Look I fully support batmanâs no kill rule for his character, I understand certain characters just donât wanna do that. But I do think weâre in a drought of DC heros that shoot people in the head. like Red Hood should kill bad people and it should be viewed as heroic, iâm sick of this rubber bullets crap. Green Arrow should murder rich pedophiles, Wonder Woman should kill as a last resort. I want a spectrum, I want variety. give me political violence in my dc comics itâs baseddddd
genuinely it kills me that the only thing people know about duke is heâs a meta day time hero named signal because his pre meta signal stuff is so good and like the meat of his character to me like omg I just feel bad these people are missing out. They donât even know âitâs why I got these puzzles out Mr Wayne. Iâm going to take him on. They all say Iâm crazy, but theyll see⌠youâre only crazy if it doesnât work, right? Now, like I said⌠whatâs a six letter word for hit-or-miss?â They donât even know his parents got jokerized in an exact replica of the wayne family murders. They donât even know We are Robin. They donât know heâs a puzzle master. They donât know everything he went through trying to find his parents. They donât know he threw himself in front of a train because he was pissed Bruce was an amnesiac and wanted him to lock in and be Batman again. They donât even know We are Robin. They donât know he blasted Two-Face underwater with his favorite heavy metal band âBatmans bitchâ and/or pussy it depends how you interpret the censor. They donât even know âlook at this. This is me. This is you. I love you.â They donât even know We are Robin. They donât even know he wanted to be called Lark. They donât even know the name signal is based off his mom and being the first knight on the battlefield. They donât even know âand you told me you had a rule. That when you werenât sure about someone, you met them first thing in the morning. In the new light, you said. People have a harder time hiding who they are first thing in the morning.â They donât even know he quotes Tarantino movies and is a poet and collects card games. They donât even know âYou think Joker is just pure evil, just pure black. But heâs not. He attacks what he loves. His serum makes victims do the same. So my parents? Every horrible thing out of their mouths? Theyâre actually telling me how much they love me. Thatâs the motivation behind the blackness. So please. Let them stay. I can take it.â They DONT EVEN KNOW WE ARE ROBIN
I think itd be funny if people in the dc universe started calling for Batman in the same why they call on mayor Mandani any time theres an inconvenience in Gotham from the local villian of the week to the city needs more dumpsters they just make and upload a video saying "Batman can you come deal with this"
If Mandani was mayor of Gotham Batman would be too busy investigating how this man has somehow overcome 17 different evil curses to start actually improving things in Gotham
Iâm actually going to reblog a thing just because this is really important.
As someone who has epilepsy and used to have several grand mal seizures a day, Iâd also like to add that âoffer helpâ can range anywhere from keeping the person calm to explaining to them where they are and what they were doing to even just telling them they should sit and rest for a while longer (lack or coordination is common, and it can be hard to walk straight or see clearly).
Itâs okay for them to take up to a half hour to fully regain their bearings and sort out what they were doing prior to the seizure. Just answer any questions calmly and be there for support.
If they come around and you start to panic or shake them or ask them what the heck is wrong with them they are going to freak out and panic too.
I cannot stress it enough that this is bad.
If someone has a seizure and they come out of it, please. please stay calm.
They are likely disoriented and confused, even if itâs only for a minute or two, and you donât want them panicking on top of that because they can have another seizure as a result.
IMPORTANT because last year a kid in my class had a seizure, none of us even knew he was at risk for them either so just cause you donât think you know anyone doesnât mean you donâtÂ
I have to stress how important it is to time a seizure. If it lasts more than a few minutes, call an ambulance.
DO NOT CALL THE POLICE. Iâm dead fucking serious. I had a grand mal in public once and the POLICE were called and imagine coming out of the seizure, feeling like you got smacked in the head with a sack full of bricks, confused, dazed, in desperate need of some sugar to boost low blood pressure and some DIPSHIT has called the police and I was being threatened with being âdrunk and disorderlyâ. It took a phone call to my doctors office to get them to back off. The police cannot properly deal with sick people.Â
Offer help can be:
assuring person where they are/what time it is
getting them something to drink if they can; seizure burns so much energy and does cause a blood pressure drop
getting them safely to transport or a carer
getting them some dignity like a blanket/towel [loosing control of your bladder and bowels is fucking horrifying]
ensuring they have a way to get home. Someone who has just had a seizure should NEVER DRIVE straight after
calling emergency services if you notice any of these symptoms because they may have stroked out.
