I would just like to make it clear for all the people who suddenly want to express their opinion on the topic: the ‘scandal’ with Chi Omega Nu Gamma chapter at Penn State is NOT and has never been a representation of any values that Chi Omega stands for. I am just as embarrassed as anybody for their conduct, but I still would not change my decision of becoming a Chi O. I joined this sorority as a founding member of the Kappa Mu chapter last year because of their emphasis on their six purposes:
Friendship
High Standards of Personnel
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship
Participation in Campus Activities
Career Development
Community Service
My membership in Chi Omega is changed my life only for the better: my GPA went from a 3.0 to a 3.6, I’ve made friendships that will last forever, I’ve made memories that I will never forget, I’ve gotten so involved and have come out of my shell so much. So before you analyze our crest, our website, this scandal, or any other aspect of the Chi Omega Fraternity, don’t; because there is so much more than what outsiders can see, and it really isn’t anybody’s place to make assumptions.

*sorority sugar comment : i couldn’t agree more!
here’s what i’m going to say about the stupid ChiO costume photo ~ when you do something dumb #1) don’t post photos all over the internet, and #2) you just give ammunition to all the greek haters. one ugly photo can undo ALL the good that sororities do 365 days a year. there are nasty people just waiting to jump on the slightest controversy and bring greeks down. don’t give them the power or the opportunity. :/
