Finding a caregiver and being safe 🛜
This most is mostly for minors!! but anyone could need this advice! - more posts about safety linked at the end!
Hi everybody! I'm just here to set a reminder that when looking for a caregiver - to always be careful. I hate saying it but not everyone is trustworthy or safe! I see lots of posts in the agere tags asking for caregivers, posting application forms that contain really personal details about the original poster, and even publicly giving out their Discord usernames! a lot of these people are also minors! I'm just going to give you some basic tips about being safe while searching for a caregiver.
❥⋯ Never give out your real name, real age - especially if you're under 18!!, and anything that can give away where you live!
❥⋯ Always double-check-peoples profiles, do they post anything icky? do they follow certain people who also post icky things? do certain posts contradict other posts?
❥⋯ Become friends with your caregiver before developing a relationship! really get to know them and there boundaries, let them really know you before you show them your most vulnerable side.
❥⋯ Never click random links that people send you! especially from people you don't know!
❥⋯ Never ever tell people your triggers! only tell your extremely trusted friends what triggers you! never tell a stranger what triggers you and makes you vulrunable!
❥⋯ Only send photos of yourself to trusted friends! and if you really want to post that outfit, cover your face with a filter or sticker! its quick and easy to do!
I understand wanting a caregiver so bad, but you need to be safe! Not everyone has the best intentions. And your safety comes first!
If you ever have an interaction with a icky person, don't hesitate to report and block them. And if your in something like a disocrd server - tell a mod! keeping everyone safe is important!
I encourage people to comment and give out more advice in the reblogs. I have not covered every internet safety tip here.

All About Fursuit Heads
Making a fursuit head can be very fun and rewarding whether you have a specific animal or favorite character in mind or you just want your own personal mascot. When broken down into smaller parts it can easier to accomplish! Stretch your creative muscles and learn about building a fursuit head.
It helps to know that there are infinite ways to accomplish this task, I am going to cover a few topics that are best for people new to the craft. The fursuit building community is rich with helpfulness and there are always new techniques being developed and explored, the community appreciates new ideas. One thing to keep in mind while creating your own costume is to be as resourceful as possible! While I may have used one particular item, product, or technique in creating a costume – if you find something similar for less cost, or found a different way – share that information with others! You may find something better, or a different technique and it will only develop innovation. You are highly encouraged to share your ideas and innovations with others.
Basic Materials
There are many things you need when creating a fursuit head, some materials can be found in any craft space, others are possibly unique to fursuit-making. Here are some tools and materials I use on just about every furry costume I make:
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Needle and Thread (both straight and curved needles are helpful)
Extendable Snap-off Razor Blade
Chalk (or something to mark your fabric with) & Permanent Marker
2-inch wide tape (to create your pattern)
Pins
Comb or pet slicker brush
Flexible measuring tape
e6000 adhesive
Upholstery Foam
Fleece (anti-pill preferred)
Faux fur in the colors of your choice
Styrene Plastic (available from Tap Plastics or from plastic bowls)
Polymer clay (such as Sculpy or Fimo)
Sewing machine (optional)
Fabric for a balaclava or a liner (lycra or quilted broadcloth for example)
Fabric for trim (tongue, eyelids, etc)
Dummy head (optional)

Building a Fursuit Head with Foam
This is one of my favorite methods of creating a mask, there are many other techniques to try, but this is how I create mine. Half inch thickness foam is used to build your animal character by folding, curving, and layering the foam pieces.
