It was finally time. After seven years of hard work, trial and error, and countless prototypes, Senku had finally perfected it: the spaceship that would help them uncover why all of humanity had been petrified.
7 years before
Everything was finally coming together. With Dr. Xeno on their side, there was no more war to worry about, especially with Stanley still petrified.
Back at home base, the Kingdom of Science had gathered everything and everyone they needed to begin preparations.
Nine knew Senku was going to be busy and harder to see than ever, and being herself, she wasn’t about to sit around waiting for the occasional glimpse of him.
So, she set out to find him.
She found Senku in his lab with Xeno, both of them completely absorbed in their blueprints and gadgets.
“Senku, we should talk. Xeno? Give us a minute, please.”
Xeno smirked as he left, closing the door behind him. Nine smiled, then let out a quiet sigh.
“Sorry to disturb your work, but it’s been a while since we’ve actually talked, don’t you think?”
The shift in Senku’s expression was immediate. Of course it was. He knew her too well.
“Yeah, it has. With all this planning to find Why-Man, we haven’t really gotten our one-on-one.”
She nodded, staring into his eyes like she was trying to uncover every secret hidden behind them.
“Sen…” She reached up and gently held his face in her hands, grounding herself before she spoke again.
She chuckled softly. “I doubt you want a sob story, but… I’ve been thinking maybe, while you’re working on your rocket, we should take a break.”
She raised a brow, waiting for his reaction.
“Like… a breakup?”
She hummed. “More like a hiatus. I know you’re going to be busy, and well… Maya and Leonard offered to train me in America before we leave. It’s been a while since I’ve trained with people who actually have military experience.”
She sighed, feeling the weight of the words finally fall from her chest.
“Maybe you’re right,” he said, casually picking at his ear.
“We’ll both be busy and barely see each other. It’s only logical.”
She smiled, bittersweet, with a small chuckle. “So logical. It’s only a break, by the way, so don’t go replacing me. Especially not with Miss Strong Capable Woman, Luna.”
That got a laugh out of both of them.
“Of course I won’t. Besides, I’ve still got a promise to keep,” he said with a smirk.
She leaned in and kissed him softly. “Damn right you do. I leave in a week.”
Then she hugged him, nearly crushing the life out of him.
“DAMN, WOMAN! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!”
She loosened her grip, but only a little, still holding him tightly. Knowing she needed this, Senku returned the hug.
It would be a while before they saw each other again.
⸻
Back to the present
Right before takeoff, the Kingdom of Science threw a festival in celebration of the momentous occasion.
With food, games, friends, and live music, Gen and the others had planned a special send-off for Senku.
As things began to wind down and the stage was finally set, Nine stepped out in heels and a white dress made by Yuzuriha, one that could have easily passed for a wedding dress.
She glowed beneath the spotlight, and her eyes found Senku within seconds.
Senku’s eyes widened for the briefest moment before settling back into normal, a smirk tugging at his lips.
Ah, now I get why Gen and the others were pushing so hard for more stage time.
“Hello again, darling. Did you miss me?”
She spoke to the crowd, and they cheered back, but everyone knew exactly who she was really talking to.
Then she began.
•Stranded here on Mars
What’s the odds you’d get stuck here too?•
Everyone was in awe of the militant girl, the daughter of one of Japan’s greatest generals, singing like an angel.
•It might be a lost cause
Who’d have thought there’d be so much left to lose?•
And while she sang, her eyes never once left his.
Of course, being away for seven years may have made her just a little greedy. :)
•Come hell or heaven, angels or devils
I won’t move
And I don’t care what happens after
I won’t quit on you
Lonely astronaut, it’s gonna cost
But you just can’t beat that view
Wasted like a god, power off
Wake up somewhere new
Now I’m an alien to you•
She swayed as she sang, and the crowd was mesmerised. How could someone so dangerous be so beautiful?
Heh. Of course Senku had figured out the answer to that question ages ago, being the smart man of science and all. ;)
•Chaos-ridden, inner space
Turns out home is not a place
When I think home, I see your face
Up there so long, everything changed
Chaos reaches outer space
Turns out nowhere is a place
Look down on a brilliant blaze
Phone, home, baby, everything changed•
When her song ended, Senku had already slipped backstage.
So Nine gracefully stepped off the stage and hurried out of sight, only to break into a run toward the person she had counted down the days for. Her high school sweetheart and now her husband.
Hehe. Well… fiancé. ;)
He was already there waiting for her, kneeling as he pulled out the ring he had spent whatever free time he had crafting.
“Well, it only took about 3,700 years, but I’m finally going to the moon. And you finally get your promise. Took a little longer than expected.”
He tried to mask his nerves, but she could see right through him. She could see it in his eyes too, the love there, and the truth of it. He really had meant to do this earlier.
“Oh, Senku… I would’ve waited another 3,700 years if it meant we could finally be like this, with the world restored.”
She kissed him passionately before pulling back just enough to smile.
“I do. But you should probably get going now. Time to go see the man on the moon.”
The takeoff, the mission, and the petrification plan all went off without a hitch.
Nine stood tall, newly freed from stone, taking in her surroundings: a throne room made entirely of rock.
“Welcome, Nine Takeuchi. I bet you have questions, so let me catch you up.”
Tsukasa’s voice echoed calmly, arms crossed.
“The world was petrified. 3700 years passed before we found a way to revive people from stone sleep—and you’re one of them.”
Nine nodded, absorbing the information. “What exactly do you want from me? You don’t strike me as the type to wake me up out of kindness.”
She scanned the room, noting the people he’d revived.
“From what I can tell, you’re only waking up the strong.”
Tsukasa chuckled. “Nothing gets past Japan’s most lethal high schooler.”
Nine’s face remained unreadable. “What do you want?”
“I want you to lead my army. Strength is good, but with your training, we won’t have to worry about winning this war.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Train your army for a war? I may be trained military, but I don’t like playing soldier unless I have a reason. Why are you even fighting?”
Tsukasa’s expression darkened. “The scientist who made the revival fluid wants to save everyone—even the greedy adults who ruined the world. I only want to save the young and innocent.”
Nine looked unimpressed. “Sounds illogical. Those adults were once kids, too. If someone greedy rises up, your plan falls apart.”
Tsukasa hummed. “You remind me of him. Will you fight with us?”
Nine sighed. “Fine. One condition.”
“What’s that?” Tsukasa asked.
“I want full control of your army. I will be addressed as General Nine, and my methods won’t be questioned.”
Tsukasa considered her request. “Two of those will be granted. Full control will need further explanation.”
She folded her arms. “We’ll be equals, not me working for you. If I’m equal, I need full control over training and operations. You won’t be kept out of the loop, and your opinion will be considered. I swear.”
Tsukasa finally nodded. “I look forward to working with you, General Nine.”
“Have your troops ready by dawn. I’m getting used to my surroundings until then.”
Outside, she stepped into a world reclaimed by green. People whispered and kept their distance until—
“NINE!!” Taiju’s voice boomed, followed by a softer, “Nine!” before he crushed her in a bear hug. She didn’t mind.
“What are you guys doing here?” Nine asked, smiling slightly, eyes searching the clearing, hoping to see him.
They looked down, shaking their heads. Her brows furrowed, heart quickening.
Yuzuriha gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “Come with us.”
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
They stopped at a dirt clearing, a cross standing solemnly.
No. She held her breath.
Taiju dug out a metal box with Senku scrawled on it.
Relief replaced her fear. Ha, I knew it, she thought.
“Hello? Senku?” Yuzuriha spoke into the phone.
Silence, then:
“Yeah, what’s up?” Senku’s voice came through casually.
“Are you alone? We have news only you should hear.”
Seconds ticked by before, “So what is it?”
“Senku… she’s awake.” Yuzuriha handed the phone to Nine.
Nine’s hands trembled as she lifted it. “Senku? Ha… it’s kinda fucked up I’m talking to you from the grave.”
It was deeper than she let on, but she kept her voice casual.
“Please say something,” she whispered, pressing the phone to her ear like it was her lifeline.
“…Stay there, Nine. Don’t let them know anything’s wrong.”
His voice was steady, crossing the years easily.
“I know you’re already planning fifty ways to break out, but don’t. You staying there, looking like you’re on their side, will save more people than you think.”
A breath, static.
“It’s hell to say this, but you’re the best shot we have. Let them believe you’re theirs.”
She could almost hear his smirk, though something softer hid beneath it.
“I’ll come get you. So hang on.”
Nine let out a quiet laugh, mostly from relief. “My hero.”
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
And she did, training Tsukasa’s army, playing her role perfectly. When Senku wins, this will be his anyway, she thought.
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
6 Months Later: War of Science
“Hey Tsukasa, this isn’t strength vs. science,” Senku called out, “because science is strength.”
Paper planes flew overhead, crashing into a tree with an explosive boom.
“Thanks to the battle team, we pulled this off,” Senku said, holding more dynamite planes with Chrome and Gen.
Nine giggled from her spot, eyes on him.
“They’ll never hit us with airplanes,” some rockhead from Tsukasa’s army muttered.
You guys fell so fast. Waste of my effort, Nine pouted internally.
“How about dynamite arrows?” Ukyo nocked an arrow, making Tsukasa’s men drop their weapons.
“HAHA, THE WAR IS OVER!” Taiju shouted.
But Tsukasa stepped forward, unshaken. “It’s time you meet my last weapon. General.”
Gasps rose as Nine approached, each step measured, eyes locked on Senku.
Gen’s voice trembled. “Senku… that’s Nine Takeuchi. If she’s here, we’re screwed.”
Gen hissed, “She’s Japan’s deadliest high schooler—”
Tsukasa cut in, voice firm. “Kill them.”
A heavy silence.
Nine raised her spear, eyes on Senku. The battle team braced.
She moved, taking down Kinro, Ginro, Magma, and even matching Kohaku strike for strike. The battlefield was chaos, but Nine was a storm they could not stop.
Senku watched, heart pounding. She’s unstoppable. For a flicker, fear slid down his spine.
Kohaku planted herself in front of Senku, panting. “You’ll have to go through me again!”
Nine tilted her head, smirking. “Protecting your scientist, huh?”
Senku’s voice was calm but sharp. “Kohaku, stand down.”
“What?!”
Nine smirked. “You like experimenting with your life, huh, Senku?”
He shot back a grin. “Experimenting’s how you get results. Besides, you’re not actually gonna kill me, right?”
She lunged.
The dust cleared, revealing Nine hugging Senku tightly. He chuckled, resting a hand on her back.
“Looks like I stole your last weapon, Tsukasa.”
“WAHHH!??” Gen screamed. “HOW?!”
“She’s my girlfriend,” Senku said flatly.
Gen’s jaw dropped. “You had her on your side this whole time?!”
Senku put a pinky in his ear. “Now’s not the time, Gen.”
Nine stepped beside him, eyes sharp as they turned to Tsukasa.
“This is all part of your plan, isn’t it?” Tsukasa rasped.
Senku’s grin widened. “Negotiation time.”
He continued calmly, “This fight isn’t about killing everyone, Tsukasa. You’re trying to protect what you love. Your sister. Let’s save her, together.”
After a moment, Tsukasa’s fists unclenched. “If you’re lying, I’ll kill you.”
Senku chuckled softly. “Fair enough.”
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
They worked for hours, digging and reviving Mirai, letting the siblings reunite. Nine watched, hugging Senku from behind.
“It’s good to finally see you after months of radio silence,” she said, teasing lightly, hiding how deeply she’d missed him.
Senku smiled, covering her hand with his, leaning back into her warmth.
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Just as peace settled, an explosion rocked the cave.
Senku’s eyes widened. “The miracle cave—!”
They sprinted, finding Hyoga standing near Mirai.
Hyoga struck.
Tsukasa took the hit.
Senku caught Tsukasa, but Hyoga shoved them both off the waterfall.
“SENKU!” Nine screamed.
Kohaku grabbed her, but Nine shoved her off, diving in after Senku.
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Nine exploded from the water, spear ready, landing in front of Hyoga.
“So, the infamous Nine,” Hyoga sneered.
Nine’s eyes narrowed. “And you’re the traitor.”
They clashed, spear vs. blade, lightning-fast strikes echoing against rock. Nine’s strength was terrifying, her speed blinding.
Senku, soaked and bruised, crawled up to watch. For the first time, fear crept into his chest.
If she ever turned on us…
Nine’s strikes broke Hyoga’s blade, forcing him back. She raised her spear, ready to end it.
“Enough, Nine,” Senku’s voice cut through, shaky but steady.
He shocked Hyoga with a homemade taser. Hyoga collapsed, alive but defeated.
“No! Senku—! You can’t be dead for real, wake up. Please, wake up…” she whispered, choking on her breath. But she couldn’t stop herself. The sobs came rushing out. She clutched him tighter, holding his body like it would disappear if she let go.
She cried openly—ugly, raw—and didn’t care that Tsukasa was right there, watching.
Even though she’d been trained not to.
“Weakness gives your opponent an opening,” her father’s voice echoed in her head from a long-ago training session.
But she didn’t care. Not right now.
Tsukasa stepped forward, expression unreadable.
“Nine… I should kill you too, considering who you are. Considering what you’re capable of,” he said coldly.
She didn’t flinch. She didn’t move. Just held Senku’s body like her life depended on it.
“But… I won’t. At least, not today.”
He turned his back. Nine barely registered the words.
Her hands moved to Senku’s face—his cheek, his hair, gently, lovingly. Her fingers slid down to his neck… and froze.
Her eyes widened.
Stone.
A small piece, right at the base of his neck.
Senku… had planned this.
He’d let Tsukasa strike him down.
