“That is an unfortunate side effect.” Claire stepped back to look for some cream to put on the bruise. Once she found it she walked back to Daisy and applied the cream. “Do you use your powers often?” She then asked. 

Daisy bit down on her lip when the woman started searching for something to help her with. “Yeah,” Daisy murmured, her eyes still on the woman. (Not trusting people — Daisy wished she could have claimed it was the million-dollar bounty on her head… but that was something she had learned long before SHIELD.) “Unfortunate,” she agreed. Daisy offered the woman her arm when she came back with the cream, her eyes searching the other’s face for answers to questions she was too lost to ask. “Try not to when I can avoid it,” Daisy admitted. “When you can break the Earth in half, you have to be careful about usage,” she tried to quip, but she figured her humor far missed the point. “Only in emergencies.”

“That is... a lot of power to have.” Claire shook her head and sighed some. Once she was done applying the cream she handed the tube over to Daisy. “You should keep this with you. It helps clear it up as well as any pain from it.” Claire stepped back and looked over the girl once more. “You look young. But something tells me your aren’t. And I know you want to help especially with everything going on but please don’t do it at the expense of your health or life.”

Despite not being a mutant Claire still wanted to help out. Everything that the government was doing was disgusting in her opinion. And this was her way off giving back. Currently she had just finished with a young man when she heard movement from one of the side rooms. She walked over and spotted the woman trying to bandage herself. Claire stepped fully into the room and looked at the bruise. “Actually I think you should relax for a bit. What happened?” She asked with a gentle smile.

Daisy’s eyes fell back to her arm at the question. What happened? A vague shrug before she offered the stranger a small smile. “Nothing serious.” A lie. A bold one at that. “I just… It happens any time I use my powers.” They were in a mutant safehouse — so she assumed that the stranger was either a mutant herself or someone they trusted.

It was a mutant safehouse, but it had turned out that they were willing to let Daisy hang around considering that she had been helping Erik. Daisy tried not to hang out too long, after all, the price on her head attracted a lot of heat. But she needed medical aid and the only place that was close was here. So, she was sitting in a side room with a first aid kit on the floor and carefully wrapping up her left arm that was purple from her wrist up to the middle of her upper arm. Hearing someone approach, Daisy looked up and offered them a half-smile, “I’ll be out of here in a minute,” she promised quietly. “But if you have any medical talents… I could really use some right now.”

Selene Lebonair, 26, Werewolf

BIOGRAPHY

TW: Abuse, Murder

Selene was born in Fort Mill, South Carolina but was adopted before she turned one year old. The couple seemed good on paper but in real life they were a mess and she had to grow up in a very unstable home in Spartenburg .  Her father was an alcoholic and her mother couldn’t care less about having her or her older adopted brother. For years she suffered emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her drunken father and her mother did nothing to stop it.  At first she tried to hide and resist but after a while she just accepted it. Since she didn’t have any friends or anyone else to talk to she became withdrawn and kept to herself.  

Just as she hit her pre-teen years she grew tired of the abuse and devised a plan to leave. The plan had originally included her brother but when the time came for them to leave nothing went as planned. Their father found out causing Selene to leave on her own while his attention was focused on her brother.

Knowing that they wouldn’t care enough to try and find her she wondered around some until she found herself in New Orleans. She had just started feeling the effects of being a werewolf when she came across a pack who took her in and guided her. They taught her how to survive and helped her adjust to everything. Not long after she turned sixteen she was out with another shopping and when they came back they found the pack dead. Cops knew it murder but had no leads on who did it. Without knowing exactly who the person was and if they would be coming back they both decided to leave. Once again Selene was traveling through the states but this time she wasn’t alone. After a year of just drifting they ended up in New York.Figuring that it was the best place to stay the settled down in the city and quickly got used to it. Selene was able to get into NYU, attending Tisch School of Arts while minoring in creative writing.  Once she was done there she applied to a few different locations for jobs and ended up going to be a journalist for BITE.

Selene was born with the name Ada and was given the last name of her adoptive family not long afterwards. When she ran away she decided to change her name as a way to get a new start. She decided on the name Selene after doing a bit of research. She then took on the last name of the pack that she had joined which is what she still goes by today.

She is fully aware of the fact that she was adopted and she knows that there is a possibility that they may still be alive. But she isn’t quite sure if she really cares enough to find them. In her mind they didn’t care enough to keep her so she isn’t going to go out of her way to look for them.

When she realized that staying in New York would be a long term thing Selene took steps to get her GED. She knew that she needed to study a lot and went out of her way to get a tutor to help her. When she passed she was relieved and really wasn’t thinking about college but her tutor convinced her that it was a good idea. After looking at a few places Selene decided she wanted to stay in state and applied. She had used her journals as portfolios and ended up getting into NYU.

As a way to deal with everything that was going on in the house Selene started to write. At first she wrote about her feelings but as time went on she used writing as an escape. She made characters out of the people around her and those that she wished were around. When she ran away her journals were the only thing that she took with her. Those are the only psychical reminded of her past life.

Despite enjoying her job as a journalist really wants to become an author or write for tv. She enjoys coming up with new characters and being in control of how their stories end. It also helps her deal with everything and keeps her from losing her mind.

Selene rarely thinks about her adoptive family but when she does she often wonders what happened to her brother. She feels bad for leaving him and never going back but she also doesn’t want to get caught in that web again. Its one of the few things she feels guilt about.

After running away she had to lie and steal in order to survive. It was something her chosen family her to teach her not to do but despite that and now having a job she still finds herself sometimes lying to get what she needs.
