ramble and verity ep3 spoiler below
honestly i feel so bad for verity watching all of this and i get why mob did what he did but i feel like things could've gone so much different... (obv it wouldn't work for the sake of pacing but)
this led to me thinking about derek (when he's stuck in front of his pc) meeting verity really hard... derek thinking why not since he's stuck here anyways and starts talking to verity, not leaving him (mostly cus he couldn't) and ends up not only learning and understanding his feelings, but also trying to teach verity how to communicate with people and how to actually form relationships...
derek was different from any of his previous owners because with the infinite knowledge, he doesnt NEED verity for anything, and even if he needed... well its the King's realm so he actually couldn't help
unlike mob who pretended he's willing to come back, derek was genuinely entertained and glad there is something keeping him sane while he's moving closer and closer to death... GAHH the concept of verity finally understanding why he drove mob away and being able to form an actual relationship without the power imbalance is so good to me...