Nine’s heart pounded as she struggled to keep her reaction buried. Luckily, her back was still turned to Tsukasa. She buried her face against Senku’s shoulder and kept the sobs going. Keeping the act up wasn’t hard—not when her heart had still believed he was gone.
Tsukasa’s voice cut through again. “I trust, as his friends, you’ll give him a proper burial.”
Taiju’s rage boiled over. Without a word, he lifted a massive boulder, hurling it high overhead. Tsukasa snapped into a fighting stance.
But it was a bluff.
While Tsukasa’s eyes were on the rock, Yuzuriha hurled the pot of black powder.
Tsukasa kicked the pot, sending the powder scattering—
But the boulder came crashing down, triggering a massive explosion.
The three ran, smoke and fire at their backs. Nine clutched Senku tightly in her arms, her face blank, tears still trailing down her cheeks. She didn’t stop until they reached a clearing.
She gently laid him down, kneeling beside him.
Her fingers trembled.
She clenched her fists.
“You idiot… How could you pull this without telling me?” she thought bitterly.
Taiju dropped beside her and began pressing on Senku’s chest.
“I don’t know if I’m doing this right… but I can’t just sit here doing nothing,” he said.
Nine whispered, “He sacrificed himself…”
Taiju and Yuzuriha exchanged a glance. They both noticed the change in Nine’s voice.
This hurt her more than any battle ever had.
⸻
✦ ✦ ✦ FLASHBACK ✦ ✦ ✦
“Check this out,” said one of their classmates, holding up a quiz. “There’s been a tragic accident—between your friend, your lover, or yourself. Who would you save?”
“Uhh…” Yuzuriha blinked. “I’d probably get stuck picking between my friend and my lover.”
“Most people panic and pick themselves in the moment,” Student A replied.
“WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT?!” Taiju yelled. “That quiz is messed up!”
Senku spun a test tube in his hands, not looking up. “I’d save all of them.”
Everyone blinked in surprise—except Nine, who just smiled.
“I’d find a fundamental rule that let me save all of us,” Senku added calmly.
“That’s such a science club president answer,” Yuzuriha grinned.
“I like that one better,” Taiju agreed. “I’ll pick that too.”
“Kind of reveals what’s most important to you,” Student A mused.
“Yeah,” Senku said, dry as ever. “Ten billion percent obvious. That quiz belongs in the trash.”
Nine chuckled softly. “Aww, Senku does care.”
He rolled his eyes. “Shut up.”
⸻
✦ ✦ ✦ BACK TO THE PRESENT ✦ ✦ ✦
“Senku wouldn’t go out like that,” Taiju said. “He wouldn’t take the suicide route. He’d stake the whole game on a chance to save us.”
Nine wiped her face and spoke, voice still thick with pain. “Taiju… get the miracle fluid.”
He blinked. “Huh? Oh—right!” He handed her the bottle.
She turned Senku gently and poured the fluid onto the petrified piece at the back of his neck.
They waited.
Crack.
The stone broke.
“WAKE UP, SENKU!! I KNEW YOU’D LIVE!!” Taiju shouted.
The storm began to clear. The wind shifted. Sunlight broke through the clouds.
Senku’s eyes opened.
He sat up slowly, stretching his neck.
“That thunderstorm gave us good cover, so keep your voices down. If Tsukasa hears us now, it’s game over.”
Yuzuriha and Taiju were still too stunned to speak.
Senku looked at Nine. “Good job noticing the stone on my neck. I barely gave any hints… I’m guessing it was you who figured it out.”
He gave her a small smile.
She didn’t return it.
Instead, her eyes filled with anger.
“…How could you do that?” she whispered. “You bastard! How could you pull something like that and not tell me?!”
Her voice cracked. Taiju and Yuzuriha gave them space.
Senku sighed. “I had to keep things airtight. If you’d known, Tsukasa would’ve noticed your reaction wasn’t real.”
She didn’t argue. She knew he was right.
But that didn’t make it hurt any less.
“So it was logical to have me hold your dead body?” she said. “To make me think I’d lost you? Senku—this world is dangerous enough. If you die by accident, fine. But don’t you ever gamble your life like that again!”
Senku sat up fully, quiet for a long time.
“…Damn it, Nine,” he said softly.
He raked a hand through his hair.
“You think I wanted to do it without telling you?”
“You think I wasn’t thinking about you the whole time?”
He finally looked at her.
“You weren’t some variable I forgot. You were the one thing I couldn’t plan for.”
“If I told you… you would’ve blown the plan. You would’ve risked everything to stop me. And if that got you killed—”
He shook his head.
“I didn’t tell you because it was easy. I didn’t tell you… because I couldn’t risk losing you.”
Nine stared at him, then lunged forward, hugging him tightly.
“Don’t ever do it again,” she said fiercely. “Or I’ll kill you myself.”
Senku let out a dry laugh. “Heh. I don’t doubt it.”
He glanced over his shoulder. “You guys can come back now,” he called, knowing full well they’d heard everything.
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Yuzuriha knelt down with a piece of cloth, carefully painting a rocket and stars onto it.
“What do you think? Does that look like a rocket ship to you?” she asked brightly, holding it up.
Nine leaned over and smiled. “Wow, Yuzuriha, that’s so cool. Nice job.”
“Thanks, Nine!”
Senku squinted. “Yeah, no. I’m not seeing it.”
Nine rolled her eyes. “What, did breaking your neck mess up your vision?”
“It’s a science flag,” Yuzuriha said proudly. “And I think it’s perfect for you, Senku.”
Taiju beamed. “Haha! First we thought turning to stone ruined everything, but I guess it saved your life this time, huh? It’s like what you said when we made soap! De-petrification is a life-saver in a world without doctors! It’s… Dr. Stone!”
Everyone paused at the name.
Senku blinked. “…Huh. Come to think of it, when the petrification’s undone, it rejuvenates the affected area. It’s an extremely beneficial scientific phenomenon.”
His expression turned serious.
“I’ve been wondering this whole time… Who petrified humanity? What force caused that flash? And… was it even an attack at all?”
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Later, Senku carefully buried any evidence they’d been there. Meanwhile, Yuzuriha picked up one of the broken stone fragments, staring at it curiously.
“Hey… maybe if we put these back together and pour the fluid on them, they’ll come back?” she asked hopefully.
“I tried that early on,” Senku said quietly. “It just brought back dismembered corpses. There has to be some rule behind it…”
Nine’s voice was firm. “I hope you buried them afterward.”
Senku didn’t answer, just sighed and turned to Yuzuriha. “Yuzuriha, you’re our craft club queen. This next mission’s going to be brutal. Think you can handle it?”
He leaned in, explaining quietly—but Nine already knew the plan.
Yuzuriha froze, her face going pale.
“That… really sounds like an extremely grueling mission. But I’ll do it!”
Senku smirked. “Well, that was an easy sell.”
“Wait—are you guys telling secrets?! No fair!” Taiju chimed in, pouting.
“Uh… I was just saying maybe you and I should go meet up with Tsukasa…” Yuzuriha said nervously.
“WHAT?! Are you crazy?!” Taiju shouted. “You mean the homicidal maniac who killed Senku?! He probably still thinks he did!”
Nine and Senku both chuckled.
“Ding, ding, ding,” Nine said. “That’s exactly the advantage we gained.”
Senku nodded. “Tsukasa thinks I’m rotting in the ground. But we know where he is. If you two can infiltrate his empire, act as spies… we’ll gain a serious edge.”
He turned to Taiju. “Your main job is to protect Yuzuriha. And with a blockhead like you, the less you know, the better.”
Taiju stood tall. “Got it. Loud and clear.”
Nine added, “Tsukasa’s going to use the miracle fluid to build a young, strong army—he’ll make a brutal world with him on top.”
Senku stepped forward. “So we’ll build our own army. A science army.”
Yuzuriha looked worried. “But how? We don’t have miracle fluid or gunpowder. You can’t wake up more allies.”
“Hehe,” Nine said with a smirk. “Simple. We’ll find the people who sent those smoke signals—and recruit them.”
Senku nodded. “Let’s just hope they didn’t run into Tsukasa first.”
Nine crossed her arms. “We’ll assume the best until proven otherwise.”
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Later, the team stood at a crossroads in the forest—two paths leading in opposite directions.
“So… going forward, the two of us will be spies,” Taiju said. “And you two’ll start the Kingdom of Science.”
“Yeah,” Senku replied. “Parting is such sweet sorrow. Better get going before we get all emotional.”
They exchanged one last look.
Senku and Nine turned to the forest, walking side by side.
“Hmm… so you’re logical even with goodbyes?” Nine asked quietly.
“No time to waste,” Senku said with a shrug.
Nine smiled softly. “I suppose not.”
Behind them, Taiju cupped his hands around his mouth—then stopped himself.
Instead, he raised his fist high into the air, standing tall.
Senku glanced back, smirking.
“Just hang in there until our paths cross again, ya big oaf,” he said. “We already waited 3,700 years. A few months—or a year—is no big deal. Time is relative, you know.”
Nine stood beside him, holding up the scarf-flag Yuzuriha had made.
“No matter how long it takes… we’ll build our Kingdom of Science.”

synopsis: there is always someone next to senku, all the time.
masterlist ; loyalty built from love (part 1)
a/n: jokes on you guys, i was already writing a part two even before i got many requests for it. also, i wrote part 1 like months ago and it took months to write as well, so when i re-read it for part 2, part 1 was so ambiguously written good that even i have no idea what the hell i was going for.
also, don't be shy to give any comments, because i am reading those and i love them all <3
anyone could tell that senku misses you
like a lot...
to the point that he mentions you
a lot...
it was rather endearing to the people around him
it's cute that senku still remains the habit of talking about you whenever you're not physically with him
yuzuriha always liked that habit of his
she will never not be bothered by it, she's used to it after all
he would always at least mention you once a day
he just loves talking about you
it's really endearing and an adorable side to the usually unaffectionate friend of hers
"the first balloon that humanity took flight in was made of hemp cloth," shared senku as gen let out an awed noise. "the one massive ordeal to overcome is..."
"right..." yuzuriha raised her hand. "you need a crap ton of cloth, don't you?" she asked with a slightly painful look on her face, already knowing the work she's going to put into.
"oh, look!" senku pointed at yuzuriha with a devilish expression. "i totally didn't realize! we've got the crafts club here!" yuzuriha jabbed a fist at his chest.
senku and kaseki then got onto the floor and bowed, performing a dogeza. "the science team will commit itself to designing the passenger basket," senku explained in a robot manner.
"we'll make any tools you need," kaseki tells her, raising his head.
"can i leave the cloth making to you? to the yuzuriha crafts team?" senku confidently asked, raising his head.
yuzuriha nods as senku stood up and the two shared a high-five. "of course you can!" she exclaimed with a peace sign.
"i could've had y/n help you with this. well actually, i think she would've helped immediately without me saying anything, but..." senku trailed off, but yuzuriha understood what he's trying to say.
she placed a hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner. "i know, senku. it's fine! i've got it handled."
later on yuzuriha asked senku and kaseki to make a loom to get things going a bit faster and easier. as she waited, senku called, "hey, it's done." she turned around expecting a simpler loom, but it was not. she let out a surprised noise, falling onto the ground. a pleasant surprise, she was given.
"was this not what you were expecting, yuzuriha-chan?" kaseki asks, a bit worried.
"we didn't have much time," says senku, looking a bit worried too. "did you want an electric one? maybe i should've. y/n would have my head seeing i didn't immediately make an electric one for you."
yuzuriha hurriedly dismissed their worry. "no! no! i appreciate it a lot!"
"they're the senku department store's first high-end products. it might be a while before they start selling," says gen, looking at the racks that held an assortment of clothes and the people that looked around the new place.
"y/n would've love this," senku absentmindedly mentions. "she would've easily volunteered for that fashion show too."
gen turned to senku as if he grew a head.
"oh, also, hand them out to anyone who works," senku then tells gen. "we have a living manifestation of greed who'll buy just about anything."
that was first time gen heard senku talk about you as if he's some clingy boyfriend that misses his girlfriend, he thought he was finally going insane in the stone world
he genuinely would have never thought that senku's the type to be like that when it comes to relationships
which was already shocking in of itself
he truly never expected to have "senku" and "relationship/boyfriend/girlfriend" in the same sentence
are you two really just boyfriend and girlfriend though?
it doesn't seem right to call you and senku, girlfriend and boyfriend
it feels like the two of you have something more
ryusui never met you
of course because when the fuck would he ever
but he has been in the same room as you a few times
people from the "rich, noble, important" families would hold these galas for the "high-class", and you attended some of them for connecting purposes
he, on the other hand, attended most of these which made it possible for him to have seen you in person a few time
though, he never dared interact with you
he only stared at you from afar in awe
it was also an added bonus that because of one of these galas, your family ended up connecting with his family through buying yachts
though, other than that, the nanami conglomerate and the l/n family has no other connection than a business one
and so when senku mentioned your name...
he didn't know what to think when senku mentioned you as if you were an old friend
and judging by chrome's reaction, it seems that the scientist has mentioned you a few times already
"we're in the sky, protected by nothing but our own skin and flesh. you don't get this kind of extravagance anywhere else," he says, looking on the horizon they are given from the air balloon. "not this unique sensation."
"yeah," senku agreed. "y/n would love to be here right now, but sucks to be her for not being here." he cackled out a laughter as chrome turned to him and gave him a light jab.
"seriously?" he deadpanned, but then got distracted by a flock of bird, flying pass the balloon. "we're with the birds!" he exclaimed.
actually, did he even refer to you as if you were an old friend?
it almost felt like he referred to you as if you were dead...
and in a manner that only a really close friend has the rights to do
ryusui didn't believe that though
i mean, how could he?
you dead?
it's ridiculous (utterly ridiculous)
he can see the reasons on why senku has survived and thrived
he also knows the reasons on why you, too, are just as capable of surviving and thriving
so where are you really?
