i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af

i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience

say the fucking words, guys. just say the goddamn words before i go insane!!!

I think Alys had a whole schedule of evil dreams and unique narratives to blast into Aemond's mind, but was completely thrown off course when he immediately started to heem heem whimper. She didn't even get to give her goat the face of his mother and sister fused into one before he started going, "did...did Vhagar at least leave a note saying how long she'd be gone?"

see, on paper this is just daemon two. alys has every right to believe the same multi-week campaign of psychological warfare used against the other guy should be good to copy and paste onto this one. mommy issues? check. an older brother crowned king who is inadequate for the role? check. a superiority complex based on a bloodline and a super powerful dragon? check.

harrenhal gave alys the read out, but failed to tell her that this one is like about nineteen/twenty-two years old and unlike daemon wasn't out running around town fucking his way through whore houses and having drinks with the boys in gold. he was spending his free time with criston cole (catholic and suicidal) and his mom (catholic and suicidal) and his sister (catholic and autistic and suicidal), with the very occasional visit to the brothel where he would pay an older woman to say, "nooooo, my prince, you're not evil. nooooooooo. honey baby sweetie gravy pumpkin darling--"

so now it's just really awkward for alys because she was planning to really ramp up the visions and taunts, but the first time she told him that king's landing fell there's a non-zero chance he didn't blue screen. now she's awkwardly hugging him and looking at the legions of crows she hired and mouthing at them to maybe come back in forty-eight hours.

It’s so weird watching Hotd when I sketched this silly fanfic of Aemond coming across Rhaena in the Vale and taking her as a hostage to Harrenhal where he proceeds to go through a whump arc and also eventually Rhaena ends up on Rhaenyra’s bad side but there’s like less death because it’s in my drafts and I never posted it but this season seems to hit pretty close to some of the plot???
