These Strawberry Doughnuts with Cream Cheese Glaze are a delightful treat that combines the sweetness of strawberries with the creaminess of cream cheese. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 egg. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 cup milk. For the glaze:. 4 oz cream cheese, softened. 1 cup powdered sugar. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2-3 tablespoons milk. Red food coloring optional. Sprinkles for decoration optional.
Instructions: Grease a doughnut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius. Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Combine the strawberry puree, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a different bowl. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together until they are well combined. For each doughnut well, fill the pan about two thirds of the way to the top with batter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, in a preheated oven. The doughnuts should be taken out of the oven and allowed to cool in the pan for a few minutes before being transferred to a wire rack to finish cooling. Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth to make the cream cheese glaze. For a pink glaze, add red food coloring if desired. After letting any excess glaze drip off, dip each cooled doughnut into it and place it back on the wire rack. If desired, add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet. Before serving, let the glaze settle for a few minutes. Savor your homemade doughnuts with strawberries!