"it's as good as bread from a popular modern shop," senku says after taking a bite out of the stollen that francois just baked. "it'll last to the other side of the planet, and it's good as hell. a perfect food that i've been dying to have and we've got it now!"
"greed equals justice," is all what francois says.
"y/n's really missing out," senku absentmindedly called out. "she would've devoured these so fast, well, as much as her stomach can handle." he smiled fondly at the thought
gen turned to him and asked, "does she like bread that much?"
"loves them even more so than the average person," senku says with a tired expression from just thinking about it. "that girl dragged me around the globe just to have a damn bread tour."
francois wasn't sure if they had heard the scientist correctly
did senku just refer to you like you two are old friends?
you?
a member of the most powerful family in the entirety of japan?
the eldest of the said family?
the next in line?
the hidden treasure of japan?
it was strange
they were confused on why senku would have connections to you
and judging from gen's casual follow-up question, your name has been brought up more than once by senku
but it wasn't their job to be curious and to question the lives of others
their job was to serve ryusui-sama
and for the sake of the nanami conglomerate, ishigami senku is an absolute want
minami, being the journalist she is, are one of the only few people that knows you a bit better than most
after all, she was handpicked by the l/n family to be one of the few media representation for your first ever media debut
it was groundbreaking for her career
and it also broke the entirety of japan
you had revealed then that you will not be accepting any courting, and offers of marriage because you had already found the person you'd spend your life with
no one knew who you were talking about
she remembered the massive wave of investigation happening shortly after the publication of that interview done by... everyone, really
no one ever figured it out who this person was
...or is
maybe she's the first amongst reporters to finally figure it out
"at least let me take the first picture for memory's sake!" exclaimed minami with an embarrassed expression.
"perfectly fair," voiced ukyo and gen.
ryusui laughed, raising his hand in the air. "i'm buying the photo, model rights, and all!" he declared.
minami turned to him, angry, baring teeth. "why should the first photo be yours?!"
"what are you talking about?" he asked. "it's a record of the beginning of technological civilization. it should be senku, obviously. am i right?"
senku owlishly stared at ryusui and minami.
"an exhibit at the nanami museum, representing the history of the new world." ryusui walked over to where senku stood with all the other cameras.
senku stuck a pinky into his ear. "what are you talking about?" he asked. "if anything, the first picture should be y/n." a wave of silence rose amongst the revived people. they know fully well that what senku had said was absolutely correct.
but they also know that it won't be possible right now.
the scientist sighs, breaking the silence. "it's too bad she's frozen shut right now," he mocked casually with a teasing grin.
"i think you're the only one who can joke about her like that," gen commented with a slightly awkward chuckle.
in the end, senku had the honors of being the first person photographed in the stone age, posing the famous einstein pose and minami had the honors of photographing the first picture in the stone age
but that wasn't the only thing that she got from this
she's always listening, you know? and there was one thing that stood out from the banter around her
no one in japan would have the courage, the boldness to joke around your name like senku had just did
not to your face nor behind your back
and yet senku, being the man of knowledge he is, is bold enough to do so
why is that?
was gen right?
that senku really is the only person who can joke about you like that?
since the surrender of tsukasa, there were many rumors she had heard about the two of you and it was all the same thing
that you and senku have something going on
she refuses to believe those rumors
she's a journalist—she shouldn't be believing in those rumors!
her motto is to find the truth
and the truth she will find sooner or later (when she gets the guts to ask you)
when they found the oil, obviously they had to test it out
gen was the one conducting the test drive (because he's the only one with drivers license)
then taiju dropped by, getting a whiff of that oily smell
"hey! it's the love potion," commented taiju. "are you going to give it to someone, senku?"
the people there were confused on what taiju had meant. "what are you talking about, taiju-chan?" asked gen.
"you made some for me that day, remember?" taiju says as his mind took him back to the day it all started. "so that i would have the confidence to confess to yuzuriha. you also said it worked out for you and y/n because of it. it was the last moment we had before we all got petrified."
senku ended up cackling afterwards. "i did! i said that! i told you it was a love potion! you still believe that, you meathead?! that was gasoline!"
"what?! it was?!"
"also, no way in hell would i ever use something on y/n unless she forces me in another of her batshit insane experiments," senku deadpanned. "but if you think it smells the same with no prior knowledge—"
now, gen is totally one to assume
and what senku said kind of sounded like an implication...
in both that way and a completely different way
although, if it was that way then, knowing senku, he would have never mentioned it
so it was probably an actual batshit insane thing
why does gen feel like his image of you will be changed while they're here
a small moment of reference when yo was whispering some shit to gen, pinning senku as some sort of mad lad
well, he kind of is but...
"i'm pretty sure he's wack," whispered yo to gen. both sweating.
"nah, y/n's the one who's wack between she and i. i've still got my mind intact, just barely," senku retorted, looking back at the two.
when valentines came, gen had an interesting answer to his question
"ah, valentine's day," mused gen as kohaku repeated it, confused. "yeah, events are important. for the drago—i mean, for the morale."
senku and yuzuriha went out of the laboratory, handing out the chocolates. gen turned to senku with a question in mind. "do you give chocolates to y/n-chan, senku-chan?"
senku shook his head. "nah, y/n doesn't really like them," he answered which shocked gen. "she'd rather have things that she could wear or practical gifts."
see
look at that
that gave a lot to gen
senku practically confirmed that he gives gifts to you!
and also does so on VALENTINES
if that's not confirmation of being a couple, he doesn't know what is
but then again...
like he had thought before, it doesn't feel like the two you are just boyfriend and girlfriends
but what other kind of relationship would still condone in the valentines romance gift giving?
shouldn't there be some kind of answers by now?
then after they took the group photo with the finished ship
senku looked a bit... down? contemplated?
it was strange to see
why would he be feeling down?
it was quite obvious as well
"are you unsatisfied about the pictures, senku?" asked minami, holding her camera.
"nah, i don't care about that," answered senku.
"then what's got you so down, senku-chan?" asked gen.
senku stared off in the direction of where the tsukasa empire was with a somber look. gen immediately understood from that alone. "take lots of pictures when y/n comes back, journalass," senku told her as he walked off towards the ship.
everyone knew that you barely had any pictures
after all, you were called the hidden treasure of japan
you probably told senku how you felt about it, and he remembers
gen thought it was sweet
minami felt herself gushing about it
when ryusui called upon the people who were needed on the expedition, it was gen's turn to come aboard.
and, to be perfectly clear, tsukasa was left behind by choice because he felt obliged to protect the kingdom of science since most of the battle team were coming along to the perseus
"uh, you don't need me, do you?" asked gen, frantically. "i've got the strength of a bean sprout."
"we don't know what kinds of enemies we're going to meet. what good is a mentalist if they aren't there when that happens, dumbass?" explained senku. "i'd have y/n instead of you if she wasn't being frozen away like a piece of salami."
the modern people felt cultural shock at the casual way of senku playing around your name, but at the same time they feel that they should get used to it.
"ah so i'm just a second choice, huh?" mused gen as he trekked up towards the ship.
"of course you are," senku answered without thinking. "it's always y/n first to me."
the crowd who watched the take off of the ship awed at the display of loyalty senku accidentally announced. gen started grinning, knowing full well that he caused senku to slip like that. senku then grimaced at what he said even thought it's true.
maybe senku should dial back a bit...
ryusui also knows now that you're very much alive somewhere in the kingdom of science
he just doesn't know why you're not physically present
also, did his ears deceive him or did senku just practically confess his feelings for you?
but it wasn't that...
judging from the way the people present cooed at his confession and how gen was smirking like he set it up on purpose
was there something else between the two of you?
this time, it was yuzuriha who shared something about you
"these kinds of people are always dying to show you the machines they tuned the hell out of," says nikki, looking sympathetic.
"they won't let you go until their done," kohaku added.
"i'll be alright!" yuzuriha clarified, making kohaku and nikki shocked. "i always sat through senku-kun's five hour rocket lectures and stuff."
"we have a veteran here!" exclaimed nikki, still looking shock with kohaku.
yuzuriha laughs at that. "if you think i'm a veteran, then y/n must be something else! she always did listen to him..." she mused with a fond smile.
senku smiled as well from that comment.
yuzuriha may not be as close to you as she is to senku, but she completely adores you!
...after getting over the fact that you're the y/n l/n
you were like... any other person, just a bit clueless in other areas
actually, you were a lot like senku in a lot of ways
it's a good portion of the reason why the two of you have the relationship that you two have grown to have
this time, gen was the one to first mention you to amaryllis
albeit in a more... implied upbringing
despite not actually knowing if you two are intertwined or not
but he's very confident that you two are
"that kind of attack isn't going to work on senku-chan," he says. "he's already married, you know?"
and then he went scummy
to which kohaku shouted and hit at him for
and then she later scolded herself after forcing a kiss on senku to save her own ass
she kneeled on the ground and slammed her head on the floor in a dogeza position, facing the direction of ishigami village. "i am sorry, y/n. i will be held responsible for this action, and i will allow you to give me whatever punishment is deemed necessary."
senku sighed, sticking a finger in his pinky, looking exasperated. "y/n's reasonable, calm down, she won't be that mad." his eyes looking far away in the same direction as if thinking of something himself for you.
while senku was making conditioner for kohaku, he mentions you
"y/n's actually been nagging me about making hair stuff for a while now," senku commented while making the hair products. "she always had this specific routine for her hair."
amaryllis didn't know who you are. "is she the one who's married to him?" she asked gen.
"yes," he answered. "y/n-chan is a very powerful person. she's probably even stronger than the strongest soldiers here on the island."
"really?!"
senku glanced at the implied threat gen displayed with an unamused look, but let him does so anyways. it's true, after all.
when amaryllis tried to girlie-fy the boys,
"you know, y/n would actually be impressed that you could fake being a girl like that," senku mentions, crossing his arms on his chest after washing off the makeup on his face.
"really?"
"she'd probably even call you—in her words—a tall baddie." senku made a grimace as he said that.
then when the two girls and one boy dressed like a girl left, gen mentioned your name to start a conversation
"if only we have y/n-chan, huh?" gen comments.
senku shook his head. "nah, she wouldn't do that," he says. "although if she was here, she'd probably go all stealth instead."
"are they really..."
"i'm not answering any questions you have about them."
"so you do know!"
gen was inspecting the earpiece, amazed and shocked by how simple it can be done
and then, of course, senku mentions you
"it was y/n who actually taught me how to make that," senku commented. "i don't know why she bothered learning to make one when she could literally buy the best one, but she said she liked how simple and cosmetic it can be if made like this. though, i'm glad she taught it to me now because it certainly useful for this."
"of course this is y/n-chan's design, not yours," says gen, holding it up in front of him.
as senku looked through the pile of gold dust
as the pile of platinum grew
it was the first time he felt vulnerable since you had been frozen shut
he isn't one to be all emotional, but at moments like these... it really showed just how much care byakuya had for him
senku scoffs. "if y/n was here, she'd be bawling her eyes out," he says, his eyes a bit glassy himself.
"you counting seconds all that time, and your papa collecting sand for decades..." gen looked wistful. "you two are alike."
once the team were able to make the revival fluid, the thought of reviving their stoned comrades were first in the list
senku ordered kohaku to cleanly cut the greedy captain when given the chance
afterwards, ryusui's stone parts were delivered to them
"i've always known you're ridiculously rational, but... but still you're practically psycho at this point!" screamed gen after figuring out what's happening.
senku shook his head with a smirk. "nah, y/n's the psycho one between us," he corrected. "if she was given parts like these, she'd be experimenting, mix-and-matching them. i'd be the only one to get her to stop."
"every time you say things about y/n-chan that she's a psycho and all, it ruins the image i have of her and i can't help but not believe you," gen bluntly replied. "except you're the only one that knows who she really is, so i have to believe you."
senku cackled.
when kohaku was fighting against moz, all she could think about was how he's nothing compared to you
"i like strong girls, too, as long as they have a pretty face," he says as he took out the machete out of his weapon. "what kind of men do you like, kohaku-chan? how about me? i'm strong as hell."
the girl let out a sigh, then tied her hair up to her usual ponytail while crouching down. "strength is strength of mind," she states, making him slightly confused. "to be able to continue hammering a wedge for as long as it takes to carry out one's will. that's the kind of person i'm drawn to."
her pose changed to a battle stance. "well~ this is a problem, moz. you seem to be the exact opposite," she tells him. "and compared to him?" she scoffs. "actually, compared to her? you're nothing. literally. she's stronger than both of us combined, actually, stronger than anyone else on this island."
"i don't know who you're referring to, but you're cute, kohaku-chan. just not cute enough though."
did kohaku just imply something
AND
maybe come out of the closet?
maybe
maybe not
who knows
but she really wasn't lying
moz really is nothing compared to the people she admires and respects the most
as the parts of the gun was laid out on the table, the people from the 21st century had recognized it
of course they did, after all,
"this is what made men and women, young and old, all of humanity, all of homo sapiens, the apex predators. it's the invention of the gods and demons, and even then, humans who owns these rank higher than what we can see on the pyramid," senku states as kaseki finished the building of the gun.
"we, humans, may be on top of the food chain, but once given some source of power? we become our own enemies. and we all know who's at the top here in japan." he lets out a teasing smirk as some let out a sigh, knowing who he's talking about.
"tools are neither gods nor demons," ukyo says. "it's up to the person to determine how it's used."
