If you are like me and always need to be working on something to keep your anxiety under control, during this quarentine why not helping scientists by looking at pictures of some neat penguins? or even galaxies? Thereâs this site call Zooniverse, where you can help on scientific projects by analyzing pictures and data! Right now my favorite project has returned, called Penguin Watch (where yeah, you get to watch penguins, itâs amazing)
you basically have to analyse photos looking for penguins, their chicks, eggs or even predators and human interaction But there are lots of interesting projects you can help in areas such as biology, physics, history or even art:Â
Oh and the best part, some institutions even accept it as volunteering/service hour requirements for graduation and scholarships!! Itâs helping me a lot during this time, so I thought it was worth sharingÂ

"Are you serious about this?" General Iroh asks her, weeks after they've first arrived, weeks of Zuko's awkward affection and his strong, steady support.
Yue knows what he's asking.
She was raised to support her tribe. She was raised to hate the Fire Nation. She was raised to put her family and her tribesmen before all else.
She was raised like a pig to slaughter, sacrificed to the Fire Nation as a way to secure their tribe's safety. If her father had asked her to sacrifice herself, she likes to think that she would have said yes.
But he didn't ask.
Zuko always asks.
It's easier to give her answer than she thought it'd be.

General Iroh nods and doesn't say anything more.
A week later, one of Zuko's people comes to her in the morning and hands her a heavy package.
Inside is a coat, just like the one she wears now, except it's different. She doesn't know how they managed to make this all way up here.
It's dyed Fire Nation red except for the fur on the edges and inside, which is a bright blue. Thread of the same color is used to heavily embroider the jacket, detailed shimmering blue flames stretching across the red leather. Among the flames are delicately embroidered snowflakes and even though she looks for over an hour, she can't find any two that are exactly the same.
She wears the coat that day and Zuko smiles when he sees her, wide and instant and beautiful.
She doesn't know what face her father makes because she's not looking at him.
Fwiw while you can flood the abortion snitch internet hotline with lorem ipsum and memes, it is probably way more effective to make credible but vague claims that take time to sift through. Put in a valid county and zip code. The goal isn't to scream "fuck you" even if it's how you feel, the goal is to waste their time and make it as miserable and difficult as possible for anyone who has to go through these claims to act on them
I think it's worth noting that if you ARE going to report something to the snitch line, yes you SHOULD use actual counties and zip codes, but...also try not to pick counties and places that are full of already marginalized people? I know it's tempting not to do that extra research but sending EXTRA government/police attention to BIPOC neighborhoods even in the name of trolling won't help.
So, here, let me help you with that pesky research. These are the ten most affluent neighborhoods in Texas. There are a LOT of politicians and celebrities that hail from these neighborhoods. Terrell Hills - Bexar County, 78209 Bellaire - Harris County, 77401 Highland Park - Dallas County, 75209 Melissa - Collin County, 75454 West University Place - Harris County, 77005 Trophy Club - Denton County, 76262 Willow Park - Parker County, 76087 Southlake - Tarrant County, 72096 Fair Oaks Ranch - Comal, Bexar, or Kendall Counties, 78015 Coppell - Dallas County, 75006 What a shame it would be if people were to report these places as hotbeds of flagrant law-breaking. Gosh.

This is great since I've been picking zip codes and hospitals at random around their biggest cities. This is much more effective.
So if you want to help crash the reporting site for the Texas Abortion law, but donât want to implicate any doctors or clinics in a crime, I have a solution!
Use Crisis Pregnanacy Centers as the clinic location the service was preformed at!
For example, here are a list of crisis pregnancy centers in the Austin area that do not provide abortions, but do harass women out of getting medical care!

