The people must know how good Brennan Lee Muligan is at being a Vicious DM when he decides to be
He does NOT hold back in Hard setting campaigns man crown of candy was devastating and was genuinely a miracle any of them lived
He knows how and when to lie to players about rolls/mechanics for them to make meta knowledge align with what they should know or assume
Bro WILL narratively punish a player if they get caught slipping or leave loose ends.
Is known to orcastrate events that are an inch away from impossible for the players to win to progress the story (stole all the Diamonds so player couldnât cats revivify then one shot an NPC to establish how dangerous a NPC was) (and how Brennan killed Julienâs dad and Occtis to set up occtisâs and Julienâs origin story)
In a Hardmode campaign he makes it his goal to murder a PC he literally said somewhere that he was sure that at least one PC would die in campaign 4 and in a crown of candy he was actively trying his best to murder PCâs bc thatâs what the setting was
Brennan usually gives as much grace thatâs reasonable to players but when heâs vicious heâs brutal.
THIS
and, the reason it works so well (for me at least) is that he still wants the players to succeed. He is going to pull out every stop to destroy them and he is going to have fun killing every last one - but when they overcome the odds and succeed he is as if not more excited than anyone else. He wants them to win, even when he wants them to die.
RIGHT like You can see how badly he wanted Teor to get out of there when the tragedy happened but he did NOT pull his punches

Comments about Aabria "inserting herself" and "taking too much attention" really brings to mind this study that used to go around, about how female students that were responsible for half of the discussion were perceived by men as talking a lot more than them, and when they were actually talking a lot less, they were perceived as speaking as much as the men.
The problem here is that a significant portion of the audience has a very low tolerance for a black woman to take any amount of space. Anything more than being a fly on the wall is going to feel intrusive to them. Aabria participating in roleplay is seen as disruptive by the same people who would never ne bot5hered by Sam derailing an entire scene with a joke on his flask (just an example)...
Can we just take a moment to appreciate just how much Tachonis got fucked up by Team Birdwatching? Like, yes, Teor and Cyd were killed in the crypt and Hannan was PWKâd on the grounds, but in exchangeâ
- Mara the Wing has been rescued
- Koral Tachonis, the current heir of the house, was killed
- the soul gem holding Alba Davinosâ soul was stolen
- several pages concerning the construction of the Sea Door ships and their plans were ripped out of his ledger
- the monstrosity that Raimond Davinos was going to become was destroyed before it could be completed
- and they donât even get to replace him with either of the Pridesires because Thimble got them out of there!
Honestly, despite this being the mission that went the worst out of the three, Team Birdwatching absolutely killed it these last few episodes!
Not d&d related but anyone who hasnât seen You HAVE TO watch the new game changer episode on Dropout.tv
Thereâs a part of the episode thatâs just genuinely pure horror/comedy and I adamantly believe the whole world needs to see it
I (A cisgender person) have declared that Bolaire is a trans allegory thank you that will be all
Iâm finally calling out Halandil for the gold digger he is!
Bro has kids with 2 different rich women and he asked one of the girls for money and she had a whole ass monologue about how her (grandma???) knew this day would come and told her to be ready
And the other one just shielded him from the law bc he put on a scandalous play that they asked him to edit
And his 2 friends
Bolaire: the Curator of a magic museum who lets him basically steal any magic artifact he wants for his plays
Wiccander Halovar: face of a sundered house who clears all of the red tape for Hal so he can put on his plays
Bros married to his theater everyone else is a side Ho to Him đ
Bolaire is a character I relate to a little too hard to In the last episode for 2 reasons.
1: When people especially the ones you consider family downsize/excuse the heinous shit someone does to you for whatever BS reason they have itâs causes an unimaginable level of rage in you
And I saw that in Bolaire when he threw his minor fit which he had more than Every right to throw with the BS day he had with his sister attacking him and the person he cared for most treating him like a monster
I feel he was hoping that somone would comfort him and say that what happened to him was wrong but no one did and itâs devastating when that happens, everyone was acting like he was being melodramatic for hating Thjazi for doing every hate crime he possibly could to Bolaire
2: The way Bolaire canât escape the profiling
Every action he takes and word he speakâs is being warped by the identity others have given him.
I truly donât think Bolaire doesnât see himself as a person I think he says he doesnât because he wants other people to say he is, and to some extent they do but their words are cheap when they still donât treat you like one.
Bolaire is perfectly aware that no matter how humane he is he will never be fully allowed personhood, A lesson Thjazi made sure he learned and no matter how hard he tries to prove him wrong everyone to some extent gatekeeps humanity from him enforcing that lesson.
And thatâs what heâs angry about, heâs angry that Thjazi treated him like scum on the earth and that nobody cares, Bolaire in his rant was being sarcastic and satirical, he said he belonged to Thimble or Hal because heâs just an object thatâs what Thjazi made him feel like,
And everyone tells him heâs not but no one says Thjazis wrong, and that makes their words hollow, no one faults Thjazi for treating Bolaire like an Object, but they say Bolaire isnât an object, those two facts canât exist together.
If Thjazi isnât wrong then Bolaire has to be an Object to them, he couldnât be a person bc if he was then Thjazi would be wrong and no one says he is
Itâs infuriating getting stuck in this cycle of contradiction and thatâs why he says he has no family, because everyone made it clear to him that night that their family is Thjazi
Dude we couldâve had the ultimate love square polycule at the soldiers table
With Teor/Wick + Wick/Tyranny + Tyranny/Kattigan + Kattigan/Teor + Thimble self love
But Teor had to die and now everyone is a Widow >:[
I wonder how genuine Halandil and Wicanderâs friendship is bc from what Iâve gathered,
Wick is the reason Halandil had as much freedom as he did with his plays and Hal was using Wick as a worth a shot attempt to parden Thjazi in the Prologue,
And for Wick Hal seems to be somone he strongly respects and cares for with Wick being shown to openly support Hal and was semi willing to blow his cover/standing with his family for Hal twice with him advocating for Hal during the Play scandal
Their relationship has a very weird power dynamic between them with Hal having everything to gain by cozying up to Wiccander Halovar but Wick has everything to lose by endorsing Halandil Fang brother to the most infamous man in Dol-Makjar
I really hope since theyâre both Schemers now that they get a lot of interactions showing their friendship and esp bc how theyâre the two characters that have only recently gotten their hands dirty in this conspiracy
Just now realizing how incredibly fucking funny it is for taisha to walk into a place devoted to the old path which hated only 2 things in the world gods and zombies with
Vaelus: in the most I LOVE GOD outfit ever, unapologetic af
Occtis Tachonis: the most undead person to ever exist in a century whoâs also apart of the family whoâs whole gimmick is being able to control Undeath.
And just some noble asshole named Julien
And Taisha just goes âhey guys be chillâ
AND THEY DO???
Wick saying he wants to kill Primus Tachonis with his own knife was +1000 aura
But Wick deciding this because of the innocent women Wick was forced to kill is +2000000 aura
Which puts his total aura at 5.
I hope Wick and Vaelus get an opportunity to have a conversation with eachother.
They have very similar upbringings and got treated very similarly bc of their religions, in a way that wasnât fair to them.
I think it would be healing for them both to talk to each other about their lives and see how similar they are.
Headcannoning that orcs have very intense parental instincts
bc why was it that anytime they saw an unattended human child they would just be like âdibsâ and bring it home???
So we know that Azune was partly raised by Hal
and that Azune has some sort ability to change his face to match others.
Do you think when azune lived there he started to present orcish features?
Made an headcannon alignment chart to pass the time
