hi im neffrey (he/it) and i'm a pokemon mystery dungeon fanfic writer and maybe eventually an artist someday idk im working on it!!

my current (and only) fic is called PMD: Trailblazers (PMDFF/AO3), and it is about two gay idiots the son of a Guildmaster and the son of a prolific criminal both being ripped away from their predetermined paths in life and forced to work together against their will, because even though they can't stand each other, there is literally nobody else in the world they can turn to! its very quick paced and is mostly lighthearted in tone but goes to some very dark places (read the content warnings for sure) so if that sounds fun give it a read 🔥

ive been writing publicly for just over a year now, and for that entire time ive been posting chapters weekly which has been a really fun challenge to me! im probably going to be using this to post about writing (usually my own but also probably just in general) and also reblogging images of Zigzagoon because im very fond of that guy. if i get around to making art i'll also post that but no promises

something i’ve learned from being in the pmd fic writing space for a while is that stats are like literal genuine poison the most miserable people i know are the way that they are because they are obsessed with watching the precise number of readers they have at all times, im being so serious it can and will crush your joy to create you cannot use reader engagement as the primary source of your motivation. the number of people searching for new PMD fics to read rn is simply too small for that to be healthy for you. instead you should do what i do and like mostly not care at all but every few months look at your fic and go “wait what the fuck i’ve got how many kudos”

it’s so important for there to be gay shit going on between a really big pokemon and a really small pokemon in your pmd fic btw. it’s adorable every time especially if the big one is wayyy more easily flustered by the tiny one and this works for both yaoi AND yuri!

a very long time ago when i was like proooobably in the single digits of ages i remember watching this video that was like top ten worst spongebob episodes and for one of the creator's points they complained about one of the episodes being a "filler" episode. like spongebob. yes spongebob squarepants they complained the spongebob episode was "filler." i was a dumb kid at the time but nowadays when i think about it i just have to ask what does a non-filler spongebob episode look like? which episodes of spongebob do actually manage to sufficiently progress the plot in your eyes? i think about it every day