itâs been said here b4, but apparently needs repeating that bisexual women do not get any special fucking privilege when it comes to cishet men.
A lot of cishet men like and obsess over the IDEA of a bisexual woman. But often times all those things they idealize about us and the assumptions they place on us are the very reasons they start to resent and despise us when they date us. i canât tell u the amount of cishet men who have verbally supported my bisexuality and then once they are with me/dating me, my bisexuality is the very thing that makes them insecure or controlling. Because my bisexuality and how it influences my life and relationships does NOT go away once I am with a cishet man. and a lot of them are really uncomfortable with that.
When a bi woman is with a cishet man, itâs p fucking telling that most ppl react with eye-rolling and mockery. When really we should be making sure theyâre okay. Iâm not saying every cishet man will abuse us, I know plenty of cishet men who are decent and normal ppl who love their bi gfs. But considering the rates of abuse and assault bi women are facing, we should INHERENTLY be making sure that any member of the LGBT community is safe with a partner who is cishet instead of belittling them. And if that partner is treating them right, we should be celebrating that. We should be happy that a bisexual woman is with a good partner.
I know this is all stuff thatâs been said before, but the amount of shit I still see about bi women with cishet men, it apparently just needs to be repeated until you all fucking understand that bi women are members of your community and if youâre not protecting us, then your rhetoric is actively harming us.
Cishet straight men will often get violent or insanely abusive or controlling at their bi woman partner once they realise her sexuality is an intrinsical part of her identity as a human being and not something he can pull out at parties & to get sexual gratification from. Suddenly attraction to women is a threat; itâs something to be controlled. To be held over your head, suddenly you canât be trusted with either gender, accusations that pertain to âWhy keep hold of your sexuality or have pride in it unless it benefits me?â
Cishet straight men are used to seeing bisexual women as walking sex toys that they see in porn, or a novelty, or something to spice up theyâre dying relationship. They donât see your sexuality as just...sexuality. They see it as something for their own benefit, until it breaks into insecurity. When we challenge that notion that weâre more than objects and that we are actual people with sexual agency. It scares them, they donât like it.
It makes me feel sick seeing & hearing about how many bi women have been in this relationship and how we know this exact feeling. It makes me even sicker seeing people call it privilege.
My X's wife had cheered on him with a friend of hers. He in turn was losing his mind while we are together about every single guy friend I had. I'm a Tom Boy, I have lots of male friends. He said something to the effect of "why can't you have more girl-friends, I'd be less threatened by them." I didn't realize he didn't know I was bisexual. I got to watch his soul leave his body as the light extinguished from his eyes. I think we lasted 3 more weeks.
On the plus side, he apologized several years later.

The story depicted a human astronaut, a representative of the Galactic Republic, visiting the planet Cybrinia inhabited by robots. He finds the robots divided into functionally identical orange and blue races, one of which has fewer rights and privileges than the other. The astronaut decides that due to the robotsâ bigotry, the Galactic Republic should not admit the planet. In the final panel, he removes his helmet, revealing himself to be a black man.
Apparently the Comics Code Authority tried to prevent the author from making the main character black.
Boy did they! It took the writer (and the company) threatening the CCA with a lawsuit and telling the guy to fuck off (literally) to get this thing printed:Â

This really made âem go bananas in the Code czarâs office. âJudge Murphy was off his nut. He was really out to get usâ, recalls [EC editor] Feldstein. âI went in there with this story and Murphy says, âIt canât be a Black manâ. But ⊠but thatâs the whole point of the story!â Feldstein sputtered. When Murphy continued to insist that the Black man had to go, Feldstein put it on the line. âListenâ, he told Murphy, âyouâve been riding us and making it impossible to put out anything at all because you guys just want us out of businessâ. [Feldstein] reported the results of his audience with the czar to Gaines, who was furious [and] immediately picked up the phone and called Murphy. âThis is ridiculous!â he bellowed. âIâm going to call a press conference on this. You have no grounds, no basis, to do this. Iâll sue youâ. Murphy made what he surely thought was a gracious concession. âAll right. Just take off the beads of sweatâ. At that, Gaines and Feldstein both went ballistic. âFuck you!â they shouted into the telephone in unison. Murphy hung up on them, but the story ran in its original form.[18]
You know, itâs times like this that I am deeply comforted, knowing that history isnât just everyone being nice and polite and better than the current generation. Sometimes it really is just people bellowing swear words over the phone to get shit done.
And by the same token, the past was not a flat, monochrome landscape of bigotry. This comic came out in 1953. That is a full year before the Brown v. Board of Education decision, meaning not only was segregation the law of the land, but the process of dismantling it hadnât even begun. Integration wasnât even a political topic yet, because there was no integration actually happening, and as far as everyone in 1953 had reason to believe, there wasnât going to be any any time soon.Â
And yet, in 1953, two white Jewish guys from Brooklyn not only wanted to put out this comic, but were willing to swear at the Comics Code Authority and threaten to hold a press conference â which, by the way, was enough of a threat that the censors did back down; they didnât laugh and say âWho would care about your press conference?â
And, not only that, but in the end they did put out the comic, this comic that at the time all but explicitly said the United States of the day would not be fit to join the Galactic Republic.
All of which is pretty damn cool.
The fact that the Comics Code Authority managed to keep power at all has nothing to do with the CCA being right or powerful and everything to do with all the scared white people in power who worked night and day to try and get comics banned outright.Â
Three cheers to EC for telling the CCA to go fuck itself in this and every instance they did so. And three cheers to everyone who pushed boundaries wherever possible so that we have the comics-scape we have now. To call it impossible when the CCA hit is to put it lightly.