Why you shouldnât put anything in someoneâs mouth: they will choke. Yes, they may bite their tongue but I can assure you itâs less traumatic than cracking your jaw on someoneâs greasy wallet or choking on a spoon.
DO NOT HOLD ANYONE DOWN. Example: someone pinned my right shoulder mid-seizure a few years back and how I have a permanently displaced and clicking shoulder. Let the person flail around, those muscles are out of control and restraining them does cause more damage to the patient and you.
People can also have seizures that look epileptic, but are rather psychogenic. I had a coworker who had PNES (psychogenic non-epileptic seizures) as a result of trauma, and I learned a lot about this from them.
Because PNES seizures arenât caused by the same thing as epileptic seizures, they can look similar but people can be semi-conscious during them, generally do not lose full control of their bodies (bladder/bowels and other reflexes remain), and importantly, they can last longer than 5 minutes (even hours) without causing long-term damage.
The âdo not call the policeâ point was especially vital for them, because people with PNES are more vulnerable to medical abuse by professionals who think they are âfakingâ because the seizure isnât epileptic, and a person with PNES may have medical trauma from being treated cruelly by doctors, family members, etc. while seizing in the past. This study looked at stigma around PNES (also called functional seizures; Iâm using PNES because its what my coworker called it):
Literature suggests that it can take years for patients to finally get a diagnosis of FS, but once they receive the diagnosis, it is often met with negative stereotypes and perceptions that lead to stigmatisation and treatment resistance. [âŚ] Moreover, with 34 of the 70 included data sources reflecting HCP [healthcare professional] stigma, one of the main themes that arose from this review illustrated the importance of HCPsâ acknowledgement and acceptance of their role in both perpetuating and reducing FS stigma. From our review it became apparent that HCPsâ negative attitudes towards patients with FS persist in the health community, often because of a lack of knowledge, general awareness, understanding and medical training with regards to this disorder
For my coworker, they expressed that one of the most important things for them was to just not be alone, to have someone verbally saying they were with them and it would be alright, and then to be supported according to their needs once the seizure ended. Their seizures were often triggered by stress, or from trauma triggers, so being treated with compassion, having their body respected, and having a calm environment during and after the seizure were very important.
Obviously if you have no other context, its best to assume an epileptic seizure and act accordingly. But to return to the graphic above, check for any kind of ID, whether a tag or medical bracelet or anything else! And do not treat psychogenic / functional seizures as less real or less important, and donât let anyone around the person who is seizing treat it that way either.
My most trashy, garbage comic fan take is that I like characters not aging more than 10-20 years past their origin. If they begin as a child, I want to see them age and mature up to a young adult (coming of age is a classic, come on), but Iâd stop there. And for characters that start out as adults in their late 20s or 30s, Iâm really not interested in seeing them go past 50.
I say âtrashyâ because I recognize, on an intellectual level, the merit of aging characters. This is healthy for the landscape. Itâs not just a passage of time thing, but also opening new doors for what kinds of stories you can tell with certain characters. And, while these characters get new stories, it also clears the path for the next generation to get their own characters.
I just donât give a shit. I want meaningful events to still happen, I want continuity to still hold weight, I want them to mentally change and evolve to reflect their experiences, but I donât need to see them physically age. Comics already make no sense. Iâm not going to get hung up on âhow have there been three Christmases if youâre still 25?â. And Iâm not interested in most of the stories that come with long term aging. I get really attached to characters, so the âam I getting too old for this?â storyline, or god forbid the âI canât do this anymoreâ storyline, is always terrible. I donât want my character to be past their prime. I donât want to see them replaced. And as for younger characters, my favorite age range for storytelling is old enough to solidly be an adult, to have responsibilities and be a mentor, but young enough to still have older mentors themselves. I donât want to read the âmale pattern baldnessâ or the âdo I take the penalties of cashing out my 401k to buy a speedboat as part of my midlife crisisâ arcs of the OG Teen Titans, you know what I mean?
Iâm sorry. Sue me. Iâm a terrible fan. My taste is slop LMAO.

