The team was on a mission when eventually they happened upon a cat. It was a big, mostly black cat with a cat outfit that looked eerily similar to Ghost's gear/armor. Soap's face lit up and he gently approached the cat, thinking the outfit was just some civilian putting cosplay on their cat, "Kittyyyy." He got to the cat and asked, as if he thought the cat could understand him, "Can I pet your belly?" The cat let out a mrr and flopped to it's side, Soap smiled and let out a quiet cheer as he pet the cat "Ey, bellyyy."
Ghost's heart nearly burst like a frag grenade from cuteness and Soap's cute joy, and Gaz couldn't stop smiling at the wholesomeness. Not even Price could hold back a smirk, wasn't often he saw something so cute on the field. Soap looked for any tags or anything that would help find the cat's owners, but only found flag patches and the name of the person the possible cosplay is portaying. Soap's face softened and he said, "Who'd let a bonnie kittlin like you wander off?" He gently scooped up the cat, which made the cat tense. Though after a while of a gentle hold and scritches, it relaxed.
Gaz noted, "The kitty's mask looks lot like Ghost's, but cat skull shaped." Ghost agreed, finding it almost uncanny the resemblance. Soap nodded, then gently said, "Suppose this lil lad belongs to someone? Likely a great tailor. This outfit's of braw quality." Gaz lightly knocked on the mask, just to figure out the material. The cat didn't even flinch, which Gaz found as impressive as the mask material, "Based on sound, this mask is of a similar material to Ghost's." Ghost shifted, subtly but the team knew him well enough to tell he was a smidge unsettled.
Soap asked, "You ok, LT?" Ghost growled softly, though they knew it was in a way of expressing worry that something's wrong. Gaz patted Ghost on the back, "I'm sure it's just a big coincidence. Even if not, I'm sure we'll be ok." Price wondered, "Where's it's owners?" Soap shrugged, "No clue. All that's here is the costume's fake info." Gaz sighed then joked, "Bollocks, I was hoping to meet the maker of the fit to get tips." The team chuckled, except Ghost. Ghost was more worried about the cat, or rather the cat's possible pack. Soap sensed Ghost's anxiety and handed the cat to him gently. Ghost got startled a tiny bit, but then held the cat. The cat seemed to nuzzle deeper into his chest and arm, like it was seeking warmth and playing up it's cuteness for a meal. Soap and Gaz nearly melted from adoration and Soap jokingly sniffled, "It's enough t'make a grown man cry." Ghost groaned worried, but didn't complain.
The team was about to leave with the cat when they heard another meow. It almost sounded like if Soap was to meow, for some reason. They went to investigate, which then the first cat jumped out of Ghost's arms and led the team. To which they found a light brown tabby with a more prominent dark brown, mohawk-like stripe along it's head and spine in a cat outfit similar to Soap's gear/armor. Gaz looked astonished, "Well, I'll be... We might have ourselves a little crew going on." Soap asked, "Where's the other two though?" They got closer and the second cat meowed like it was hungry. Gaz looked concerned and a little guilty, "We don't have anything on us that a cat can eat safely, " after a pause he then said, "but we do have something back at base, I bet." The second cat's tail perked up and it let out a prrbt, like a sign of gratitude. They followed the two cats to find the cat pack and found the cats that looked like cat versions of Price and Gaz.
The cat that looked similar to Gaz had a sleek build and bluish grey fur, and the cat that looked similar to Price had fur that looked trimmed short except it's ruff. Gaz noticed something, "Oh God... the poor babes." He approached the two gently, the third cat, the bluish grey cat, watched Gaz with a gaze like one he'd have when estimating body language. Gaz got to the fourth cat, the long haired one, and looked at it's leg, with a sad face he said, "Looks like an injury, poor thing's leg looks a bit dislocated." Soap looked very sad and Ghost looked somber, Price sighed softly then said, "Best we get it back to base asap then." The third cat stood up curiously and the second cat gently bunted heads with it, then walked towards the group like it was telling the third that the team'd help.
Gaz and Soap carefully got the fourth cat onto a blanket, with the blanket stretched as they both lifted the cat as flat as they could into a box Ghost found. After that, they headed to the truck, with the three other cats following them closely. The three cats hopped into the truck without even being coaxed in, like they knew they were safe going in there. The team found it interesting and Soap chuckled, "Clever lil kitlins, huh?" Gaz agreed, "Almost humanlike even." Ghost nodded, holding the box the fourth cat was in close and securely, occasionally petting the fourth cat to help calm it down.
After they closed the doors, making sure all were safely onboard, Price noted, "Those cats are well trained, hardly a growl from them." Soap nodded eagerly, rubbing the third cat under it's chin, "Aye, they're absolutely mensefu. Nary a single crabbit gaze." Gaz pondered, gently petting the first cat as the second cat started butting onto his lap to snuggle the first. Ghost gently stuck his head into the box, remembering the time he had rescued a cat in his late teens. The fourth cat purred as best as a borderline elder cat could, which caused Ghost to smile slightly under his mask and tear up a little. He sniffled and let out a soft huff of a chuckled, "Look at me... Getting misty eyed over a cat I barely know." The fourth cat slow blinked to him and he sniffled, cheering up a little albiet with wet eyes, "Dammit, you're set on making me feel emotions, huh?" He dried his eyes and chuckled, "Well then, you've got what you wanted... You're a good cat, the lot of you are even."
