Finally I can share this piece for The Hag Under the Wood ✨️

For The Pearl of Lunathir we worked to bring together as much as we could of Lunathir’s lore in visual form so that readers could have an immersive experience when diving into Nettie’s story. Some of our biggest inspirations were the movie Atlantis, the animation classic, and real life abyssal animals.

It's been forever since I last made any illustrations of them. Lately I felt like I needed to unwind, so I decided to give myself a treat and made some personal art for a change.

Careto, a quick study in oil pastels and coloured pencils 👹

In Northern Portugal, Carnival is still celebrated the same way since pre-Roman times.

The Caretos or Entrudos Chocalheiros run around the villages with their loud bells to chase away the cold and welcome the life of Spring. In some places, straw effigies are also set up to be ceremoniously burned. There's music, masks, colours and plenty of food for many days.

The Starving Vampire - an Inktober short story 🦇🩸✨️
