Medium sized Wraith in Deluxe Surprise Me! colors. I asked for something ghostly/spooky, but different from the base Wraith color. It’s a sort of stormy, smokey blue-grey marble, with a darker grey base. (the colors are a little tough to photograph) This is another beef-tastic toy - very thick, even in medium firmness!

iTunes: My book Fetish Sex is criminal, 'excessively objectionable'
I can’t believe that headline is accurate, but it is. On Thursday October 30, I submitted my nonfiction book “Fetish Sex: A Complete Guide" to iTunes for inclusion in the iBooks store. The store currently carries 40 of my books, and 23 of my audiobooks. On October 31, Fetish Sex was rejected under the same rubric as child pornography, defense of rape, and encouragement to commit a crime. I was provided no way to amend or appeal the issue.
iTunes stated the following:
Dear Violet Blue, Your content, Fetish Sex , has one or more issues that must be resolved.

My book contains none of these things.
Six hours after informing me my book was prohibited and has “one or more issues that must be resolved,” iTunes emailed to tell me it had canceled the ticket because “the requested changes were not executed.” There were no requested changes, and no way to “execute” any changes.
This leaves my book unpublished. The email said,

I can’t help but wonder how people in the upper classes of iTunes are allowed to resolve this, or if this even happens to the moneyed, big-box publishers. I doubt they have the same experience, and this concerns me with its ramifications on many levels in the context of iTunes’ position as a utility for distribution for independent artists and writers.
I filled out a contact form today from within the iTunes Connect contact system. This is what I wrote:
Hi there,
I received a ticket about my book content for “excessively objectionable” content. Your email notification did not provide information about the specific issue, nor did it provide any requested changes.
I believe this assessment has been made in error and I would like to request a review.
This book does not contain any of the objectionable content listed in your auto-flag email, and my popular titles in the iTunes/iBooks store have comparable content. In addition iTunes/iBooks carries nearly all of my books, over a dozen titles.*
I am happy to discuss this in a phone call anytime, and make myself available for any avenue of inquiry you require, including reader reviews from book review websites and other sales channels (such as Amazon.com). I believe this issue can be quickly and easily resolved.

I am now concerned that my iTunes Connect account may be marked or flagged in some way for a transgression I did not commit, nor do I understand. (This is what Flickr does, regardless of what the user has actually done, and it is punitive and irrevocable.) I’m scared that I’ll have difficulty submitting future titles, or may lose my account completely, like what Amazon routinely does to its sellers without recourse or reason.
Fetish Sex has been in print for eight years. It is an all-gender, all-orientation, sex-positive guidebook to understanding “outsider” sexual practices and interests, and resolving them in productive, healthy ways for singles and couples. It is a popular book, and has been in Amazon’s top ten digital downloads twice in its lifetime. I recently got my publishing rights released from Amazon’s KDP Select, and am now able to self-publish it in other sales channels.
My intent with Fetish Sex is to foster understanding toward and among practices, communities and individuals that lead lives of shame, painful isolation, hidden depression, confusion, and end up in high-risk situations. The basis of the book is a complete description, reliance upon, and repeated demonstrations of informed consent. No other book has done any of these things for this grouping of sexual practices — a population which is widespread. For the health of our communities and those we care about, fetish sexuality must be addressed in a way that exhibits compassion, and right now, my book is the only one that does this. It is a dignified and respectful book.
I believe Apple’s display of knee-jerk censorship is part of a very serious, and much larger problem. It is a problem that works in concert with Google’s effort to “clean up” the internet and appeal to repressive governments in doing so; insidious issues like the UK and Australia’s internet filtering and prosecutions based on irresponsibly defined expression of human sexuality; and the key role of censorship in suppressing dissent — however ‘soft’ or ‘moral’ that suppression appears.
