this one’s a keeper
I have queued this since June 19th
Me as a husband
It’s just like that one episode of Gumball in which they didn’t know what Nicole wanted them to celebrate
Seriously, the most useless people in every leftist activist group are the ones who refuse to see progress as, well, progress, and instead are obsessed with the idea of fomenting Revolution on a truly massive scale, because “that’s the only way things will ever truly change.” Not that they’re actually going out and trying to START that revolution ever, mind you. They’ll just keep telling you that that’s the only real solution, and until that happens, until they can get their absolutely perfect outcome, they’ll just sit on their asses and tell the rest of us that what we’re doing is useless. Which is bullshit, of course.
This is closely tied to the, “I won’t vote until the perfect unicorn candidate appears on the ballot, which means in practice that I just never vote” mindset, which is equally pointless and even more damaging.
me, watching the Parent Trap after i found Lindsey Lohan didn’t have a twin:
My 13 years old daughter has a great sense of humour, she drew this today!
This 13 year old is funnier than I will ever be
REPRESENTATION MATTERS.
Representation is SO important.

I would date an actor just so I can tell people that my boyfriend’s an actor and then they’d be like “oh? What’s he been in?” And I’d say “me” and raise my wine glass and laugh because in this scenario I’m at a fancy cocktail party.
I mean
adhd is stored in the ass
the a in adhd stands for ass
"you know what? Fuck this. Fuck you" but instead of being followed by a bad take, it just keeps going
You know what? Fuck this. Fuck you. I've fucking had it. I can't take this anymore. Fuck off. In all honesty, I've had enough. Fuck everyone. I'm at my goddamn limit here. I'm about to snap. Everyone shut up. Here's a hot take: fuck it. I'm done with everything.
I didn’t realize how often I smile to inform strangers I’m passing in a hall or on the street that I’m harmless and friendly until I started masking up. I’m used to “make eye contact, smile, look away” as my default mode of interaction, but now I just look like I’m fuckin’ shifty.
So I’ve taken to replacing the smile with a slight bow. A small incline of the head, a little tilt of the shoulders, like I’m a regency gentleman bidding you good day.
and here I’ve been giving people thumbs up like a maniac
oh my god i’ve been winking
I get that writing advice has its place but boy oh boy, is there way too much of it
let me elaborate
almost all writing advice is subjective, so you need to have a conversation with yourself anytime you read advice and ask yourself if it's relevant. some of this responsibility lies on the reader/receiver
but almost all writing advice is written as though it is *not* subjective, that it is the end all be all, that every writer wants to write the same, that they all are writing the same genre, and have the same end goal for their work
it's good, don't get me wrong, to have advice; as a kid, it was invaluable, because it's a big hobby/interest/job, and much of reaction stems on how well you can market and appeal to other people, but... it's all subjective. what you're writing can influence the how, when you're writing, why you're writing--
it's all subjective, and even well-meaning writing advice often doesn't take that into account
Thought it might be useful: a list of some novels with an average number of chapters & word count per chapter. source
I always think of Holes when I consider chapter thing. At least one if not more chapters were just one sentence, and at ten I thought that was the coolest thing.
Whenever I think about the Twilight movies my mind instantly goes to the scene where Bella first steps out of her father's car holding a tiny cactus. And then I remember the parody movie they made of Twlight where the main girl steps out the car with a gigantic cactus.