"then let's be damn glad that our rulers didn't use these to become demons," cackled senku as he just had to make a joke.
both gen and yuzuriha let out a loud sigh.
ukyo decided to ignore the misplaced joke, and continue with what he was going to say anyways.
then later on when ryusui asked who would wield the gun...
senku turned his head towards the stoned yu. "if i had continued my gun lessons with y/n, maybe i can, but compared to the only police officer? yeah, he's better off with it." then he hummed, turning to his two childhood friends. "how about you two? any of you comfortable wielding a gun? i know you both got lessons from y/n also."
yuzuriha shook her head. "well, it's best to just leave it with yu... my lessons with y/n were more of for self-defense," she says.
"i also think it's better for yu to handle it. he's the professional," taiju says. "y/n tried to teach me, but i just always end up using my hands during the mock fights."
gen, ukyo, and ryusui turned to the trio in different waves of shock.
"i wonder how those lessons went knowing your non-existent strength, senku-chan," gen mused.
the scientist rolled his eyes.
it was actually pretty shocking to hear that the trio had gun lessons with YOU
like what an honor??
but it also makes sense for none of the trio to pick up on it since they've already had pretty different skill sets; a gun just didn't fit within it
it was also kind of scary to think about it
everyone knows that the l/n family are all skilled and powerful people
each person had a different skill set honed and trained to the absolute perfection, and that the regime it took to get there was of on a entirely different level
to hear that you had taught those three a small part of your regime,
just how hard was it?
it was an honor, but at the same time, no normal person can probably handle the regime of a l/n
when the team saw that the islanders were getting evacuated
it was a sign that ibara planned to petrify the entire island
"w-we're in huge trouble!" exclaimed suika in a panic.
"nah, just the opposite," senku says with a confident smirk. "when the going gets tough, the tough get going. we might be able to take all of it. the enemy, the kingdom, and the medusa!"
he starts cackling. "oh, y/n, you could've been so damn useful here, why'd you just have to go and get punctured," he sighs with a shake of his head.
ukyo looked at senku in nervousness. "why does it seem like you always have to insult her situation?" he rhetorically asks.
yuzuriha chuckles. "you'll get used to it," she says with a sympathetic smile. "it's his way of showing his love to her."
ukyo thinks that he'll never get used to it
he was one of the people that didn't know the dynamic between you and senku since your accident had happened right when the stone war ended
it's not like he doesn't believe that you two are together, it's just that he's the type to have to hear/see it to believe it
he still have that image of you in his head
that you're someone like tsukasa, except way dangerous and way scarier
it also doesn't help that you and your family are probably the only people that can get past his enhanced hearing
it's easy to say that he's afraid of you
which is why every time senku goes and makes fun of your accident, it gives him whiplash
this time yuzuriha was the one to think of you as she stared at the broken stone fragments of the master of the island
"it isn't over yet," she says. "we have to keep thinking, and keep going; that's what i learned from him... her... from them! we still have some adhesive senku-kun made for us in the kingdom of science." her eyes glistening as she darted from piece to piece.
you and senku are one of the most goal-oriented people she knows
senku will not stop until he completes what he needs to do
and you will not stop until you get what you want
it's almost scary
and when senku freed hyoga as their last resort
"we weren't cornered," senku tell ibara with a smooth confident voice despite the sweat dripping from his face. "we had you corner us into this particular room." with that, he dropped the glass of revival fluid.
of course, gen felt like he needed to mention you to get hyoga to fight for their side. "also, don't forget that if anything happens to senku, y/n-chan will have you head," he whispered out, loud enough for hyoga to hear. "i wonder what'll happen to you after seeing her dearly beloved bleeding out."
senku sighed and shook his head at the shit gen is saying, but he can't oppose to it because it's true.
the only reason hyoga was able to inflict a critical hit on you is because you were protecting tsukasa's sister. and so what if you weren't protecting anyone AND anger engulfed you?
it's safe to say that no one wants to feel the true wrath of a member of the l/n family, much less from you
"i'm alone," senku says out loud as he watched the sun set off in the distance. his back heavy from the phone, his body aching from tiredness, and his shoulder throbbing with dried blood. his eyes glistened in nostalgia as his memories of the early stone world passes through his mind. "again. i'm alone again..."
the phone rings, shocking him out of his pondering.
"can you hear me, senku-san?" called ruri from the other side. "how are things over there, senku-san?"
he stared at the phone in front of him. a smirk slipping through his lips. "no," he changes his mind. "i'm not alone this time." he then quietly added,
"i also have someone i need to go home to."
as the topic of ruri and the mainland was brought up while they ate, taiju had lots to say
"is this ruri girl chrome's girlfriend or ex or something?" amaryllis asked francois, excited to hear some juicy details about her new allies/friends.
"no, i'm told that she is senku-sama's former wife," they answered.
taiju looked absolutely shocked, shaking from the news. "what?!" he exclaimed, really loud. "when did you get married, senku?! weren't you going to marry y/n?!?!" he shook the scientist by the collar.
senku had his fingers in his ears the entire time, not phased, but annoyed. he's used to the loudness of taiju after all. "just for three minutes! we got divorced right away," he explained.
that only fueled taiju more, shaking the scientist once again. "what?! when did you get divorced, senku!? was y/n okay with this?!"
"okay! okay!" senku exclaimed as he took the hands off of his collar. "i just said we got divorced right away! also, y/n was fine with it! it was ages ago."
now, francois isn't one to oblige in gossip especially when it's related to you
but when taiju implied that you and senku are betrothed, they can't help but wonder
are you and senku really engaged to each other?
they had seen how normal engaged couples are, but the two of you don't seem to act like that
but then again, you're, y/n l/n and he's, senku ishigami
not one is normal
the small group now stared at the trashed upper control room located on the perseus
chrome was fuming. "those assholes made a damn mess! they didn't even know what they were dealing with! bastards!" he ranted as he stomped onto the floorboards.
"now's not the time to be getting all salty," senku piped up as he stuck a pinky into his ear.
"actually, i've never seen senku truly angry," taiju says, smiling at his comment.
"no, i get angry. i'm not a saint. i'm just too busy to," interrupted the scientist. "and y/n definitely seen me angry a few times."
later on, when they finally de-petrified kohaku and ginro
instead of giving ginro a hug, kohaku ran to senku, giving the scientist a hug
ginro was mad about it, but who cares about him and his pervy ways
kirisame was blushing at the sight of kohaku hugging senku. albeit, him not reciprocating that, but receiving it with a smile and soft eyes anyways.
"oh right. kirisame-chan, you think they're in a legit relationship, don't you?" gen says. "senku's actually in a relationship with someone else. kohaku's actually breaking a lot of rules doing this."
"i don't think that's what that hug is about," says amaryllis. "not between those two."
"it better not be," screamed gen, purposely gaining kohaku's attention.
kohaku broke the hug off with senku. "i almost died!" she exclaimed to gen. "let me be relieved of surviving!"
then she kneeled to the ground and made a dogeza once again at the direction of the ishigami village. "i also assure you, y/n, that that hug was nothing. i would never do you like that. i would choose you over him any day," she stated as senku rolled his eyes while both gen and nikki laughed.
"you got that right, kohaku!" nikki hollered.
later at night, once the team finished de-petrifying the islanders and the rest of their people, a party of celebration was happening at the deck of the perseus
ginro and suika found senku and his team down at the lower half of the control room where the comms are
as senku bluntly asked what ruri needed, amaryllis was shocked
"eh?? isn't this your first time talking to your former wife after all that's happened on the island?" she lets out.
"that's senku for you," is all kohaku says.
"who cares about the former wife, he's already got a current wife to think about much less than a former one," retorted gen, making kohaku hit his head.
"that's my sister you're talking about."
on a cliff, some of the battle team gathered
kohaku and kirisame stood in front of each other
ginro, kinro, nikki, and kokuyo were stationed at the side, as the audience
"now that we know why-man is our enemy, our job as the battle team is no longer to investigate," kohaku announced as the leader of the said team. "it's to train for the inevitable battle!"
ginro lets out a frightened screech. "we just defeated the petrification kingdom! this is even scarier!"
kohaku and kirisame took a stance, then lounged for each other. the two neck and neck in skill. those watching couldn't help but be in awe at the sight of the dance.
"they're evenly matched!" exclaimed nikki.
"they're both incredible," kokuyo lets out.
"you're strong," kirisame says in between strikes. "you were holding back the last time we fought, weren't you?"
kohaku scoffs. "i wasn't going easy on you. i would never be disrespectful. i apologize. i was simply not accustomed to moving around in a dress."
ginro then bursts out a scream that he held in during the entire duration of the spar, freezing the two girls in shock. he then also ran away.
kohaku shook her head at ginro. "i won't be able to teach you more than you already know since you and i fairly the same in combat skill. the only person who can teach all of us more techniques is y/n, and hopefully when senku heals her, she'll continue lessons."
"y/n? is this the person you were apologizing for?" asked kirisame.
"she's better than all of us combined," is all kohaku said as her gaze stared at the direction of the ishigami village with a sparkling look in her eyes.
a small blush slowly flushed on kirisame's cheeks the more she stared at the way kohaku looked.
it was quite an intimate look that kohaku gave
kirisame noticed it was the same one she had gave to senku
after building the windmill, chrome looked around and wondered for senku
it took a while for him to figure out where the mad scientist could have gone, but he finally found senku
opening the door to the mobile lab, chrome immediately asked, "yo, senku, what the hell are you doing all by yourself?"
senku managed to let out a chuckle. "working on an exhilarating craft," he managed to say pass his crusty lips.
"oh, shit!" chrome screamed at the shocking sight of a dehydrated and crusty senku.
senku downed a few bottles of water which made his complexion slowly come back. he lets out an exhale after drinking. "completely forgotten about hydrating. got too used to having y/n take care of that for me," he absentmindedly mentions.
senku and chrome continued to talk about the plans that senku had for later during the night.
chrome could tell that senku missed you
how could he not have noticed?
everyone practically knows also!
senku always somehow mentions you at least once a day
he never thought senku could be so damn clingy...
it takes him back to the times he witnessed the two of you intimate moments
they really need to come and revive you already
he could never get used to that empty space next to senku
later at night, a small festival was being held at the beach
the lights dimmed, gaining the attention of all
"do you hear me, all?" chrome exclaimed from the speakers. "we're gonna show you something that's going to leave the whole of treasure island speechless and wanting more! rainbow bridge, max level!"
a few seconds later, fireworks shot out into the sky.
senku stared at the night sky that bloomed an array of fireworks, imprinting their colorful displays for all to see. his eyes glistened with nostalgia, a memory popping into mind.
"hey, senku, do you think you could show these back in mainland?" asked kohaku who now stood next to him.
senku turned to her, the memory fainting away. "maybe, we'll see," he replies.
"would you change your mind if i mention that you could see these again with y/n standing by your side next time?" she retorted.
he hummed. "i was just thinking about her," he revealed, quietly. "the first time she saw fireworks, she was with me and byakuya. i could already see her whining about not being there for the first fireworks in this stone world." he scoffs, then lets out a sigh. "fine, we'll do it again at mainland."
kohaku smiled a teasing grin.
a little later, after the firework show, senku stood in front of the treasure tree. he heard footsteps behind him that got closer, and closer. "why are you here?" he asked without looking back.
"just an early morning stroll," answered kohaku. "is it not the same for you?"
"thousands of years ago, byakuya and the other astronauts set foot here for the first time in an utterly deserted new world," senku quietly says as his eyes glistened. "though they've long since turned to dirt, aside from a few fragments of rock."
kohaku scoffs as she quickly and easily climbed up the tree. "that's not true!" she exclaimed as she walked over to where the treasure laid. "you, i, and everyone else will someday die and return to dust, but their will is passed down, refined, and carried on into the future."
senku stared at kohaku who now stood at the small entrance way of the treasure. "isn't that what humanity calls 'science'? that's what you and y/n taught me, senku," she says, looking down at him.
he chuckled, feeling a bit lighter. "yeah, that's right. we're going way farther than those goofy astronauts. we're going to the moon," he stated. "and y/n will be stoked to hear it; she always did love the moon."
kohaku jumped down from the top of the tree, now standing on an elevated root. "it's not true that byakuya and his team left nothing behind. in fact, they connected everything for us," she mentioned.
senku didn't reply, but instead added, "typical, i mean, he's always done the connecting."
kohaku didn't understand what senku had meant when he said that
there are many things about senku... about you that she doesn't know about
some day, she'd like to know more about the two of you
the perseus landed
people started talking about the missing cracks
chrome immediately showed the medusa
"does that mean that mean she'll finally wake up?" tsukasa asked, stepping forward.
senku chuckled as he walked down. "yeah, let's get her out of that damn cold sleep already. our hidden treasure of japan, y/n l/n." the scientist may have not said anything else regarding you after that, but they all knew how much he wanted you to stand next to him again.
"we say cold sleep, but really, we just froze her..." commented gen.
"yeah, like an ice cube," cackled senku. "i bet you she wasn't even asleep most of the time, but suffering from the cold. she hates the cold."
gen sighs at yet another tease towards you.
"that's not the real problem though, is it? you can always trust a sailor's gut," ryusui piped up, then his eyes narrowed on the scientist. "when ibara jabbed you... senku, given how pragmatic you are, you would have healed yourself immediately with the dr. stone set. am i right? yet the crack in your forehead is still there. in other words, you didn't use it. you saved it for... y/n. why?"
"oh right, you don't know, ryusui-chan?" gen asked. "y/n-chan and senku-chan are intertwined. of course, he'd rather heal his y/n-chan over himself."
some people silently laughed knowing that it's true. ryusui, however, looked shocked. there were many implications, but never a confirmation. senku didn't say anything regarding his relationship with you, though, instead he had a different reason.
