Ok but Zuko using the knowledge he acquired during his banishment to help him as the Fire Lord. Like making small talk with Earth Kingdom dignitaries about their local foods that he enjoyed and even misses. Like having in-depth conversations with his captains about sea currents and navigation. Like, in the middle of a meeting with several high-ranking naval officials, pointing out flails in security, like how a person can cling to a Fire Nation ship for hours at a time, or climb aboard using hatches on the upper decks, or disguise themselves as a lower ranking guard with easily accessible spare armour….

im going to be homeless on august 15, which is my eviction date. i have nowhere to go. no family in the state im in to stay with.

i have $28 and barely any food, and most of my money is going to taking care of my pets which i might have to give away if i end up homeless, which i very likely will be.

We had a patient who looked like she was close to being able to come off the ventilator. There were plans to extubate her the next day. She was improving, then suddenly she nose-dived. Ruled out everything else and decided this must be cytokine storm. Her kidneys were completely shot, she had to go on dialysis. She died about a week later. I can’t stop thinking about what her middle school aged children must have been going through…one day their mom was being discharged from the field hospital because she didn’t need respiratory support, the next she went to the hospital and never came back.

As a nurse I don’t usually tell families when their loved one has died because they are either 1) at the bedside or 2) the provider calls. Sometimes I happen to catch them as they are returning from a quick trip to the cafeteria and their family member passed quickly but that’s few and far between.

But I will never forget having to tell my patient’s daughter that he had died, surrounded by me and a family medicine doctor (a PCP! On a stepdown unit!) and a respiratory therapist, only 48 hours after his wife had also passed from covid.

I will never forget arranging the visitation times of another patient who was dying NOT OF COVID, and we could only allow 2 people at a time. Please remember that covid is terrible and it kills people in a horrific way, causes unknown long term damage in many, and spreads like wildfire…. but E V E R Y O N E is suffering because of this pandemic regardless of whether you get it or not. And the longer we continue to refuse to wear masks or appropriately socially distance, the longer that every single person in this country suffers.

How I get in on this??

Hey hi so can someone help me maybe? I need advice.

  Generally I'm a very rational person but my anxiety is too much for me to be reasonable right now. I don't live in the US (so not as much of a shitshow as it could have been) but the way my country has been handling corona is.bad. There are no requirements for face masks anywhere, tourists are travelling all over the country, and kids are going back to school when this semester starts (some were still in school because some schools are too poor to afford to provide online classes).

  I work at a cultural arts school and while we have made it extremely clear that anyone who has any sort of symptoms (or who has relatives/classmates with symptoms) can't come near the school, we also have shit bosses with no contingency plan whatsoever. We still hold classes, we don't disinfect anything nearly as well as is needed, we still have staff meetings, and our unions aren't helping for shit because according to regulations there is nothing they can do (we are technically doing what is required, but what is required is practically nothing).

  I called in sick about three weeks ago (I don't have corona, it was for mental health reasons because this shit is Getting To Me), but in my country we are only allowed three weeks off without a doctor's note (normally one week, three because of corona) and my three weeks are up now. I have ordered a face mask that hasn't arrived yet, but realistically I just think we should have closed our doors months ago and taken proper precautions. I just need advice - do I effectively cheat the system and go back for a day or two and then start the three week process over (for which my bosses will hate me and absolutely find some way of enacting revenge, if not outright firing me), go on permanent sick leave and hope they'll rehire me once the crisis is over and it's actually safe to go back (fairly easy to get my job back, difficult but not impossible to get permanent sick leave), or just go back, wait for my mask, and hope for the best?

  I hate asking strangers on the internet for advice, but shit my anxiety will not let me see reason right now. Please help?
