Sum up the (2017) season in one word:
Lewis: I wish I had a really good word, my vocabulary is not the best. I'll just say it: Big. How about you?
Valtteri: I mean, it's a bit different. I would like to use two words: mixed feelings. You know, I had some great moments, first year with the team and everything. My first win, my first pole. But then in the end there were many times where I didn't feel so good in the car and so on, so mixed feelings.
Lewis: You've got to remember that this year, this is your first year within this team, y'know. Already, I remember moving from Mclaren to Mercedes and there's such a big list of things that you have to get on top of. Building new relationships with people is not easy, they probably all have expectations so to arrive and meet those expectations and the feelings you have for a year, I know how hard it is, so you should acknowledge that. You've done amazing. You've won in the first four races, so you've done an exceptional job this year. Of course I know you always want to do better, that's natural and that's what's going to drive you to do much better moving forwards. I know the best thing for us is to always be hard on ourselves but what I've learned over the years is to always make sure you try to look at the positives and leave the negatives behind. Next year you'll come back, you know the team, you know the car, you don't have to learn all that stuff at the beginning of the year, and you can already start on the right foot. So, I know it's going to be a tougher battle between us next year, for sure.
