🍎 - What advice would you give to a singlet looking to be an ally?
Ask more questions. Every system is different, and there's no universal answer for most things. If you want to support the systems in your life, then ask them how they want to be supported.
I might point you at the plural etiquette questionaire if you want some ideas on what to ask, but don't be afraid to branch out.
Don't assume that one system's preferences are going to generalize to another system. Every plural group is going to work a bit differently. If you've met one system, then you've met one system.
Follow through on what you've learned. If a system says that they want you to know them individually, and you agree to do that, then put in the effort. Ask who's around, learn to spot them, and build relationships with each of them. Don't make a promise that you can't keep. It hurts when someone says that they support you and then does absolutely nothing to act on that support.
It's fine if you need some support yourself as you learn how to navigate interacting with your plural friends, but don't give up on trying if you struggle. Have a conversation about it instead. Folks can probably help you figure out whatever you're stuck on.
Keep an open mind. Systems can be weird sometimes. You don't have to totally understand what's going on to acknowledge and support someone. You've just got to hold space for them to talk about their experiences.
“I’m wearing faux fur cheetah coat from Depop, baby pink sweater, vintage butter yellow blouse, baby pink vintage circle skirt with a buttercup yellow poodle! Tying it all to together with baby blue tights, white mary janes from Amazon years ago, with oversized pearls, gold hoops, and one of my holy grail purses a vintage Vivienne Westwood pink leopard purse all from Depop! i still am always inspired by vintage fashion and strong color palettes and lately I have been pushing those parts of my style more. I feel i look like Frenchie in Grease if the movie was directed by John Waters, i love it!”
"unreflections" 16x20" oil on canvas // video id under the cut
video ID: clips of a person painting a landscape on a canvas. lots of bright colors are used and the resulting painting has an overall rainbow color scheme. the landscape is a pond with a bridge over it and a cell tower. as the person paints, text is displayed on the screen that reads:
painting my hallucinations! raw gesso makes the worst sound known to man so it must be destroyed. temperature is important to me in color, so i always do a grisaille with pthalo blue (dark/cool tones) and brunt umber (warm/mid tones). now we get sillayyyy. because i am on the psychotic spectrum, i see rainbows and ripples around everything all the time. i wanted to show what i saw through the lens of my artwork. this is kind of the point where i lost the plot and started chatting with my hallucinations telepathically while painting, but its cool. also, shoutout to my art teacher in high school for teaching me how to mix my own black and grays because paint is expensive. i got bored, so knife time. trees and foilage always look fiery to me. i also see patterns on top of things, like stripes and swirls. here it is! this will be sold at a charity auction for the Art Way San Antonio in collaboration with NAMI San Antonio. end video ID.

Something I find nice about the expedition unknown series is that when they actually find something of archeological value, the host actually tells you where it's going and why. Like "It's now in XYZ museum in [country they found it] so it can be enjoyed by everyone" or "it's part of [project] and will be valuable to research"
He searches for some silly ass stuff sometimes, but he also does things like specifically mention he can't do things because of permitting and joining under other official teams and showcasing their hard work.
