Hate or love Lilith Sorrengail, you cannot deny that she is really similar to Xaden.
Both of them can do anything to protect their loved ones (especially Violet), and they do protect them in their own fucked up ways. For the two of them, there is no difference in keeping someone alive and keeping someone safe.
Both of them have done questionable shit, have hurt who they loved in the process, but do not regret it, because they kept the person alive after everything.
I will die on the hill that Lilith Sorrengail was a great example of good intentions, subjectively poor execution. She loves her children always, but her priorities are muddled. If you are still firm in your principles after inadvertently hurting the ones you love, I think that love is incredibly strong. Whether or not that love is healthy is a different discussion !
I can't wait for Onyx Storm to come out and for us to realize the true power couple in this series isn't Xaden and Violet, it's actually Mama Sorrengail and Papa Sorrengail

I just read the synopsis and I can already tell I will not be ok for a while after I finish this book.
I read A Fragile Enchantment earlier this year and really enjoyed Allison Saft's writing. So overall I have really high hopes for this.

Who sleeps in the otherβs lap? Rhaenys. Sheβs a tall woman, but her husband is an even taller man. She fits against him perfectly.
Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on clothes? Bold of you to assume they would be mad at each other for being half-naked.
Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway? Rhaenys just wants Corlys to come to bed and Corlys ends up reading the Westerosi equivalent of a trashy romance novel.

Bake Off ft. The HOTD Cast

Milly Alcock - Struggling to operate the oven. She doesnβt know what temperature the cake is supposed to bake at, but sheβs really really trying and we love her for it. Will probably pull a Jade Thirlwall and start rocking herself on the floor. (See the photo at the end for reference.)
Emily Carey - Sheβs the one thatβs really precise about measurements. Theyβre using the back of a knife as a leveler and everything. Sheβs also eating strawberries as they go along because itβs honestly such a vibe and we love that.
Emma DβArcy - An absolute GOD at baking. Theyβd probably finish before everyone else and sit back while drinking their Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it. Would also win the whole show. The entire cast has no idea where they got it.
Olivia Cooke - Constantly talking to herself. Sheβs ready to bust out a cookbook at this point. Stress eating the whole way through and really really wants a martini. She will steal sips of Emmaβs Negroni when theyβre not looking.
Paddy Considine - Heβs not taking any of this seriously. AT ALL. Treats the tent like his personal runway. Broβs quoting RuPaulβs Drag Race every other second. Heβll start frosting his cake and say that itβs giving pastry chef realness.
Matt Smith - Regretting all his life choices. A bit of a basic bitch and chose to make a Victoria Spongecake at one point. Heβs actually an okay baker but his station is next to Paddyβs, which means having to listen to six different renditions of Whoβs Loving You?
Fabien Frankel - Secretly super competitive. He really wants to win this even though everyone knows itβs going to be Emma. Heβs glaring at everyone because of how much he wants to win but is constantly making heart eyes at Eve Best.
Rhys Ifans - Loud. Trying to screw everyone over and ends up not finishing in time. Heβs eating chocolate in the corner while everyone elseβs creations are being judged. Also takes great pleasure in stealing Fabienβs ingredients to mess with him.
Steve Toussaint - The only sane one there. Just vibing with himself and the food he makes. The best baker of the bunch behind Emma. Always checking on Eve to make sure she hasnβt burned herself and/or had a nervous breakdown.
Eve Best - Having a nervous breakdown. Needs her Emotional Support Steve. Sheβs nervously giggling the whole show. Actually a decent baker and no one is more shocked than Eve herself.

I pretry much agree with all of these lol. Milly confused and panicked. Emily probably vibing, but could also be disastrous. Emma doesn't seem to like the quizzes in past interviews, so they could maybe have a nervous breakdown? But they could also excel at baking; they're a dark horse. Liv would definitely be drinking and laughing for no particular reason. Paddy would be very camp and not give a fuck about anything. Possibly swearing. Matt would give that sheer top lad energy and be a tornado of limbs and giggles. Rhys would be messing with everyone, especially Liv and Fabien. Pure sabotage and chocolate. Fabien would be upset he got any mess on his fancy clothes. π€£ Steve would absolutely KILL if it weren't for Eve clearly having a meltdown beside him. He's way too focused on the wife. Eve can't handle time constraints well and she'll definitely get flour in her hair at some point.

Eveβs breakdown comes from the fact she practiced at home before the competition because she is secretly (not so secretly?) competitive and she likes to be prepared. However, when the time comes to actually bake, itβs far more complicated than what she was doing at home and the time restriction is killer. But her practice pays off because some of it is transferable skill and it makes her pretty decent among the group. Not to mention that Steve is there to subtly remind her not to miss that step that makes or breaks the recipe.