"actually, the medusa is out of battery."
that gained everyone's attention.
"that thing runs on batteries?!" exclaimed taiju, next to senku.
senku chuckled. "dunno," he says. "and we don't exactly have the luxury of smashing it open to have a look-see inside. but it is using some kind of energy. the one thing that could never happen is for it to make energy out of nothing."
he turned his head to a certain girl. "kirisame," he called out. "is the petrification beam's area specified in radii?"
"yes, why?" she answered.
"when i stoned ibara, i specified five meters. but the petrification beam barely made maybe a meter and a half."
kirisame looked taken aback. "that's impossible!" she argued. "it's never deviated in size..." then her eyes dilated as some form of realization dawned onto her. "...it's out of energy?" she lets out in shock.
here they are in the cave where you were put to sleep
chrome lifted the lid of the makeshift freezer making the cold fog explode that slowly dispersed to the floor, revealing your pale cold body.
senku walked over to stand next to you. he stared at you as his eyes glistened with memories. he absentmindedly raised his hand to your face, leaving a lingering touch. his thumb caressing your cold cheek.
the small intimate moment of affection really caught ryusui off guard
senku's eyes always held conviction
after all, his eyes are the most transparent part of him
yet ryusui never saw it that soft and so full of love before
he honestly thought that gen was messing with him
but this?
seeing it for himself really changed everything
kohaku approached and stood next to senku, holding the medusa. the two turned to each other, their eyes making contact. no words were exchanged. senku gave a nod as kohaku then bent down and placed the medusa in the space of your clasped hands.
taiju walked over and took senku's hand and placed it on top of yours. "senku! hold y/n's hand with all you've got!"
senku looked taken aback. "what?" he lets out.
"i see!" exclaimed kohaku. "if you hold her really close to the device, it might give her just a little more of the light."
"that's seriously not going to make a difference," senku retorted, but a small smile formed on his face. "fine, whatever, and if i get caught in the beam, it'll heal my wounds and cracks too; perfect."
yuzuriha then walked over, standing next to taiju. she placed her hand on his shoulder, giving him a smile. then she removed it and placed it on top of yours. kohaku and chrome, too, placed their hand on top of yours.
"one meter, one second."
the green light engulfed you as your skin slowly turned to stone. the others pulled back their hands while senku immediately took the vial of revival fluid and pours it on you. the stone skin cracked and fragments fell, both stone and ice.
you sat right up as you screamed, "senku!" then you stood up and out of the freezer, tackling him into a hug.
"did they hurt you?" he asked as he pushed away and cupped your face with one hand.
your eyes widen as a big smile formed on your face. the others were confused by what senku had meant. "no, no, i'm okay," you answered as you placed a hand over his. "did they hurt you?"
"who cares."
"i do!"
you and senku then bursts out laughing.
"sorry, what just happened?" gen managed to ask. "what was that?"
taiju and yuzuriha were chuckling as well. "every time they reunite, they always reference steven universe," yuzuriha explained. "i think it was one of the first things that y/n watched with senku."
"that gem cartoon from the states?" gen asks, but then he immediately hums afterwards. "no, wait, that makes sense."
you turned your head to kohaku with a smile and soft eyes. her eyes glistened as she stared at yours. you extended your arms as she ran into them. nuzzling her nose into your chest while you tightened your hold.
a second later, you pulled back and turned back to senku. "so what's our situation now?" you asked.
"she only just woke up," says matsukaze in awe.
"i've heard around that that's how she is," commented nikki. "always working like him."
"although, i think that she's more serious and formal than him," ukyo mentions. ryusui nods his head, agreeing with ukyo.
"we're attacking the moon!" exclaimed senku with a not-so-serious face.
you owlishly blinked at senku, then a huge excited toothy wide grin formed on your face. "ah! no way really?!" you squealed as you clasped your hands together which caught the others off guard. "senku, darling, it's your dream!" you engulfed the man into a tight hug that lifted him off the ground. if anyone caught onto that affectionate name, no one mentioned it.
he pushed you away. "we've got company, y/n, calm down," he tells you with a lazy smirk on his face.
"who cares about the company!" you retorted. "tell me: are we blowing up the moon?" you asked looking like a child that just got permission to do something they've always wanted to do.
"what?! no!" screamed out senku. "this is a mistake. maybe i should make tsukasa the soldier for the moon."
"wait, honey, no! i'm kidding!"
"i take back what i said," ukyo says in absolute awe and shock with ryusui, nikki, and matsukaze also looking hella shocked.
"yeah, my image of her is completely ruined," mentioned gen.
it was then you caught sight of new faces. "oh, hello," you formally greeted with a short bow. "i don't think i've met you guys yet. although, your face is familiar. i apologize, but could you relay your name to me again?" you gestures your entire palm at ryusui.
the four felt a wave of whiplash at the sudden change in tone and demeanor of the person in front of them; a very important person they may add.
"h-hello, i'm nikki," she greeted, really nervously.
"ah, you're the woman on the phone. i'm glad to see another woman on the battle team." you smiled at her as she nodded, freezing up and pink dusting her cheeks.
"i'm ukyo," he says, raising his hand up.
"yes! the one with good hearing. i'm pleased to see you on this side now," you tell him as he gave a loopy smile, his cheeks a bit faint of red.
"ryusui nanami," he bowed, taking your hand into his and giving a light peck on it.
your eyes widen at the familiar gesture and at the name. "ah, one of the sons of the nanami conglomerate," you acknowledged, then you realized something.
"wait!" you turned around to senku. "you guys built a boat?! just how many things did i miss?"
this time, gen spoke up, "i'll tell you all about it."
"hello, gen," you greeted with a slight smirk. "you're not walking on eggshells around me anymore," you stated as you looked him, up and down. "what changed?"
gen shook his head as he chuckled. "senku ruined your image for me," he says, making you coo.
"aw, senku, you still have that habit?"
"shut up."
this is when ginro decided to speak up. "senku, i just figured it out!" he exclaimed, his face being way too overly arrogant. "you hurried back to y/n because you were worried she was going to spoil in the freezer, right? i know you hate all that mushy stuff, though!" his elbow jabbing into senku's neck.
"he's absolutely tackless!" says kohaku.
"well, if he just wanted someone super strong, he could've taken my top student—i mean, guard, matsukaze-kun." ginro really got carried away.
matsukaze stared at you
he was wondering why you were considered the strongest
he honestly thought it was that tsukasa man
that man was trained to the absolute limit, he could tell with one look
but you?
you didn't look like you were trained like tsukasa was
he stepped towards you and gave a bow, staying in that position. "my name is matsukaze," he greeted. "y/n-dono, if it would be all right, i would like to challenge you once you are well."
you looked at the new face in glee. "oh? then how about now? let's go outside," you tell him. "oohh~ this is fun! i never had anyone challenge me before."
"gee, i wonder why," mused gen, already knowing the outcome of this fight.
matsukaze now understands why you're the strongest here and not tsukasa
you had defeated him with a single finger
a single finger that you used on his forehead to stop his lunge and forcefully push him to the ground
your leaking bloodlust and monotone stare caused him to freeze on the ground, too speechless and afraid to move
you blinked your eyes and your demeanor changed, reverting to what it once was before the fight. "oh my, i apologize, matsukaze," you tell him as you extended a hand to him. "you challenged me," is all you say.
he politely took your hand as you helped him up. he bowed down to you and say, "i am defeated."
"you're a very capable man, and i'm glad to have new members for the battle team," you tell him.
ginro is now humbled
"since the device is out of battery, senku's crack will never go away now," says suika as she walked over to in front of him
"no!" you exclaimed with a huff as if you were child who were having a tantrum.
people slowly turned to you. senku sighs, feeling like he knows what you're going to say.
"i like the stone cracks!" you announced as you walked over to senku. you then traced the lines on his forehead. "it gives him character and he looks... really... good with them."
"y/n..." senku called with a warning tone. "did that freezer like give you a damn concussion or something?"
you laughed as you just give him a hug. you arms around his shoulders, your head burying into his neck. he sighed and hugged you back with one arm that rubbed your back in a comforting way.
this is when gen was like "why should senku-chan get all the fun?" leading to everyone else getting back their petrification cracks
you included of course, after you had stopped clinging onto senku like a koala
although some people didn't forget the small public display of affection you and senku shared, in fact, it really caught them off guard
ukyo, ryusui, nikki, and tsukasa aren't used to it
you were acting like a clingy girlfriend that hadn't seen her boyfriend in months
and senku is acting like a boyfriend who's nonchalant about his girlfriend's clinginess, but everyone knows just how much he missed you!
two people with the most specific personality and a reputation to uphold, and yet here they are soft for each other
it's strange
but at the same time, it felt right
ukyo was down at the control room, double checking everything in case the islanders from treasure island had touched anything else
he thought no one else was on board besides some who would drop of supplies then leave afterwards
but then he heard you
...and senku
he looked around and saw that no one was on the surface, so the two of you were probably below nearby, in one of the rooms
"what was with you awhile ago?" senku asked.
"what do you mean?" you asked back.
"you..." ukyo could hear the hesitation in senku's voice. "did you not think that we... that i—!" a tremble in the scientist's voice. "were you... unsure of ever waking up?" he finally managed to ask. his voice whispering by the end.
a pause. all ukyo could hear was the breathing and the beating of two people. he could hear the anxiousness from each one.
"senku..." you called, softly in a whisper as well. "you need to understand that..." your voice trembling. "that i wasn't expecting you to find the medusa that quick. those months in the cold dark, i was preparing myself not to see you again for who knows how long."
you inhaled a shaky breath. your heart beating rapidly. "i know that those few months were nothing compared to the time we were apart in stone, but at least we both knew that the other was alive—!" your voiced cracked.
"just when you and i were together again, the stone world takes it away once more. how cruel is that?" you let out a shaky fake laugh.
"i could have died in my sleep, senku," you croaked out to him, sniffling and trembling. your breathing became rigid as senku's became heavy. you were probably crying at this point.
both of your hearts were beating so fast as well.
"no," senku says with full on denial. "no, y/n, you would have not died. y/n, you would have not fucking died!" he screamed out.
"what do you know?!" you screamed back at him. "i was the one in that damn freezer. i know what my body felt like throughout those damn fucking months. you know how my—" you took a deep breath. "my body felt like it was on it's way to death!"
"hah~ shit," you exhaled a shaky breath. "maybe i have already died, and i'm just wishing that you were next to me." a thud to the floor then rapid footsteps, ukyo heard.
"y/n, y/n, shit— don't do this— fuck! i'm here, y/n, i'm real. dammit y/n—! i'm right here!" senku screamed out in reassurance.
then ukyo heard a desperate kiss shared between the two.
ukyo left the perseus in a daze at what he heard
he could hear the emotions the two of you felt during the entirety of that
it was strong
to the point that he could feel it as well
"ukyo-chan?" called gen. "did something happen on the perseus? why are you crying?"
ukyo raised his hand and wiped his cheeks. it's true, he's crying. "um..." he hesitated. "senku and... y/n-san are..."
gen widen his eyes then it softened. "let's leave those two be for now," he says. "it must've been hard for them both. i've never seen them apart from each other for that long."
ukyo fully believes it now
that you two are together
even before the kiss had happen

also woah, i posted... revolutionary!
ever since senku arrived at the newfound kingdom of science, he's always had someone next to him
that someone is you
you are never too far from senku
and senku is never too far away from you
when kohaku met senku under that log, that's when she saw you the first time
at first she didn't question it, thinking that you might've just not been there when she saw the fight, but after observing you and senku
she then changed her mind and thought it was strange that she didn't see you
the way the two of you worked together was mesmerizing; efficiently done in silence
she could see that the two of you have some sort of special relationship with that silent communication
you reminded her of her sister; almost princess like with the way you carry your knowledge and demeanor
that impression quickly changed when you flipped ginro and kinro to the ground when they tried to attack senku
it happened so fast that you were just a blur in the corner of her eye! you were faster than her and you took them both out with a single hand
at that moment she knew not to cross senku
she wasn't even sure if she could defeat you
she almost pities the long-haired man
when gen appeared, you didn't recognize him, but he had recognized you
of course he did
everyone in japan knows who you are and anyone who doesn't is living under a rock
he was confused on why a person of your caliber is acting like a servant
maybe for survival, but he's sure that you'd be able to survive on your own
but then he started observing the two of you and this master-servant relationship seemed normal on both end
it made him curious on just what exactly your relationship with senku is
his curiosity skyrocketed after he overheard a conversation between you and senku
gen stood at the bottom of the hut after you and senku climbed up. he was lucky enough that you didn't spot him (well, that's what he thinks).
"so," senku spoke. "do you know him?" then asked. there was a pause. gen thinks you might've gave a non-verbal answer. senku chuckles. "of course, i didn't think you would. he's just some tv show mentalist."
gen rolled his eyes at that, but agrees with what senku said. it would be very shocking to hear that you know of him. "so he's a psychologist?" the first words he heard from you.
"yeah," answered senku. "he wrote these magazines that some of the club talked about some times. it would have questions like "if you could only save one, would you rather save your mother or your partner?" how illogical is that?" he scoffs.
this time you chuckled at him. "but senku," you interrupted. "you do understand just how useful he is, right?" gen felt a chill run up his spine as his whole body tensed up. your light tone immediately changed to a more penetrating one. it almost feels like you're reminding senku of your authority.
"yeah, yeah, i know, and don't use that tone on me. you know that shit don't work," senku replies, dismissing your tone like it was nothing! and to which you giggled at in a playful manner. "so, your assessment of him?" he then asked.