summary: Jason wanted to get back at his brother Dick, and what better way to do that than to make his brother believe they were going to film some self-defense tutorial videos

part 2 of don't leave Jason's girl near a knife (though it can be read as a standalone story)
The woman moved the camera back and forth, looking for the right angle and lighting.
A few weeks ago, Jason had suggested recording a self-defense tutorial video. And who better to demonstrate the tutorial than Dick?
The idea had come to him on a boring afternoon.
A few days had passed since his girlfriend had shown her brothers that she could defend herself. Jason had discovered this in the early months of their relationship, but it hadnât been a big dealâother than knowing that his girlfriend was even more amazing than before.
However, after Dick had (accidentally) embarrassed him in front of a group of civilians, the idea popped into his head.
A smile had appeared on his face as he turned to look at his girlfriend.
âWhat?â she asked, before popping a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.
âYou still remember what you learned in your self-defense classes, right?â
âYeah, why?â she asked, confused by the question.
And thatâs how they got to this moment.
âWOAH!â Dickâs voice rang out from the Wayne Mansion courtyard door to where the couple stood. âLetâs do this!â
The girl laughed softly, shaking her head.
âOkay!â the woman exclaimed, clapping her hands together. âThe camera is ready. Dick, youâll demonstrate the sequence of moves, and Jason, youâll be the attacker. Do you remember what you need to do?â
They both nodded and took their respective positions. He gestured with his hand to indicate that the camera was already rolling.
âHi!â Dick greeted the camera enthusiastically. âToday weâre going to show you how to escape from a wrist lock. My brother,â Jason raised his head in greeting, earning a dirty look from his girlfriend, which made him finish with a wave. âJason will be the attacker. Heâll grab my wrist, and Iâm going to break free from his hold.â
Jason takes a step back, while Dick extends one of his arms.
âHere comes the attacker; he grabs my wrist.â Jason performs the action, applying a firm grip. âIâm going to move toward him to throw him off balance, twist my wrist to break free on the narrower side, and pull my arm back forcefully toward me.â
They both repeat the movement once more with a little more speed.
âAnd after that, I run away to prevent the confrontation from continuing. Okay, letâs do it.â
Dick extends his arm, Jason grabs it quickly, and before Dick can escape, Jason pulls his arm and throws him hard to the floor, taking his brother by surprise.
The girl laughed heartily at that.
âOkay, that wasnât exactly what we planned,â Dick exclaimed. âOne more time.â
Dick reaches out his arm again, and Jason grabs it.
Dick pulls his arm toward Jason and breaks free from the grip.
He lunges forward to start running, but doesnât get very far before Jason trips him, causing him to fall face-first onto the ground again.
Now, both Jason and his girlfriend were laughing heartily at the fall.
They try again.
This time Dick manages to run a few meters before Jason catches up to him. Dick breaks free from his grip and runs in the opposite direction.
Jason jumps diagonally and strikes his back with both feet, knocking him down.
âWhat the hell, Jason?!â Dickâs indignant voice rang out. âThat wasnât supposed to happen!â
Jason shrugged his shoulders, amused.
âI thought it was better to show some variety in the attacker. Everyone has different methods. You should know that, Dick.â
âI think we should move on to something else,â the girl suggested with a laugh.
They moved the camera to the training room in the mansion.
No matter how many times the girl had been to that house, she was always surprised to discover a new room as big as her own apartment.
Rich peopleâs stuffâŚ
âAll right!â the girl exclaimed enthusiastically, showing both men a long cardboard tube, about a meter long or so. âNow, weâll use a stick.â
Dick raised both eyebrows, seeing where this tutorial was headed.
âExcuse me?â
âWhat?â the girl asked, shrugging. âYou run all over Gotham and BlĂźdhaven with two sticks on your back. Itâs not that crazy to teach.â
Jason nodded, agreeing with his girlfriend.
The situation was hilarious to him, and he loved that his girlfriend was getting involved in this.
âOkayâŚâ the boy sighed in frustration. âLetâs just get this over with.â
The woman signaled again that the camera was rolling.
âHi, everyone!â Dick greeted them, this time with less excitement and more fear. âThis time weâre going to teach you how to defend yourselves against a stick.â
Hesitantly, he handed the stick to his brother, who took it with a smile.
That should have been his first warning.
