The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was even more perfect than I could have dreamed⚔️
in the lord commander’s cell
Only death comes from fire. Just saying.
You forget that some life can’t be brought forth without the previous system burning to the ground.
It’s a very Christian mythological idea tbh. Fire is healing and a source of power in quite a few non-Christian mythologies and folklore.
Also anon, lighting fires during the winter and cooking food is what keeps people alive. Fire is used to forge and build many of the tools and instruments we use in our lives. how are antis so dumb that they forget basic facts of life 😂
Fire (Agni) -> main element of prana -> metabolism -> life force/the elemenr of life itself
Fire -> purest element (unlike Earth/Air/Water/Ether) -> as it cannot be sullied or polluted
Fire -> as unsullied pure element, is also a purifier -> hence agni pareeksha, agni sakshi.. aka Fire is “Slayer of lies” 👀
Fire -> is spreading light & heat -> symbolic of knowledge & truth -> hence fire is the SAVIOUR against darkness and cold 👀 (hmm? whose destiny is to fight the eternal night/ ice is the enemy?)
Fire -> literally called the fighter(?)/dispeller of eternal night in Rigveda (search the quote & add)
So yes.. Fire is the apt element for Dany as it represents - life/purity/purifying force/truth/knowledge/safety/ enemy of eternal darkness.
#also add how fire represents metabolism and a process unlike other elements#it’s literally a transformative element#it converts dead things into energy & life force#look thru doniger gor the rigveda hymn (tags by @evilwomen)
Actually, I would love to mention that fire is not actually ‘evil’ in christianity either. In fact God, itself, has a full representation on the fire, which represents his love/presence but also his wrath (dualism).
Fire, as theophany of existence, communicates, first of all, the very presence of God. This is especially evident in the burning bush from which God spoke to Moses ( Exod 3:2-6 ). Here fire is a manifestation of God himself, for Moses turned away from the sight “because he was afraid to look at God” (v. 6). Similar to this is Yahweh’s descent upon Mount Sinai “in fire” ( Exod 19:18 ; cf. Deuteronomy 4:11-12 Deuteronomy 4:15Deuteronomy 4:33 Deuteronomy 4:36 ).
A special use of fire imagery in the New Testament is that connected with baptism with fire. John the Baptist predicted that Jesus would baptize “with the Holy Spirit and with fire” ( Matt 3:11 ; cf. Luke 3:16 ), a promise that was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost. Then “tongues of fire” rested upon those gathered in the upper room with the result that they “were filled with the Holy Spirit” ( Acts 2:3-4 ).
The fire here is a manifestation of God, in the case of the Third Person of the Godhead, a theological conception unknown to the Old Testament.Fire as theophany of action reveals God at work in a number of ways. One of the earliest and clearest of these ways is his appearance in a pillar of fire that led the people of Israel out of Egypt and through the Sinai deserts. Another instance of God’s use of fire as an active manifestation of his presence is his sending fire from heaven to consume sacrifices offered up to him on special and unusual occasions. The first of these inaugurated Aaron’s ministry as priest. Having blessed the people, Moses and Aaron witnessed the appearance of the glory of the Lord, a striking manifestation of which was fire that “came out from the presence of the Lord” to consume the sacrifices already placed on the altar
Also in the wrath side, like fire represents the dualism on his nature like a divine spectrum.
Because of fire’s heat and destructive capacity, it frequently appears in the Bible as a symbol of God’s anger and of the judgment and destruction that sometimes are extensions of that anger. The psalmist employs fire as a simile for divine displeasure when he asks the Lord, “How long will your wrath burn like fire?“

Hell is not on fire because fire is evil, fire is basically the representation with how God would punished the sinners of the world.
Why Rhollo has a heart on fire symbolism?, this is basically a catholic representation of Jesuschrist in many works of art too.
in conclusion, FIRE is a dualism element, it’s not ‘evil’ and believing it its having a very basic mindset, because like mention above, humanity wouldn’t have evolved without the need of fire to cook, warm houses, bring life. Also not to mention that even GRRM talk about the fire like in a positive remark.
George R. R. Martin has said that he was influenced (NOT COPY PASTE IT) by Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice:
I mean… Fire is love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardor and all of these things. Ice is betrayal, ice is revenge, ice is… you know, that kind of cold inhumanity and all that stuff is being played out in the books.

Also he has Mel’s voiceover the same thing.
There is ice and there is fire. Hate and love. Bitter and sweet… Winter and summer. Evil and good. Death and life. Everywhere, opposites. Everywhere, the war.

That is my inclusion.
Since different people have added things to this post in different reblogs, I hope you guys don’t mind me copying some of your comments here to have them in a single post, because I think they’re very interesting:
I’m sure there’s metas about this somewhere (and if not I’m certainly not the person to write them) but to expand on op’s answer: fire/“dragons plant no trees” is so on the nose in regards to reforestation it’s not even funny. When forests get bogged down by old growth that no longer provide nutrients and thus stifles new growth, we literally burn the old growth away. This makes room for new growth and returns nutrients to the ground so that the forest can thrive once more. Fire doesn’t just bring death, if used correctly (controlled burning) it actually literally revives land. The parallel to dany is obvious here, I think. The slave cities are dead forests where life (freedom) can’t thrive. Dany can plant all the beans and marry all the nobles, but whatever progress she makes will be stifled by the old, dead overgrowth of the slavers. She needs to burn them out to make room for new life. There’s no sense in planting trees in dead forests. (by @cornrnanderlexas)

Also anthropologically speaking, Fire is the foundation of life. Without it, we wouldn’t have advanced Paleolithic times. We wouldn’t have evolved, we wouldn’t be human. (by @bucketfairies)

I would also like to add that it’s very interesting that Jesus is represented with a flaming heart, because the flaming heart is exactly the symbol of R'hllor in ASOIAF. And the champion of R'hllor, the savior of that religion, is Azor Ahai, and Dany is Azor Ahai. So that’s another pretty obvious connection between Dany and Jesus.

Sometimes you have to rewatch Jon and Sansa reuniting and cry….like damn she hasn’t been safe in years until this moment. He doesn’t know if he should touch, his baby sister who is so traumatized and who once hated him. And she springs forward to grab him, her big brother who can keep her safe for once. FCUKKKKKKKKK
