18th read of 2026 is "No Democracy Lasts Forever: How the Constitution Threatens the United States" by Erwin Chemerinsky. The kinda book that makes you go "Finally, someone said it!"

Chemerinsky (a lawyer by training and legal scholar by trade) doesn't mince words as he points out the glaringly obvious flaws with the US Constitution—everything from the Electoral College, to the Senate, to partisan gerrymandering, to the filibuster, to the lack of term limits for Supreme Court Justices—all of which he recommends we either amend or supersede in order to foster true democracy (something the Founding Fathers took great pains to prevent).

I doubt it'll move the needle much in today's political climate, but it's a refreshingly direct, informed, practical, and level-headed response to the US's many ongoing political crises.
