For everyone who was asking, this is the Genovation ControlPad CP24. I purchased it on amazon. It’s got 24 programmable keys and 2 levels (I have mine set for Paint tool SAI and Mangastudio 5, using the toggle buttons on top.).
It’s a great neutral handed device. I personally like it better than other programmable keypads because A: I am left handed and B: Four fingers wide, very easy to memorize. Also, for customization freaks: you can print out your own key icons and place them wherever. As shown in my photo.
I want one
Finally something that properly shows the infuriating hate I have for mosquitoes

me, at a restaurant: so, what would you recommend?
waiter: well, the house special, most definitely, or the bees.
me, confused: the bees?
waiter, shouting to the kitchen: HE HAS SELECTED THE BEES
kitchen: THE BEES
I spent today banging my head against a wall trying to learn how to use JSON to do something that I could have done manually in 10 mins. BUT I did end up working it out and any day where you learn something brand new is good.
I’m writing a little app that takes your name and generates a Breaker Key code as well as giving you a code name title. It actually comes up with some pretty cool titles and for a little while I was tempted to keep it to myself but I can just drop a batch of new words into my own version if I really needed to.
Once I got the base code working I decided it really needs to be able to let you pick a picture to go with it. So I went though and grabbed over 140 of them from the Blade Kitten universe. There are a LOT of characters that I’ve never gotten around to using which is a shame. Most of them actually have names and backgrounds - which is scary. I have a problem in that I love creating characters. Maybe too much. That’s why TY has SOOOO many - I would just keep coming up with new ones. Nobody has ever told me to stop either so the cycle continues :)
Hopefully I’ll get he app finished on the weekend - It’s just a web page thing so it should run on anything. I look forward to seeing your Breaker keys when it’s done.
I die every time I read this
caption: a fluffy cat with a tail pointed towards the sky in the shape of a question mark walks directly at the camera to the tune of the sugarplum fairy. the cat is intent. the cat is powerful. the cat is majestic and leant a degree of gravity beyond its years by the intensity of the classical music.
Today was spent animating and getting up to speed again on the code to get her moving around. I art swapped the new Kit animations into my last movement test bed then spent a little time tweaking the values to get it feeling right.
Since the movement behavior has inertia built in I started playing with animation speed values to help with the feeling of acceleration. So as she speeds up the walk anim goes up to full speed. It worked pretty well after I bumped up the values so that the animation speed didn’t start a zero but at 30% of full speed.
Once I did that I figured I had to add some starting and stopping animation transitions. Just to smooth things out a bit. So there a few frames as you go from the idle to the walk and then another batch when you stop. Stopping required 2 sets to better match the position of the legs. Remember that these are all frames no realtime animation where I could just do a blend. It took me ages to work out how to do it but not because it was complicated. In one instance I had extra frames exported because I wasn’t paying attention to a LUA script and had the wrong frame range exporting from the animation software. And then another time I forgot that the same animation software was playing back at 60fps whereas I’d exported the animation for 30. So when I was trying to work out which frame range to play a sequence on I was way off.
But yeah now I’ve got a nice walk happening. I’ll still mess with the acceleration values since I slowed it down to make sure I could see the transitions properly when I was debugging stuff. The color of the Frame counter under Kit is so I could debug to make sure it was playing the right anim for the stop animation.
½ Just a cool animation trunchbull is working on :) http://www.furaffinity.net/user/trunchbull/ R.I.P. mobile users though
