Happy National Day!
Happy National Day!
Didn’t have the time to take pictures of fireworks so here is a cinemagraph. My holidays are near and I plan to work on some projects. Do hit me up if anyone of you want to do a collab!
Finally upgraded my camera so I've decided to create a stop-motion video for fun! Do check it out and let me know what you guys think!
If you have chemistry, you only need one other thing - timing. But timing is a bitch.
UPDATES!
Hello! Sorry for not updating this space, I have been pretty busy. So here is what I’ve been up to recently:
More Than Dis
More Than Dis is a campaign that aims to create awareness on the inclusion of people with disabilities (PWDs) in the workplace by showcasing their abilities.
I have always wanted to do something for PWDs and when I heard about this project, I just couldn’t turn them down. Through this project, I got to see just how amazing these people are - overcoming their disabilities and being able to achieve so much. These people include professors from NTU and IT professionals. I am truly honored to have been able to photograph them and attain a greater insight to their inspiring stories. There are just so many life lessons not only I, but the society can learn from them.
I will be uploading the rest of the photos soon. Do check out their website @ https://morethandis.exposure.co/
These two profiles left the deepest impression on me. Despite their disabilities, both of them are really cheerful and have a positive outlook on life. The kind of strength they embody is not only inspiring but also truly admirable.
#BringingRainbowToPlaces
Do you guys still remember this project that I mentioned ages ago? This was a project I wanted to do a long time ago. Didn’t know what took me so long to execute it.
The concept of this project was simply to bring happiness to places in Singapore. Happiness is being represented by the vibrant colors of the rainbow umbrella and the blue-ish tint represents sadness which helps to accentuate the whole concept of happiness.
It is still an ongoing project, do check it out HERE!
The Lookbook Series with Sheryl S
It was really fun doing some fashion work and it made me realized how useful cinemagraphs is in conveying a variety of concepts and stories.
My friend Sheryl started this Lookbook series on her YouTube channel and 90′s fashion was the theme for her first video. She got me on board to help her with her fashion photo shoot and cinemagraphs. Do check out her video HERE!
Yeap, the last two are cinemagraphs! I will post the rest of the photos for this shoot soon! There will be more stuff coming up on her channel soon!
So yeah, that is basically what I’ve been working on recently. More stuff will be coming up soon!Do check out my Instagram to see what I am up to!

During my 6 months journey.
My six months internship with TheSmartLocal has finally ended. During this journey, I was able to see how the things that I’ve learnt in school was being applied in a new media company and I think it’s pretty cool. It has been a platform where I was able to hone my skills as a photographer.
My first personal project was “15 Elderly Singaporeans Reveal The Happiest Moments Of Their Lives”. It was a tribute to the pioneer generation who helped to build Singapore. I went around Singapore to interview and took a black and white portrait of them. I will have a post on this project sometime soon. So watch this space!
During this internship, I was given a chance to document General Elections 2015 for Mustsharenews.com. I wrote about my experiences on TheSmartLocal’s Facebook “Reflections of a Millenial on GE2015” as a photojournalist as well as a first time voter.
Other than GE2015, I attended many events like F1, USS Halloween Horror Night, preview of National Gallery and also food tastings at places like Overeasy and the Singapore Flyer. It was really fun going to these events and meet different people.
Inspired by AikBengChia’s work, I started learning how to make cinemagraphs online and made them for some of the articles on TheSmartLocal’s website. My very first try in making cinemagraphs was for a personal project “The Story Of Balestier Road In Cinemagraph GIFs - Singapore Neighbourhoods”. More cinemagraphs can be found on my Instagram by using the hashtag #cinemagraphsbynevl.
I am really lucky to meet this awesome bunch of people in TheSmartLocal. I will miss you guys! Thank you everyone who helped me. :D
Oh and I need to revamp my website. Hmm. Alright, that’s it for now. I’ll try to update this blog more often.

Rush Hour.
If you guys follow TheSmartLocal on Facebook, you've probably already come across this video that I made.
We are always rushing around, but for what? We are all moving so fast that we have forgotten how to slow down and really just take notice of the beautiful things that are happening around us.
Life is already short enough. Stop rushing, and start living.
Special thanks to @kimberrieee for being inside the video and @tippytoess for mentoring!
Follow me on Instagram and 500PX.
Hello! Sorry, it has been awhile since I've updated this blog because I am currently doing an internship as a creative so things are a little bit busy now.
About a month ago I collaborated with Kim and Ileane to do a pole dance photo shoot at Pole Lab. It was really beautiful and I am amazed by the things they can do! The strength needed to do each of those moves was really…wow.
One problem I faced while doing this shoot was the lack of space. It was really bad. I’ve got to make do with what I have and here are some of the photos I came out with. Enjoy.
Oh and I was thinking of changing my tumblr URL. Suggestions?
Do follow me on Instagram, I have a few ongoing projects there like #nev52, #facesofTSL and #friendsonfilm. So yeah, do check my Instagram out!

Hello! Earlier this week I went to Lower Pierce Reservoir with my bros and with their help I have created some nice long exposure photos! Really love the one where Mitsuaki hold the blue color light and also the photo where Mitchell did the hadouken.
You guys should also give steel wool photography a try. It is really fun, but remember safety first and please don’t set the place on fire. There are many tutorials online but basically you will need steel wool (duh), some strings, whisk, lighter and also some sort of protection gear (long pants, long sleeve shirt, cap)!
I think this is really a good place to do some couple photoshoots, so if anyone want to do a couple photoshoot please contact me for more enquires!
Do check more of my work out on Instagram and 500PX!
hi! was the journey to get to instant woodneuk very hard? I heard there are steep slopes and all!
Hi, yeah there are steep slopes but if you are careful it should be fine!
Hi! Recently I went to explore the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station with my dear friend HS (who as a really nice smile). It is really packed when i went there probably because it is a public holidays. By the way, the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will only open its doors to the public during public holidays. So yeah, do take note of it.
Here is a brief information about the railway station:
- The railway station is opened by Sir Cecil, on 2nd May 1932.
- It was operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the main railway operator in Malaysia.
- Railway operation ceased from 1 July 2011.
More information can be found on Wikipedia or URA website.
I really love the architecture and design of the place. There is this Harry Potter feel to it. But sadly they have removed most of the tracks, leaving only a small part of it.
Guitar.
Sorry, no i do not know how to play the guitar. Played around with Photoshop yesterday and this is what I came out with. Heh, love double exposures.
can you help me do a photoshoot?
Sure! Email me or something!
