Jack blinked…and then managed to coherently say, “You…you’re on night shift? Since when?”

Whitaker looked up at him with those wide, bluer-beyond-blue eyes of his and quipped, “As of right now, it looks like. I mean, I got the shift change notification a little over a week ago. They gave me the last six days off to adjust my sleep schedule, and now I’m here…” His voice trailed off a bit as he stood and adjusted his scrubs, which looked to be slightly big on him.

“…that’s not gonna be a problem, is it? …Dr. Abbot?”

I feel like not enough people realize that people under enormous strain act really really fucking Weird

things humans are known to do when stressed:

-hallucinate

-cry over what seems to be small things

-become furiously angry over what seems to be small things

-hit a self destruct button over and over again

-lose all sense of reality

-becoming straight up unable to communicate

-view every situation as life or death

-experience delusions/become vulnerable to irrational worldviews

-perceive hostility where none exists

-become extremely nauseous and/or throw up

-stop engaging in sleeping/eating/basic hygiene

-stop processing sensory input

-process way too much sensory input all at once

-lash out at others/themselves

-and more!

being able to recognize when a human (ie. you or another person) is so stressed out they cannot think clearly is VERY important for conflict resolution and diffusing emotional crisis. highly recommend trying to train yourself at being able to recognize that state of panic- there is a point in which logic and rationality is useless and you have to address the underlying emotional issue first. knowing that saves everyone a lot of pain and struggle.

I just think that Evan-I-do-physical-labour-to-make-myself-useful-to-the-people-I-love-because-a-small-part-of-me-feels-like-I-owe-them-for-putting-up-with-me-Buckley and Tommy-I-will-drop-everything-I-am-doing-and-put-myself-in-danger-for-people-that-seem-to-only-pick-up-the-phone-when-they-need-a-favour-but-I-feel-like-I-owe-them-somehow-Kinard deserve to be together.

As someone who has been shouting about how there should be a line between Creators and Fandoms for at least ten years now, I couldn't really care less about whether or not Oliver Stark knows about BuckTommy fans.

Personally I care that I get to go back and rewatch our beautiful canon ship, and dream up new scenarios to put them in through fanart, fanfics, and interactions with other fans. And that's what fandom is all about!!

Understanding + Empathy + may be even guilt for not being able to help much

There's another scene where Tommy is crossing arms, but in a completely different way, when he goes to visit Buck at the hospital when he dislocates his shoulder.

That moment is still fairly lighthearted, not nearly as sad as Hen's speech and nothing at all compared to the heart breaking scene of Bobby’s death.

I love love LOVE this detailing by Lou and the usage of body language so well to communicate a particular emotion effectively.
