What is your least favourite summon?

// welll it depends on the game, I suppose... but in most games, while I don’t dislike him, I don’t tend to use Ifrit/other fire-based summons all that much and tend to favor ice/water-based ones instead.

Favorite Monster

They aren't my favorite in terms of fighting them, but in design and just generally thinking they're neat? Coeurls. I love the electric kitties.

Favorite Summon

Leviathan, 100%. The whole sea serpent look is very cool, and I generally give my favorite party members either Leviathan or Shiva. ( though Aerith always gets the Chocobo/Mog because how cute is that? )

// Hmm... favourite Final Fantasy... I have to say XV simply because of how much I love the characters, but it’s followed very closely by 7R and XII.

What is your fondest memory from playing the games?

// Honestly... I think it has to be in FFXV. The time spent running around avoiding progressing the plot completing all the side quests I could find, just enjoying the openness and the character interactions ( and the chocobos! ) and Prompto’s photos documenting it all.

I have a bit of a soft spot for XV in general. It was my first FF and I still really love it.

Out of all the Final Fantasy you have played, which one was the hardest for you?

// There have been a handful of Final Fantasy games that I've started but haven't finished yet, most of which are simply cases of getting distracted by other games and stuff like that, but ONE of them is because I got completely and utterly stuck on a boss fight --

and that would be Final Fantasy 3 ( DS version )

I honestly think that I might have soft locked myself with poor party planning because no matter what I tried I kept getting killed by the goofiest looking dragon ever, the Salamander. One of these days I need to go back in and restart the game, tailoring my team from the beginning specifically to beat that boss so I can get past it. xD

// On the subject of young Cloud... some commentary on my og ff7 playthrough that's really pretty spoilery so here, have a read more:

I knew, going in, that there would be moments where Cloud would lose control of himself to Sephiroth/Jenova's influence. I got the impression that he would see it all and want to stop it, but be unable to act as his body moved of its own accord.

What I didn't expect, was Cloud seeing it all from the outside while having a sort of out-of-body experience from the perspective of his younger self, desperately trying to get himself to stop but unable to do anything but shout and plead and try to pull himself away to no avail.

Not Infantryman Cloud, not even Recruit Cloud, but the kid who sat up on the water tower, looked to the stars and dreamed of being a SOLDIER, a hero, like Sephiroth...

Sephiroth, the man who currently appeared to be forcing him to betray the people he cares about most. (Could he see Cloud standing there, telling his older self not to be afraid in the hope that he'll snap out if it? I feel like he might have.)

If this happens in the remake I will cry. (Again, cry again)

Kids & Teens

OG vs Remake changes:

Aerith:

in the OG she wore the blue outfit when Elmyra found her at the train station, and the orange one for the rest of her childhood flashback;

in the Remake it's the opposite, she wears the orange outfit in the train graveyard vision that refers to her childhood in Shinra HQ, and the blue one during Elmyra's flashback.

Cloud:

in the OG he wore a green t-shirt with black trousers during the "promise" flashback, and the white-blue outfit at the time of the incident on Mt. Nibel.

in the Remake, during the "promise" flashback, he wears a white t-shirt with blue jeans.

Tifa:

originally, she had to wear the teal dress during the memory of the incident on Mt. Nibel and a white dress during the flashback of the "promise" but in the end the devs decided to use the teal dress for both scenes;

in the Remake it's the opposite also for her, she wears a white dress when she's a child and the teal dress at the time of the "promise".

'My friend'? 'Beloved one'? It was an odd sense of familiarity coming from a man he'd only met twice, both times with an intense clashing of blades. He barely knew him beyond his enthusiastic zeal, and yet... Roche spoke like they were in some way closer for their brief encounters. Just who was he, really? 

“Kinda surprised they let you, after what happened last time.” Cloud gave a short nod, his stance relaxing a bit, though his guard did not entirely fall. He imagined Shinra wouldn't have been all that happy to have their SOLDIER turn around in the middle of a fight and help a handful of AVALANCHE insurgents and an ex-First Class get away with stolen materials. “Guess I should thank you for that. Still, seems like you went to a lot of trouble to track me down for... what, a rematch? Or did you have something else in mind this time?”

This was terrifying.

He already knew before he asked that she had been hit, and that it didn’t look good. Jessie’s reply only cinched the conformation. The air was still punctuated by gunfire, the loud bang of weapons firing and the sharp ping of bullets hitting metal. They were both behind cover for the moment, but their position was far from secure and wouldn’t be safe for long. When she reached for him, he had offered an arm in support as she tried to stand, but clearly they would need another plan.  

“You’re gonna be okay. We just have to get you out of here first, yeah?” He had a healing materia fitted into his gear ( the one she had given him, in fact ). An attempt could be made to use it, but it would probably take more than that to heal her completely, and they had little time to spare. “Do you think you could manage if you lean on me?” If not, there was the option of carrying her... but having both of his hands occupied would put them at a disadvantage if they wound up having to fight their way out.   

Whatever they ended up doing, one thing was certain in that there was no way he would leave her behind. Not a chance.

“You got a better way? I'd like to see it.” Then again, maybe telling Barret to do it himself wasn’t exactly the best idea, considering that Cloud was technically in his employ...

“For the record, it's merc, as in mercenary...” Cloud sighed, gloved hand momentarily rubbing at the back of his neck. Word of mouth publicity was good, sure, but once the wrong words got to circulating... it was difficult to stop them. He’d already had more than one person inquire about his inventory. “Not a merchant. I'm for hire, not selling things.”
