You mean to tell me… the so called word “pshaw” is on the official list for the New York Times wordle but “mutts” isn’t????????? (Referring to my NYT au wordle post from the other week.) I knowwww I didn’t actually have to follow their list, but I thought it would be a good rule to follow for some reason.

If you've paid close attention to previous posts, you may have seen me show or mention that Rusty eventually gets a new body and there are a few reasons for this...
Cyberpunk -> Solarpunk
This post is actually the first time I'm directly saying that the NYT au will kind of eventually turn into a New Green Hill (NGH) au, which takes place reasonably further into the future than the present day I've mostly shown up until now. After the Robotniks have been defeated and the mobians are able to reclaim their home, the buildings and machines that made up NYC clearly still remain. The damage to the land made through destroying wildlife, plants, and terraforming the land unfortunately cannot be undone. But there is still hope! Imagine something like the image below but if it were done to New Yoke!
For me, the tone shift that comes with cyber to solar definitely calls for Rusty to get a new design that aligns with the more organic look of NGH. Not to mention the use of renewable energy rather than constantly tapping from the paradox prism (who knows if the thing actually has unlimited power...)
Wear and tear
So the thing about Rusty Rose is that she's well... rusty. While her condition in the present is definitely manageable, it's inevitable that her body would start to wear out, just like any other machine would if it were functioning all day, every day. Of course while under the control of the Robotniks, she would get tune ups here and there (but not as much as she should've tbh) so she was definitely maintained. When she rejected the council and joined the resistance she would get help from Nine, though by the time NGH is a thing she's definitely due for an upgrade of some kind.
Helps Sonic feel better
Now of course, another reason is that this design is SO CUTE and she's been physically removed from the Robotnik's control as much as she possibly could be. It definitely still makes Sonic a little sad sometimes knowing that Rusty can never go back to how she was, but this helps soothe his guilt most of the time. You see... if Sonic were to be asked on his death bed if he had any regrets he'd say with no hesitation 1) Not being able to stop New Yoke from being built in the first place and 2) Letting his shortcomings lead to Rusty Amy being captured and robotocized. It's truly one of those things he'll never 100% get over and will always blame himself to an extent, but life moves forward...
And one last thing... Sonic was never really thrilled about calling her Rusty but would call her as such to respect her wishes. Though after many years and several talks about it, they've come to the compromise to not use either Amy or Rusty but instead Rosie 🌹

Sonic Prime: Round Two:
Directly following the end of Sonic Prime, not all is well on South Island- or the Shatterverses. The Chaos Council has discovered that the repairing of the Paradox Prism has given each Shatterverse a full, individual Prism instead of a piece. And like Eggman, the Chaos Council is a one-trick pony: They want it all for themselves. It's up to Sonic and Shadow- along with their friends and foes including Silver, Metal Sonic, and Cream among others- to delve into the Shatterverses and stop the Chaos Council once more.
More Than A Victim:
A multi-chapter adventure fic centered around exploring Maria Robotnik's character, finding a way to save her, and confronting what it means to be sacrificed for someone else's narrative. The official summary is as follows:
Maria has come to a realization: she's going to die. Naturally, the only solution is to warp time and space to prevent her own death.
With a new friend in Amy Rose, Maria plans to use White Space to cure herself, stop the bullet that ends her life, and vent some long-repressed anger about her situation. Along the way, she'll show off the girl behind her ever-cheerful mask, make some new friends, and cause more than her fair share of explosions.
After all, why should hedgehogs be the ones having all the fun? She's gotta make up for lost time.
"Do you ever wonder how the sacrificial lamb feels about being slaughtered? Do you think they ever wished it could have gone differently? To selfishly want to survive, even if it hurt others? Is the lamb allowed the little mercy of anger at the greater good?"

This is actually one of the AU August 2026 prompts I neevr finished, the list of which is on my blog's pinned post! This is Metal Star and Rusty Rose's reunion scene (sort of). Did I introduce you guys to Rusty and Metal questionable qpr? I don't think I ever fully did LMAO. Surprise!
The reason I say it's "sort of" their reunion scene is because Rusty had her memories of Star taken away after he escaped the Chaos Council. Star has to track her down and convince her to take his (stolen) hard drive which contains those memories. This scene is their reunion after she gets them back, hence the affectionate posing.
Also I've literally never done a full art piece with background please give feedback. Or praise me. Or just give this attention I fucking cooked here please make it worth it