"gen is like a stray cat; give him something to eat and he'll stay," you answered with smooth confidence. "sooner or later he'll ask you for something in exchange for his loyalty." you let out a chuckle. "isn't that right, gen?"
he quickly walked away and didn't look back
maybe you were the one to plant the seed in him
maybe it was senku with his fast-paced bringing back the modern world (and his charisma)
or maybe it was the both of you
but whatever it was, in the end you were right
gen became an important member of the the kingdom of science
although he still wants answers about the two of you
there's two stories that ruri likes out of all hundred tales
she loves sharing them the most
after all, it's the only two love stories from it
number ninety-eight: loyalty built from love
there was once a girl who had everything
everything but happiness
the people around her always worshipped her like a god
it made her feel lonely and dull
but then she met a boy
a boy who knew of everything
everything except who she is
she talked to him...
she argued against him...
she laughed alongside him
she made him smile....
they were friends
they were inseparable
but then she felt love
he didn't like love
she was afraid
he became distant
she sought after him
he stopped seeing her
she went to him
it was silent
then she talked...
then he shouted...
then they confessed
they were in love
her love shined through the things she did for him
loyalty knows no bounds when you're in love
number ninety-nine: learning to love
there was once a boy who found everything interesting
everything except love
he thought it was illogical
and he didn't want to feel it
but then he met a girl
a girl who can do everything
everything except how to feel
he talked to her...
he fought her...
he laughed with her...
he smiled at her
they were friends
they were inseparable
he felt different with her
he didn't know what it was
it scared him
he tried to push her away
she stayed
he ignored her
she confronted him
it was silent
then she spoke...
then he screamed...
then they confessed
they were in love
his love was seen from the way he treated her
love wasn't so illogical than he thought he did
there was no names mentioned in the two love stories
ruri wished the founder of the village had included the names
maybe it did but was forgotten through time
kohaku didn't really care about her own romances
but if it's other's?
then that's when she's interested
she could never forget the scene she saw between you and senku after the grad bout ended
the placed turned quiet as the realization seeped in. the winner of the grand bout is senku which means... "the new village chief and the husband of the priestess is the winner of the grand bout, senku!"
"well, this is a pain in the ass," senku says as he stuck his pinky into his ear. "so i just have to marry ruri and the whole village is mine, right?" he approached ruri. "i'll do it then."
from the corner of kohaku's eye, she saw you hurriedly walk away with a tightly closed fist. you're actually walking away without senku. that's the first time she ever saw you go away from senku.
she turned back to senku who's staring at your retreating figure. he turned his head back and demanded, "wine! bring me wine!" then after that, it all happened so quickly. senku divorced her sister, took the wine, and ran back to the kingdom of science, dragging kaseki with him.
once they arrived, senku left towards the laboratory where you were, gathering the materials to make the sulfa drug. kohaku watched as you ignored senku. he reached up and flicked your forehead. the two of you talked, rather fast paced with how fast the two of you exchanged words.
senku gently reached out for you hand, bringing it up to his lay on his cheek. he turned his head and kissed your palm.
kohaku's eyes widen in shock.
it looked like you laughed and tackled him into a hug that almost caused you both to fall. you stepped back as you brought your hands up to cup his face. you spoke a few words, then brought your face down to his forehead, giving it a gentle yet light kiss.
kohaku's jaw slacked in shock.
she remembered being flustered, shocked, and confused from the sudden public display of affection the two of you showed
it changed the way she sees the two of you
she always thought that you were like a bodyguard for senku, but also good friends
but if that's how you two always act when you think no one's watching?
maybe the two of you aren't just friends
at first, homura went around spreading the fire to the village
then all she saw was black the next
when hyoga revealed that he was just a distraction, the fire wasn't as big as he planned it to be
in fact, he never planned for homura to be carried in bridal style by someone he didn't expect
did senku revive you? why would he revive you? wait, how did he even find you? your place is no where near where they are right now
it doesn't make any sense
but for now, he'll retreat
he'll surely be beaten by you in mere minutes
chrome admires you and senku, everyone could see that
senku taught him many things about being a sciencer and you'd teach him "life skills"
the two of you work so well together
there are times wherein he watches you and senku work in the lab and it would always leave him in awe
how can the two of you work that well and that fast without any talking?!
are you also a science user like him?
but senku said you weren't so that made him slightly confused
it became even more confusing when he saw you beat kohaku in a spar for the grand bout
just who are you?
and why are you so good at everything?
it reminds him of something but he can't remember what exactly
then he saw something between you and senku that he can't help but make assumptions from
senku turned away from the group after experimenting with the bamboo filaments. "damn it," he cursed out. "bamboo filaments are just fundamentally too weak for vacuum tubes." your shoulders dropped as you looked at senku in worry.
"i don't get science, but bamboo is too weak, is that right?" kohaku spoke up.
"what do we need?" chrome asked with desperation. "if we need something tougher, i'll go find it!"
"no..." senku turned around, showing his pained expression. "there's nothing better in this age."
kohaku and chrome gathered the baskets of rocks that he collected and placed them out in the open for anyone to look through. from the news that senku needed something other than bamboo, the villagers who were still awake gathered at the kingdom of science to help.
chrome turned to call for senku, but he hesitated.
you stood next to senku and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. he turned to you with eyes that chrome can't explain as he placed his hand on top of yours. you brought your other hand and took hold of his hand that was on top of your other one. you guided his hand to the side of your lips and placed a kiss on his palm.
chrome's bulged out of his sockets in shock. his face feeling a bit flustered.
you slowly went down his arm, leaving a trail of kisses. you stopped at his inner elbow and turned to his face. chrome thought you were going to kiss senku, but instead you left a peck on his cheek. you spoke a few words to him and he let out a small smile.
chrome knows that smile
it's the smile that he only gives to you
he never understood why that smile felt different from all the other smiles and smirks senku gives
but from what he just witnessed
maybe the two of you hold a special bond that he should've noticed sooner
it was senku's birthday
the entire village gathered at the kingdom of science
ruri stared at you from afar
you watched as senku was guided towards the newly built watch tower (observatory)
it was the first time she'd seen you not go after senku
after all, the two of you were inseparable
it reminds her about the two love stories from the hundred tales
you started walking away from her line of vision. ruri watched as you walked towards the watch tower as the main group of the kingdom of science left. she could see senku climbing down as well, then approached you. you immediately took his hand in yours and placed the other on his cheek. you spoke a few words then leaned down, giving him a tender yet short kiss on the lips.
on the lips.
on the lips.
AND HE DIDN'T PUSH YOU AWAY!111!1!!!
ruri doesn't remember what happened after that
she was too flustered over the sudden public display of affections the two of you shared that it was the only thing stuck in her head for a while
although, she now hopes that her two favorite stories were based off of the relationship you and senku hold with each other
if only
the first time kohaku, well, anyone, saw you cry was when senku's father relayed a message to you (instead of his own son)
"senku, it's you, isn't it?"
"—nah, you don't need that dramatic father-and-son crap, do you?" senku cackled from that. "but y/n better be there standing next to you like she always is." it was the first mention of you from the record. "i know rebuilding japan will be your priority, y/n, but i also know that you'll stay by senku's side to rebuild the world. take care of him for me, y/n!"
from the corner of kohaku's eye, she saw you raising your hands up to your face, covering it. she saw senku move his arm that lays on your lower back. it looks like he's comforting you.
something then happened that kohaku can never forget
it'll be embedded in her head for so long
kohaku walked towards senku about to call him out, but stopped mid walk. senku stood next to you; both of your backs facing her. he turned his head to look at you. you turned your head to look at him. a few words were exchanged. he raised his hand and gently held your chin. he pulled you towards him and gave a short peck, but then you took hold of his collar and smashed your lips back onto his.
...
kohaku paused for a second. "senku!" then decided to just call the scientist out and continued with what she was going to tell senku either way.
gen was about to go up the observatory when he heard you and senku having a talk
"hey, senku, how would you feel if i..." your question trailed off, hinting at something that seemed like only you and senku know about, or you did something non-verbal.
there was a pause; senku probably thinking over his reply. "but i thought you like playing this game?"
they were playing a game? at this time? gen thought to himself, confused.
"of course i do; it amuses me. this game can only be played a few times after all. i'm only asking because i thought it'd be my turn to do it," you clarified which didn't really make any sense to gen at all. what you said got rid of the image that you two are playing game. just what the hell are you two talking about up there?
there was another pause. "just come up already. what do you want?" it was senku calling him.
kohaku was never afraid of you
why would she be?
you're no enemy
"senku, let me make something clear," kohaku called out. "homura's movements are exceptional."
"gymnastics," says senku. "it's a skill that doesn't exist in your age. y/n can do them too." he jerked his head to your direction you.
"we won't be able to capture her unharmed, but i could behead her with my sword. am i free to kill her?" a serious question kohaku dropped. yours and senku's eyes narrowed at her.
"kohaku, have you ever killed a human being?" you asked kohaku, now standing in front of her. kohaku opened her mouth, but you raised your hand up. "of course you haven't—i know that—and you'll hesitate when the time comes, but, please, kohaku," you called her name with a shaky tone and a hint of guilt that she never heard from you. "never offer yourself to kill another human being. you need to keep that morality with you, it's what makes a person human."
kohaku understood what you said
but she was left with questions that hung in the air, afraid to be asked
were you surrounded by death through killing?
or were you the one killing?
she really wouldn't dare ask
gen knows just how formidable the people around tsukasa are
but the thing is the kingdom of science has you
and he kind of wants to brag about that
"i'm sure you guys know how strong tsukasa is, but it's not just him. the people around him are formidable as well," says nikki through the phone. she then revealed another of tsukasa's allies being someone of great hearing.
"ukyo?" senku asks, turning to gen.
"he was a sonar operator on a submarine," explained gen. "he's got insanely good hearing. that's why tsukasa woke him up."
"good hearing you say?" you piped up. "what a useful thing in certain situations. what are the chances we could get him to our side?" you asked senku with a carefree grin to which he just fondly smiles at.
it was then gen realized something after your comment. "y/n-chan, is it true that your family are...?" he trailed off, not sure how to ask and afraid that you'd be offended from him bringing up rumors about your family.
you understood what he was asking, but all you did was chuckle making senku sigh. gen smartly decided not to push any further. he also took your ominous chuckle as confirmation.
"wait," called nikki. "y/n?"
gen smirked. "yes, nikki! we have the l/n y/n on our side! tsukasa and his army may be formidable, but we have the most formidable on our side," he boasted proudly. "as everyone in japan knows, no one can ever beat a member of the l/n family."
you smiled knowingly, feeling a sense of control and pride at gen's comment making senku sigh once more. "can we stop feeding her ego?" he comments
"y/n!" screamed taiju, both as a calling out and a greeting. "are you taking care of senku?!"
"i am perfectly capable of taking care of myself," commented senku with a deadpan.
you howled out a laughter. "of course i am taiju. are you taking care of yuzuriha?" you asked back.
"yes i am!" he answered confidently to which you laughed fondly at.
gen's plan was to just brag about you
but he was not expecting to get something interesting out of this
he thought yuzuriha and taiju didn't know about you
but they do
which just brings him more questions than answers, honestly
when could they have met you?
actually now that he thinks about it, when did senku meet you?
when magma came back after escaping the hands of ukyo, he also relayed the message that chrome got abducted
kohaku immediately wanted to barge in and take chrome back
and she could never forget the humbling moment of when you instantly stopped her
"chrome's been captured by the tsukasa empire!" exclaimed suika in a fits of worry and panic.
"well, what's the plan, twig?" demanded magma towards senku.
a serious look on the scientist's face as you straightened your posture up, standing next to him. kohaku frowned then ran off with her sword in hand.
"kohaku?!" screamed ruri. "she's not going to help him by herself, is she?"
"she's so quick to act," commented kaseki.
"stop kohaku!" kokuyo commanded, pointing in the directed his daughter took off.
ginro looked at the former village chief in aghast. "but how?! there's no one in this village who can catch up to kohaku-chan!"
oh but there is someone.
"y/n." with one simple call from senku, you had already appeared in front of kohaku, disarmed her of her sword, and pushed her against the ground.
all in three seconds.
she was right from the start
she could never beat you
it really is a good thing you're on their side
of all the people he'd expect to be on the other side of this stone world call
he never would have expected you
in fact, ukyo never expected to to talk to you at all
but here he is
being reassured by you, of all people
"—if you promise to produce zero casualties, i'll cooperate with you. but if you kill even one person..."
senku starts cackling at his request. "sounds great! i'm in." gen shrieks at this. "no problem. we've said—" senku turned around to see your hand on his shoulder. he immediately moved away for you to stand in front of the microphone.
"i do not know what kind of person you are, ukyo, but you are naive to think that a war would not have any bloodshed." he freezes. he knows that voice... he knows it too well. everyone in japan knows it too well. "however, i know how senku is. i know that his plan from the beginning were to have zero casualties, and if that's the plan, then i assure you that there will be no bloodshed at all."
"that's gonna be a pretty tough battle!" exclaimed gen after your declaration.
ukyo believed you
he believed you immediately
he had no reason to doubt you... or senku
especially when you supported him that confidently
he feels relieved to know that you're not on tsukasa's side
if you were
then the ground would've been red
tsukasa never expected there to be a phone in the grave of senku
he never expected for some of his allies to turn against him
he also didn't believe hyoga when he said you were revived
but maybe he should've believed him
but at the same time, what good would it be if he had believed hyoga?
tsukasa is sure that no one can beat you
not even the strongest high school primate
"i can save everyone with this paper airplane dynamite," says senku as the nitroglycerin covered airplane exploded upon impact at a tree.
"what the hell was that?!" stammered ginro.
