Stunning photos of Chiang Mai’s Floating Lantern Festival.
Thousands of people gather and launch hot-air lanterns into the night sky. They are made of a thin fabric - usually rice paper. A candle or fuel cell is attached so that when it’s lit, the hot air trapped inside creates enough lift for it to float away. It’s a spectacular sight as thousands of lanterns are released at the same time. The festival is a time to pay respect to higher deities - you say a prayer, make a wish and then watch as your lantern floats away. Many people also believe that the lantern will carry your troubles away with it.

Hello, admin here! Since starting this ask blog I never really expected it to take off. This was just a pet project for me, to get me drawing more while I improve on my art. To my surprise, a whole bunch of you actually like what I’m doing here (almost 800 of you), lame jokes and all. And so! To show my gratitude to all your support, even if I’ve been slacking recently with posting replies (getting ready for school and all), I’ve decided to hold a giveaway!
To my followers, I’m giving away two pieces of artwork of whatever the winners request, plus one prize pack. Pack #1 contains the dogtag necklace and white tumbler. Pack #2 contains the button set and beach towel (with bag). The two winners will receive one of these packs at random.
Now for some RULES and general information:
You may reblog once and like, for a total of two entries. I won’t disqualify you if you enter more than these two times but all subsequent entries will not be counted.
No giveaway blogs please.
You do NOT have to be following this blog, but it’d be nice anyways. ♥
The artwork requested by the winner may be of any INFINITE members, any pairing, any crossover with other groups/media, any situation. Just no porn please, I don’t want to get in trouble with customs.
On that note, this giveaway ships internationally! I cover all shipping charges, and if the receivers get dinged for customs charges I will reimburse them. Please note that this will be sent from Canada and will be at the mercy of our terrible postal service until it leaves the country and goes into the hands of a more reliable carrier. o/
This giveaway ends on September 27th at midnight PST!
I think that’s everything! Please let me know if you have any questions about the giveaway, and as always, the ask box is open for you to harass Sungyeol~!
