with the survivors of warren ellis, cameron stewart, brian woods, and many others speaking up, it’s time for comic fans to discuss why the comics industry is such a hotbed for predatory behavior + sexual harrassment and what we can do to make it better

why do so many men in this industry feel entitled to prey on young women? maybe it’s because 

comic companies continue to work with offenders even after multiple callouts (scott lobdell comes to mind 

there are SO many older men in this industry that continue to act like it’s still 1980 

the hypersexualization of women in comics, specifically young women/teens

the lack of actual consequences for these men

and what can do we do about this? i honestly don’t know bc we as fans can’t really make the sweeping changes that executives and companies need to make but at the very least we can try to:

believe victims & uplift their voices

no-platform abusers

including not buying their works & not supporting their projects

help teach younger women & girls that attention from men like this is predatory and not desirable

keep records of their behavior!! how many people have been bullied into deleting their threads after delusional fans send them hate & threats! screenshot and archive!