"anyone caught in that would be gone without a trace," commented kinro.
kohaku stared in awe at the leftover the explosion made, then smirked smugly. "human strength is laughable in comparison to the power of science."
senku laughs. "we made it just in time. you held out well, battle team."
"the kingdom of science has just completed dynamite! it has the power of ten billion megaton joules," gen boldly gave out a lie. senku glanced at him calling out for his bold ass lie to which gen defended that senku sucks at negotiating.
"whether i parry it or smack it down, it'll explode. there's no way to dodge a large blast." tsukasa hums. "yes, it's true that we're out of moves, but that would surely cause collateral damage and kill many people. senku, you're incapable of abandoning people. you would never sacrifice yourself either."
"well, well, it looks like we're both stuck. this isn't a victory; it's a stalemate," says senku. "in your eyes anyways." he moved forward and held onto another nitroglycerin covered airplane. "did you know nitroglycerin is y/n's favorite?"
tsukasa froze at the sudden information drop. so it was true? of all the people, why would you be on senku's side? in fact, why were you at this side of the country at all when the petrification happened?
"y/n, no bloodshed remember?"
tsukasa looked behind him to see you standing there with a knife against his throat. he didn't even hear you nor sensed your presence. is this the power you hold as a member of the l/n family? "are you going to take revenge, senku?" he asked.
"no, of course not," senku deadpans. "let's negotiate, tsukasa."
throughout the entire negotiation, you did not move one bit away from his neck
tsuksa knew of your abilities, but seeing it in person was a different experience
he had one question for you though
why do you let senku command you like that?
"what reason do i have to believe you?" he asked senku.
"all you have is my word. i don't lie when it comes to science," answered senku, cooly. "is that not enough?" tsukasa heard you softly squeal at the sight of senku. does senku really have you wrapped around his finger that quickly? no, that wouldn't make any sense. unless the two of you share some history together?
"no, that's plenty."
this would be chrome's first time watching someone get revived from petrification
instead, before that could happen, he revealed some information that he thought was common knowledge
it wasn't
as senku was about to pour the revival fluid, taiju stopped him. "wait senku! mirai-chan's naked," exclaimed taiju as he poked senku's eyes. "no! you can't revive her now!"
senku writhed on the ground in pain, covering his eyes. "here we go again with your absurd nonsense," he managed to let out. "we're in an emergency, in the stone world! who cares if you're buck naked or if your peepee's showing?" he raised his hand up, rubbing his eye to soothe the pain, then removed them showing his teary eyes. "you really like this plot twist, don't you? we'll figure it out once she wakes up—"
"but if it's y/n, would you be okay with it?" senku snapped his mouth shut at taiju's rebuttal. he turned over to you, who's standing next to him, to see a smirk growing on your face. he could already feel the headache coming from this small tease.
you raised your hand and casually revealed, "actually he revived me naked, so..." heads turned to senku who flinched at the sudden movement, all of them looking shocked (sans kohaku, she's actually mad).
"senku!" kohaku roared, drawing her dagger out.
"what's wrong with that?" asked chrome, breaking the tension. kohaku turned her head to glare at chrome who flinched at that hostility.
"chrome-chan, it's bad manners to see someone naked without their consent," informed gen, treating chrome as if he was an innocent child.
"no, i know that!" exclaimed chrome. "but they bathe together, so they see each other naked all the time," he then revealed. heads turned once again to senku, but this time to you as well to which senku sighs and you laugh at.
"and just how do you know that, chrome?" senku asks, then lets out a disgusted face. "don't tell me..."
"no!" denied chrome immediately. "i notice you guys heading towards the springs together a lot and y/n would be carrying a bamboo basket of like these cases and i also saw soap in it, so i assumed that you two would be taking a bath... together." he then realized the implications of what he revealed and turned red.
god bless yuzuriha on making a set of clothes for mirai, breaking the tension.
many things were revealed that night
under the curtesy of chrome
he never thought too deeply about the things he know, but saying it out loud made him realize some things
it made gen and tsuka understand just what of relationship you hold with senku as well (kind of)
and so the question changes
how did you and senku get to that point?
"senku..." chrome called out. "we're missing some dynamite," he shared with a serious tone.
upon hearing that you quickly scanned the area and noticed who are missing, and bolted off. a few minutes later, an explosion rang out, then you heard gen screaming out to the villagers to hurry up.
you snuck up on hyoga, bloodlust accidentally slipping which made him dodge, but barely. a line of blood forming across the back of his shoulder blades. he raised his spear and instead of aiming it at you, he aimed it at mirai. you moved forward, blocking the attack on hitting her. the spear pierced through you, but not as deep as hyoga wanted since you were able to stop it by holding onto it.
"so you're not impenetrable," he mused.
"go fuck yourself," you spat.
you broke the spear in half then pushed it through you, popping it out from the back. you spun around, catching the bloodied half of the spear, then turned right back around, using the momentum to throw it towards hyoga.
"get out of there! tsukasa! mirai!" you heard senku cry out from the distance. "y/n!" then you heard him let out this blood curdling scream.
you lost balance from the powerful throw causing you to slip and fall. tsukasa ran over. hyoga blocked the spear with the other half of it. tsukasa managed to catch you, holding onto your wrist. hyoga quickly picked up the bloodied upper half of the spear and aimed it at tsukasa. you swung yourself forward, your feet flat against the mountain wall and pushed yourself off, pulling tsukasa down with you. hyoga missed his stab, grazing the side of his torso instead. the sudden pull made mirai slip from the edge, but luckily senku caught up and pulled her away from the edge. however, hyoga then kicked senku off the mountain to which he jumped down afterwards.
senku's hands trembled as he held the wound, putting pressure on it. you could feel his fright against your skin, in fact, you're just as frightful as he is. the both of you can't lose each other. he can't lose you; and you don't wanna leave him. tsukasa kept himself busy as he fought against hyoga, but anyone with eyes could see that tsukasa is affected by the cut.
"you need to work with him, senku, i can survive for a few minutes," you managed to tell him as you reached towards your wound, holding it down with two hands. "you two can end this fight just as quickly as it started. we both know how bad water and blood is inside of a punctured lung." your breathing increased.
"save your breath! y/n, please..." senku lowered his head, laying it against your forehead.
"then go and help tsukasa already," you forcefully told him with gritted teeth.
hyoga managed to get his way over to where the two of you were. he kicked you away from senku. "y/n!" he screamed out.
anyone could tell that senku was distressed
it was the most obvious thing
you've been unconscious for barely a few hours and yet he's become restless
the people who know senku well enough are shocked at this newfound side of his
then again at the same time, they weren't shocked
everyone knows just how much you and senku care for each other despite not knowing just what exactly the relationship the two of you hold
(there was assumptions of it, but that's all they were: bold assumptions)
"senku, you need to rest," advised gen, looking worried. "you took a beating as well."
senku shook his head. "what's the point of sleeping when i need to think of a way to save y/n," he replied, pacing in the cave room you laid in.
taiju and yuzuhira glanced at each other, worried for their long time friend. this was not the first time this had happened. they hoped it would be the last, but here they are yet again, watching senku worry upon hours for an injured you.
"senku, do you want to sleep in here?" yuzuriha asked softly. senku looked up at her and nodded, no words to be said.
"i'll get a spare bed for you senku! no worries!" exclaimed taiju as he ran off.
"has he ever been like this before?" kohaku asked, going straight to the point. gen and chrome walked closer to kohaku and yuzuriha.
yuzuriha's lips drew into a thin line, unsure if she should share. she knew about the game you and senku liked to play, after all, she was one of the first victims. "only when y/n becomes reckless and injuries herself, but this time it's worse. it's hard to heal an injury as severe as that in the stone world."
"it's obvious," mentioned gen. "i may not know what relationship they have together, but if my assumptions are right, then it makes sense. usually senku would've thought of something by now, but he hasn't. his mind is being blocked by anxiousness, panic, and worry. he needs to calm down."
"senku..." you weakly called out which caught senku's attention immediately, and crouched down next to you. "get your ass to sleep." the others were taken aback at the first sentence you spoke after you woken up from a short coma.
senku let out a huff of amusement. "of course that's the first thing you say," he mentions.
"you know me so well, love." a weak smirk formed on your face. if anyone picked up on the sudden affectionate name, they didn't mention it. "but seriously though, how can you save me when you can't even think straight. you know me well, but i know you just as well, senku."
senku furrowed his brows.
"you need to accept what you need to do, senku."

'"well, well, it looks like we're both stuck. this isn't a victory; it's a stalemate." senku says shaking his head, walking out of the cave with a paper airplane covered with nitroglycerin at the tip.
"and you deliberately created this situation. which means, senku, you objective is—" tsukasa comments as senku nods, "yeah, to negotiate, tsukasa." then explains the proof he's gathered to make a conclusion on his actions, "she's alive, isn't she? your sister, i mean."
tsukasa clenches his fists then raises his hand, "i have to stop you right there, senku. there is nothing you can do for my sister to be well again. also, this isn't a stalemate; it's our victory." he says sternly as he motioned towards the forest.
just then a figure started walking out to which tsukasa nods at, "i am not the strongest high schooler for there is one that i cannot beat. i am sure that we all know who she is, after all, her family used to be one the tops back in the modern days. if there is a war, it's nothing that family can't handle."
the figure now stood next to tsukasa, lo and behold, this person is you!
you haven't noticed that there is a war going on and just started casually hitting tsukasa, "oi shin-shin, you wake me up and then just leave immediately! i mean i could have followed you but i literally just woke up from i don't know how long of a sleep that was! the hell's even happening, explain!" you complained, puff particles coming out of you as you frowned.
"no way! that's y/n of the l/n clan!"
"we're totally winning now that y/n's here!"
gen clearly pales and turns to senku, "ya senku! that's y/n!" he points to you as senku just nods and puts a finger in his ear, "yup, i see that and?" gen deadpans at him.
"are you kidding?! she's part of the l/n clan, blood-wise, meaning she's military and government trained on another level! very much different from what tsukasa went through. if we can barely beat tsukasa, then we're no match for y/n! we're all dead!" then he noticed something, "wait—you're... too calm."
senku hums, "i have to act rational; another enemy and if tsukasa says she's stronger than him then—" gen interrupted him and shook his hand, "no, no, do you know her?" he asks which made senku look at him dumbfounded, "hah? you literally just said that everyone knows her because of her family, the l/n clan or whatever."
gen shakes his head, "no! i mean, from the way you're fidgeting right now. i say you know her personally—" before he could explain further, you began shouting.
you held tsukasa as you shook him, "hah?! the hell do you mean were in a war?!" you then started kicking him, "i didn't personally train you to become a war addict! that's my job!"
tsukasa held your foot up then suddenly you're upside down, "calm down, y/n, please just defeat them even better if you kill off their leader; senku." he points towards the said person and dropped you in the process.
you landed on your feet then dusted yourself off and straightened up from the name you heard. you looked at the other side to see the groups of people then him, senku.
you and senku made—kept—eye contact.
no one said a word as the two of you looked at each other then you started walking towards him. of course, the battle team immediately went to his side, to protect him. however, senku only dismisses them, "don't engage." the team looked at him in shock and tries to protest but he shook his head, "only engage if she makes an attack."
you now stood right in front of senku, doing nothing but stare at him with a blank face while he has a smirk on his. and in a quick second, you dash towards him, dust spreading up, and following quickly behind were the battle team.
once the dust clears, the battle team is shown to be pointing their weapons at you while you're seen hugging senku, bawling your eyes out. "oh senku! i miss you so much! never leave me in the dark again! WAHHHSDFSJDN!" and that ultimately made the battle team fall dramatically.
along with mostly everyone else, shock written in their faces from the unexpected scene.
senku started pushing down on your head using his hand, "stop feeling me up! we're in a middle of a war, you brat!" he screamed at you while you just continued crying, "but senku!" then you dramatically placed a hand on your forehead, "oh how long have i gone through years of petrification without my beloved!"
"BELOVED!??!?!"
you turned to the groups of people, "oh right war." you stood up, dusting yourself once again then you placed a hand on your hip and with your other hand, started pointing between the two sides. "now which side should i choose?" you say with a smirk and a hint of mischievous in your eyes.
but then senku hit your head again, "stop trying to act like the bad guy, just stay there. i got some negotiating to do." he says turning back to tsukasa as you stayed there pouting, "b-but senku—!"
senku sighs ignoring you, "back to what i was saying before i was rudely interrupted." he says now explaining that we—he—can save tsukasa's sister from the petrification. however, before tsukasa could respond, another interruption.
"hey y/n, did you know that tsukasa killed senku?" gen suddenly says as you froze up, "hah?" suddenly a dangerous aura starts emitting out of you making the side liners back up a bit. senku also froze up sensing the all-too-familiar dark aura he's dealt with many times.
you now stood in front of senku, cracking your knuckles, with a scary look on your face. "oi shishio, the hell does gen mean by that? answer correctly or your skull might be in the ground." you threatened that also made tsukasa wince a bit (especially from the proper use of his first name).
gen now has a smirk on his face, "hey y/n, did you also know that dear senku is married?" you turned your head so fast towards senku that it cracked a few times, "hah?" senku stiffened from your sudden head turn then starts hitting gen, "don't make her mad at me now, you mentalist!"
"well, he's divorced now." gen says shakily while you let out a sigh of relief but then senku started tying you up. your relief went into stress, "oi! the fuck you doing senku?! as much as i love being tied up by you, not now!" senku growls, "shut up, not now, later."