âThe first thing we need to do is stay alert and move away from the perimeter.â Dick takes his brotherâs arm holding the stick and extends it horizontally. âThatâs the attackerâs arm plus the stick.â
He takes a few steps back.
âIâll get out by counting the tiles.â
âWhat if he catches you on the grass?â Jason asked with a chuckle.
âYou take him to the sidewalk.â
The girl covered her mouth with both hands, trying to stifle a laugh that threatened to escape.
âHit me.â
Jason starts swinging the stick back and forth, while Dick takes small steps backward, raising both hands so he doesnât get hit with it. However, Jason advanced regardless and soon found himself hitting Dick hard with the stick.
âNo! Enough! Jason! Stop!â Dick called out your name. âTELL HIM TO STOP!â
The scene cuts and shifts to another (Jason beat him for 3 minutes without pause).
âIâm moving away from the perimeter; the attacker must not approach!â Dick emphasizes.
This time, Dick tried to take the stick away by lunging forward to disarm him.
Jason leaped backward, moving away, and Dick ended up face-first on the floor again.
And the blows began again, as Dick crawled across the floor and Jason chased him.
âOh, God,â the woman muttered. She turned off the camera and left the room, leaving the two brothers to do brotherly things.
Dick had an ice pack on his back while Jason played both videos for the whole family.
âIâm never recording a tutorial with you again,â the older brother exclaimed irritably. âEspecially not scenes you plan.â
Jason chuckled.
âI didnât plan anything,â he confessed. âIt was her.â
Dick turned to look at her.
âYouâre crazy.â
âI wouldnât say crazy.â The woman picked up the stick Jason had used and raised it so it came into her brother-in-lawâs line of sight. âRather, I make your life more entertaining and keep you on your toes.â
Jason walked into the apartment they shared, laughing.
The scent of the chocolate and vanilla cookies theyâd baked that morning still lingered in the air.
âDid you see the look on his face?â
Jasonâs laughter echoed through the apartment.
A small smile spread across the girlâs face.
Every time she heard him laugh like that, carefree, a comforting warmth would always wash over her chest.
Ever since Jason had opened up to her, telling her all about his past, his fears, insecurities, and anxiety; sometimes she couldnât help but feel sad when she thought about those things from time to time, and knowing that such simple moments could make him happy brought her joy to see him so content.
The woman wrapped both arms around the boyâs waist. Her eyes gazed lovingly at his sparkling green eyes and his beautiful face, adorned with those white strands of hair falling across his forehead.
âAlthough Iâm happy to see you this happy,â she murmured with a smile, âdonât ever ask me to do something like that again. I felt bad when five minutes went by, and you were still hitting him.â
Jason grimaced.
âHe'll get over it. Donât worry.â
The girl laughed, shaking her head.
Jason kissed her lips briefly, grateful for her to have been a part of that, when a meow sounded at their feet.
âHi, baby,â Jason murmured, picking up the little black kitten theyâd adopted a few months ago. âDo you want to hear what your dad did today?â The kitten meowed in response. âOf course you do.â
i see a lot of superbat stuff where clark shows bruce the "little things" in a proper relationship that bruce might not normally get but yknow what i want it the other way around.
"bruce never receives flowers before a date" yesss he does bro trust me. everyone and their mother is buying bruce wayne flowers. you know who's not getting flowers? clark kent. you know who's buying clark kent flowers? bruce wayne.
expensive flowers. handpicked wildflowers. flowers from alien planets. flowers native to other countries that clark never stays in too long because he's always flying, always on the go, always saving everyone and never thinking about himself.
"clark always gets the door for bruce" ummmm no he doesn't. bruce has already beat him there. no it doesn't matter that clark has superspeedâpretty boy bruce wayne has doors held open for him all the time. it's his civic duty to do it for clark.
"clark plans all the dates" yeah uh âď¸đ¤ no. i'm sure he could, but bruce spends every day at WE having his days planned for him. he wants to plan something. he wants to treat clark and surprise him. clark is literally his passenger princess; bruce does everything in his power to keep it that way.
do you have any idea how excited bruce is that he has a boyfriend who never gets this kind of treatment, excited to be the first (and only) one to do it. do you have any idea how much he loves doing these things for clark, these little acts of service for the one man who can do it allâjust to take that little bit more off his plate.
do you have any idea how much bruce wayne loves clark kent bro. do you.
