a cute concept that i’m probably gonna write over christmas when finals stops kicking my ass

• Peter Parker waking up in a cold sweat after a nightmare involving fishbowl fucker.

• He’s staying at the lake house because he’s in hiding after what said fishbowl fucker did

• Pepper comes into his room because she heard him scream for someone in his sleep

• Morgan woke up too and followed, and sees her mom holding Peter and trying to get him to calm down

• Pepper wants to get him a glass of water because he said his throat hurts, but at the same time she doesn’t wanna leave him alone

• Morgan offers to stay with him while her mom goes and does that, and Pepper doesn’t see the harm because Peter is fully aware of his actual surroundings now, and his just a little shaken up.

• Pepper leaves and Morgan climbs in his bed, and asks what’s wrong, and Peter says he just had a bad dream

• Morgan says that she has bad dreams sometimes too, and tells him about the time she had one after watching something she shouldn’t have on her iPad (probably gonna be something like Happy Tree Friends because I watched an episode as a kid, not knowing the difference bUT OH BOY DID I SOON LEARN)

• She tells him that her daddy used to sing her a song when she had bad dreams to make them go away, and Peter gets emotional at the mention of Tony.

• She starts singing “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin as she makes Peter lay down in his bed

• At the end, she boops him on the nose, saying that’s what keeps the bad dreams away, because that’s what Tony always told her.

• Pepper comes back with the water, and watches for a few minutes as Morgan sings to her brother, making her emotional as well because she remembers Tony singing it.

• Morgan falls asleep in Peter’s arms, and after taking one sip of water, he follows suit.

• Pepper takes a picture, before leaving them be for the night, knowing that Peter’s mind is safe with his innocent sister, and Morgan is safe in the arms of her big brother.

peter, after everything he’s been through, starts to have a nightmare. he starts to shake a bit, jump, and mj can even hear him whisper “no... ‘s not r’al...” to himself.

it breaks her heart.

so, she gently shakes him awake, softly saying his name.

he jolts up with wide eyes, and meets hers, still shaking.

“hey... it’s ok, nerd. you’re safe now.”

she can tell that peter doesn’t feel comfortable sleeping yet, so she just says,

“i found a movie on here. it seems depressing. and hilarious. still got that adapter?”

i just thought of a brilliant way they could get rid of mcu spidey while still having the story make sense, if they can use spider-man for the literal length of a post credit scene.

imagine peter freaking out about his identity reveal and approaching dr strange in a panic, and begs him for help. to keep himself and those he loves safe.

stephen offers him a solution, but it’s not one he’s gonna like.

“what i can do, is open a portal to another dimension-“

“what, didn’t mysterio make that up?”

“yes... but the multiverse is in fact real, and quite possibly the only way to get you to safety.”

“so wait.. you want me to abandon this dimension? entirely?”

“don’t worry, you’re friends & aunt may will still be there. that part will be just as it was before you got outed.”

“oh, ok..”

“but there is a catch. all this... everyone you met because of the avengers... well, you won’t remember any of it.”

“what?”

“it’s the only way to-“
