So on rewatching for screencaps, I noticed something…

The light shine in James’ eyes goes out, as he reaches for his gun and shoots Oscar.

And guess what? It doesn’t reappear the entire rest of that scene.

Clover’s death just last episode was shown the same way - a shine of light that faded away.

In this moment, a part of James has died, and now we wait to see whether that part of him can be reborn.
