For fuck’s sake, The Handmaid’s Tale was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual.
The Handmaid’s Tale 2x02, Unwomen
Reminder that this was the **hottest** sex scene of the show (maybe of any show, if I can be so bold). All of June’s emotions erupt out of her in this moment as she takes control over Nick (who’s simply lovin’ in).
Every once in a while I go back to watching this scene and it just turns me on every time.
It reminds me of the argument people have made about The Handmaid’s Tale when they say the handmaids aren’t *really* being raped because they technically had a choice.
Yes, if I had a choice between being raped once a month or being sent off to die slowly and horribly of starvation and/or radiation sickness, I’d pick the former. Most women would.
Doesn’t mean I’m still not being raped though. Because I wasn’t given any real choice.

I’m just reminded of last week’s episode where the Waterfords visit Canada and while officials give Commander Waterford a normal itinerary, they give Serena one that consists of nothing but pictures.

And regardless you can’t cancel brunch. It happens with or without Rafael. Because it was never about him.

This is my project. I fought four years to get it made. It’s my telenovela, my culture, my story I’m bringing to the screen. Yet, somehow, with all of that, I am only worth half as much as her. It’s not right.
I can’t believe Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley heard it was my birthday!
