Renfield is inevitably the best part of any Dracula adaptation because his actor is the only one they allow to have fun with it

I do not judge Dracula adaptations on their accuracy, but rather on the level of homoeroticism and/or campiness

With that said, the following things need to be featured in more adaptations:

Quincey. You have the opportunity to put a cowboy in your Dracula movie and you don't do it? For shame

Dracula wearing Jonathan's clothes (they do not fit and he looks ridiculous)

Dracula's stupid unfashionable hat

Mina geeking out about phonographs and traveling typewriters

Seward getting annoyed about the amount of insects. Not disgusted, just annoyed.

There just needs to be a scene of Van Helsing going on one of his endless Van Helsing monologues while everyone else zones out in their own distinct way

ok so i rewatched lisa frankenstein for like the tenth time but on a PLANE this time and afterwards I spent the rest of the flight thinking about how perfect the creature is so here’s a list of why the creature is the ideal man:

-does not speak

-encourages you to dress bolder

-likes music

-lets you sing along to songs badly

-kills anyone who hurts you

-is ok with just being your friend

-will spontaneously dance with you

-is not afraid of commitment or talking about sex

-drinks chocolate milk

-not only doesn’t speak, but also LISTENS

-is just as dramatic as you are

-LOOK AT HOW HE LOOKS AT LISA IN THIS SHOT. I WANT SOMEONE TO LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT (apologies for poor quality as I said I was on a plane lmao)

still thinking about lisa frankenstein because as i said, it’s a perfect movie, and one thing i really appreciate about it is the fact that the zombie was never given a name. because something about the og frankenstein that i don’t understand is people’s fixation on giving the creature a name as if he can’t be humanized without one. and in lisa frankenstein, it would be so easy for lisa to name the creature at any point or even try to learn what is name was (and who knows, maybe once he re-learns to talk he’d tell her) but she doesn’t and he isn’t any less of a person for it!! she still loves him and doesn’t feel like he needs a name for her to love him…and while i understand why people like a nice ‘giving a nameless character a name’ scene (a la finn and poe in star wars), i wish people wouldn’t act like it’s necessary to connect with a character on a deeper level :/

I'm unsure if that homophobic old man was dead or just taken out of the way. he sees any person in the way and thinks 'is this guy bothering you queen?' and goes in with the nearest weapon. Lisa is on the side grappling with shock and delight.
