Nightwing Sweater (Pullover) Pattern

Materials:

shit ton of size 4 black yarn (A) (est. 1000 yards, 1200 yds, 1400 yds)

half a shit ton of size 4 blue yarn (U) (est. 3000yds, 3500yds, 4000 yds)

size 7 DPN US or circular

size 8 DPN US or circular

Measurements: 

Sizes available: human, human, human. The one I’m wearing is a human  (Smallest size here).

bust: 32", 34", 36.5" 

length: 22", 23.5". 25"

arm (lower inseam): 15" [sleeves are ¾ and meant to end a couple inches past elbow. not full. Bcuz finger- stripe gloves/gauntlets]

Notes:

I don’t know exactly how much yarn to have because I frog old sweaters but I will say to just have a lot so that you have a good excuse to make finger-stripe gloves after. Estimations are calculated ballpark range though I think it’s a bit over.

Main body is worked in the round then divided for the armholes. From there front and back are knitted flat but simultaneously and same pattern. Shoulder seams are grafted. Sleeves are started by picking up stitches at the armholes and then knitting outward (flat. not circular).

My yarn was already in many, various sized skeins and that made it easier to add in the skeins when at the Intarsia parts. I recommend doing this because (believe me I’ve done this) if you try to just use the other end of the same skein, it’s going to become a tight mess that’s more difficult because the yarn is black.

Also, try to add new skeins every row rather than all on the same row. This makes it easier to focus on making even stitches one new skein’s loose end at a time.

The bunch of little skeins also allowed me to leave the entire skeins when done with them and then use those for the sleeves (less ends to weave in).

Chevron should start at the sternum (that bony spot between the boobs) and hit the body like a deep V neckline. 

I got the width of the sleeve stripes from measuring the distance of my ring and middle fingers. Yes it’s because finger stripe gloves/gauntlets.

I’m going to try and add in tips just in case this is your first sweater or am not usually making sweaters (like me haha. This is my 5th sleeved project).

Please please please modify this pattern where you need to and/or let me know where to change it. This is my first pattern. I’m expecting this to go badly.