"what reason do i have to believe you?" tsuksa suddenly asks making senku stop tying you up and turning to him, same goes with you.
immediately, senku stood back in front of tsukasa (from a distance) as if nothing ever happened while you laid on the ground, tied up.
senku says nothing at first then takes a breath, "all you have is my word. i don't lie when it comes to science. is that not enough?" he says as the sun rays hit his face, his eyes glistening.
tsukasa says nothing at first then lifts his head up, his face showing relief, "no, that's plenty."
then the serious atmosphere ended when you opened your mouth once again, "kyah~! that was so cool, senku! you look so hot with the sun shining down on you and shit." you squealed, moving about while tied up.
senku's expression quickly turned unamused and turned to you, "come on now." he started dragging you away with the rest of the kingdom of science.
time skip to the point where the group started heading towards the mountain areas to dig up tsukasa's sister. of course, you're there also with senku.
"i decided to carry that sin, to make it an opportunity to build a new world; that's why. my goals haven't changed, nor will they in the future. that's why, senku, this is no more than a truce." tsukasa says after a deep talk about what would you do in a world of stone.
senku scoffs, "that's fine." you, on the other hand, "oi shin-shin, hurt senku and you're dead." you called out as he just ignore your threat and chuckled. senku, next to you, bonks you on the head, "calm down."
gen, who's driving the tank, "no one asked yet so; just who are you to senku?" he asks turning to you and senku. the both of you said nothing but gave each other a look to which you started giggling at while senku gave a knowing smirk.
gen made a face of nervousness, "well that's ominous." meanwhile taiju held his hand over his mouth, trying to keep a secret that you and senku had asked for it to be (a secret). yuzuriha looked at her (boy)friend with a nervous smile.
time skip once again to the point where they found tsukasa's sister. just as senku was about to pour the revival liquid, taiju suddenly has a stern face. "wait, senku! mirai-chan's naked!" he says as he pokes both of senku's eyes, "no! you can't revive her now!"
senku hurled on the ground, trembling and clutching his eyes, "here we go with your absurd nonsense. we're in an emergency, in the stone world! who cares if you're buck naked or if your dick's hanging around?" he clicks his tongue then sits up, "you really like this plot twist, don't you?"
taiju shakes his head, "you wouldn't say the same if it was y/n." he points out as senku stayed silent. you, who's been next to senku the entire time, started giggling and poking his cheek, "aw senku~ you love me." he, however, just swayed your hand away, "shut up already."
then yuzuriha pops up showing a piece of clothing for mirai, "is this about the right size?" "that was fast!"
another time skip to the point after the revival when people are starting to pack up and head back to the village. just as hyoga was about to kill mirai, tsukasa jumped in to save her. except, it wasn't tsukasa who took the hit.
it was you.
you held onto the spear that would have nearly killed tsukasa, however, it still pierced through him but not in a lethal spot anymore. "oi hyoga, out of the types of people in a war, i hate yours the most." you let your guard down when tsukasa slowly fall into the river current, "shin!"
hyoga used this chance to stab your shoulder causing you to fall next to mirai, "fucker!" you bit your tongue. meanwhile, senku tried saving tsukasa but he's weak as fuck so they both ended up falling. hyoga also disappeared during this.
"let me go! i need to get to senku!" you exclaimed as gen and chrome held onto you. you lost your strength making you fall onto the ground, tearing up, "i can't lose him, not again." you whispered out but only gen heard.
it was already night when the team had found them; senku, tsukasa, hyoga, and unsurprisingly homura. when they got back and entered the clinic, the moment you saw senku, you immediately embraced him into a tight hug and of course, he hugged back.
the two of you stayed like that for a while. no words needed.
meanwhile the main cast are gossiping about you two. "for senku to hug someone? she's special." koharu points out as gen nods, "yup, i say they're together." he says raising a hand.
chrome looks between the two, "dating? senku? are you guys talking about the same senku who goes 'oh love is illogical blah blah blah' here?" he deadpans but gen and koharu just points at you two, hugging and probably whispering to each other.
chrome looks absolutely baffled at the two of you hugging as if there's no tomorrow, "what the hell? bad! that's so bad!" he exclaims.
of course, the two of you know they've been watching.
you let of a smirk into senku's shoulder, "so you wanna make out to get in their heads?" senku gently pushed you off and deadpans at you. however, you saw that glint in his eyes, "aw senku, come on, say the word and i'll—" you licked your lips, "devour you."
senku says nothing until a smirk gets plastered on his face and it's the smirk where he just thought of something... sinister. he took hold of your collar and pulled you into him, his lips smashing into yours as he falls onto the bed with you following on top of him, lips locked together.
gen, chrome, and koharu watched the scene in shock, jaws dropped and all, seeing you two making out all of a sudden. the three immediately turned around and started awkwardly walking off.
chrome started laughing forcefully, "well, we still got stuff to pack! HA HA HA!" koharu just sighs and rubs her temple, "i did not need to see that, from senku no less." while gen has a knowing smirk on his face, "i knew it! see, i told you guys they're together but i am shocked to see dear old senku initiating a kiss." then he pales, "wait—he's dating y/n of the l/n clan?! that's such a powerful ally! and he's got her wrapped around his fingers as well!" he started foaming from shock while koharu just rubs his back.
you pushed yourself off of senku once you heard that they walked away. you licked your lips and stared at senku, "make a condom already, i haven't had dick in centuries." you started grinning, "never thought i'd say that."
senku rolled his eyes and push you off as he stands up now. you suddenly feel disheartened as your shoulders fall, "senku," you whispered out in a tone that you know senku will respond to. he turned to you in slight shock, "yes?" he asks in a gentle tone.
you avoided eye contact, "do you still... love me?" you closed your eyes feeling that the worst is going to happen but you heard nothing instead, you felt a soft bonk on your head. you looked up with tears falling down your face, "senku?" he said nothing and embraced you into a warm hug.
"even in stone—after centuries—my feelings for you never changed. not once."
even if tsukasa wasn't in a deadly state, he still had to get cold sleep since his wound was still deep. afterwards, senku called in a meeting to explain the petrification beam and what the next goal is.
then suddenly, "also before anyone asks; yes, y/n is my girlfriend. anyone who will touch her without mine or her permission will be used on experiments. that's all." senku announced shocking everyone including you.
you stood next to senku baffled, "the hell did you announce that for?" you asked with furrowed brows, confused. senku turned to you with a confused look also, "huh? what do you mean? you're mine and mine alone. i'm not going to let anyone think that they have a chance with you. have you seen yourself?" he comments then turns away, probably from embarrassment.
gen, hearing everything, had a smug look on his face, "i never thought i'd hear senku say something remotely close to being romantic, much less jealousy." he comments.
you stood there blushing with a wide smile on your face, your hands in front of your face, clasps together. then you threw your arms around him, the two of you falling on the ground.
"oh senku, marry me already!"
"get off me, you dumbass, we need to get to work!"
warning/s: no pronouns (unless i slipped, sorry!), takes place after stone wars

a/n: a spur of the moment kind of write. had a completely different idea when i started this, then it suddenly turned into this short but sweet one.
when yuzuriha saw your stone statue, she knew she had to get you out of it. she first saw you when she still worked as a spy for the tsukasa kingdom, and decided to hide your statue inside the cave she's always held-up in.
you were one of the few people that were then revived after the stone wars while the revival cave still existed. it was yuzuriha who subtly did so; being the crafty woman she is. she usually wouldn't act out of turn, but for the sake of senku, she had to.
the three of them (her, senku, and taiju) had only known you for a year and a bit before the petrification beam consumed the world. even though you were part of the group for only a year and so, senku was quick to be fond of you. a type of fond that's different to her and taiju, yuzuriha noticed.
of course, senku would never outright say that you ended up being his favorite person (well, he would never say that at all. to yuzuriha, it looks like you're his favorite).
you were—are—special to senku; she can see that clearly. he seemed to be more relaxed, comfortable whenever he's around you. she, too, felt like that whenever she's with you. you were genuinely just soothing to be around, and had the kind of effect that makes people just instantly become comfortable in your presence. but she also knew that it affected senku differently than what it seemed.
and knowing senku for years, yuzuriha knew that you were essentially a god-sent for him. senku has always been tense, serious, and always somewhat busy in his life. so for you to just knock down all of his defenses and bad self-habits? she knew it drove him insane. but she could also see that softness in his eyes whenever he looked at you.
it almost felt like he was enamored.
that kind of fond.
though, whatever fond it is, yuzuriha knew that it would still do good for senku to have you by his side once more.
when senku saw you standing inside of the lab just after he killed tsukasa, he almost fell under his entire weight. there was only one or two people he could think of that had the thought of de-petrifying you. though, only one could do so subtly. did yuzuriha de-petrify you? what was he saying? of course she did, he scoffs.
"...when did you wake up?" he asked with a slight whisper. his hand trailed on the glass table as he now stood behind you, facing your back.
if you were surprised by his sudden appearance, you didn't flinch nor show it. you just simply let out a hum at his question. "just the other day," you answered with a light tone. a tone that he hasn't heard in millennia.
"how much has yuzuriha caught you up on?"
"not enough." you turned your body to face him. "distract me?" you then offered with a tilt of your head and a small smirk.
senku knew you knew more than you let off, and this was your way to, more so, distract him than distract you. he smiled a small wistful one at your way of comforting him. "well, it's been exactly three thousand seven hundred and twenty years since the world gone to stone..."
heh, it's been awhile since he had to explain things.
by the end of senku's catch up-turned-ramble, the two of you were huddled up on the floor of the lab, sharing a blanket as the sun sets with empty cups of tea left on the glass table (given by yuzuriha). the crepuscular sunset rays passing through the veiled door of the lab casting a soft orange hue in the room.
"why didn't you come find me when you woke up?" he asked in the same whisper as a while ago. his head leaning against the wall behind as his eyes glanced to yours.
you turned your body and head so that it faces him. "well, i could've... but you looked so busy," you honestly tell him.
he chuckled then stated, "well, we did just win a war."
you also let out a light chuckle. "...how are you holding up?" you then asked as your right hand rubbed your left wrist. "how did it feel killing a human person?"
senku was used to your habit of touching your left wrist, but he wasn't used to the empty space it held. you didn't show it, but he knew it bothered you as well. and the words you spoke to him... he knew your blunt, biting words all too well whenever things took a serious turn. it was your way of addressing things. it might look insensitive to others, but to him, he always appreciated the act of getting to the point.
he scoffed. "everyone else called it freezing him," he mentioned.
"freezing, killing—senku i know you well enough to know that in your head you called it killing."
he lets out a huff. you were right. "why do you always seem to get a read on me? not even gen could read me that quick and accurately," he says, half-complaining and half-impressed.
you laughed at his words also knowing that he was trying to subtly change the subject as such, you choose not to reply. "senku, it's not killing if he's still alive; you essentially just put him into a coma. that petrification device you need? it'll be in your hands quicker than you think."
he hummed. not opting to say more.
you let your words seep into him as you, too, stayed silent.
the two of you just basked in each other's presence, covered in an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. senku felt a lot better with you finally here, out of stone. you also felt a lot better being out of the darkness that consumed you for millennia, and being with senku once again.
"you know..." you gained his attention. "i was fully awake all that time in the dark; and all i could think about was how this was all karma. that the earth sought out revenge by turning all humans into its own material: stone. it was funny," you then bluntly ended.
senku looked a bit taken aback before letting out a laugh. "took you a while to make an insane comment like that," he says with a smile.
you gave a carefree laugh at his comment. "well, i'm feeling more like myself now." because i'm here with you was left unsaid, but senku knew what was left unsaid. after all, he feels the same way.
with the lab shrouded in moonlight, senku had then fallen asleep on your shoulder while clutching your hand underneath the shared blanket after a few more moments of conversation.
you were glad.
senku got to finally relax after how stressful the past few days had been. you only hoped too see more of this relaxed state of him from time to time.
with a soft smile on your face, you had lulled to sleep with your head leaning against his.
Can I request a senku x reader where he overhears the reader, his crush that he thinks wouldn't be interested in him, talking about her feelings for him (her fluffy cute feelings and also her thirst)

masterlist
a/n: i had this ready a week ago, but then i got bombarded with assignments and completely forgotten about it. this is the only completed work i've done so far and i might not have any for next week since project week will be starting soon, so don't expect anything, i'm sorry. hopefully you'll enjoy this one though!
you are part of the drama club, a popular member at that; being talented at acting, and is pretty damn gorgeous also.
senku is the president of the science club, a popular person also; for being a hot nerd.
many thought that you two would never become friends because you two are so different, but you, and senku grew up together making the two of you pretty close. then they started speculating that either you two are dating, one has feelings for the other, or the two of you are hiding said feelings
but both of you denied such rumors.
senku decided to take a break by visiting you at the auditorium. the school is having a play soon, and you're working hard. you told him that the club would be having a dress rehearsal meaning yuzuriha will be there also; she is the president of the crafts club. a little visit wouldn't hurt, right?
as he walked inside the auditorium, he looked around, but didn't see you. "ah! ishigami-san," someone called for him, "if you're looking for y/n-sama, she's at backstage with ogawa-san." he nodded towards the person, and walked off.
just as he was about to call for you, he overheard something.
"come on y/n-chan, just admit your feelings for senku-chan."
'what?' senku peeked through the curtain to see gen, and kohaku standing in front of you with yuzuriha checking your costume.
you groaned, "i swear you've been asking me everyday, and for the ten billionth time; i do not hold feelings for senku."
senku grimaced at the straightforward answer.
gen looked at you with a "really now?" look to which you looked away from. even kohaku, and yuzuriha made eye contact with each other, and shook their heads.
"i think you should just confess." yuzuriha says making you violently shake your head which caused her to almost poke you with a needle. "wait! don't move!"
you stopped moving, "oh sorry," you muttered. "there is nothing to confess!" then you exclaimed.
"nuh-uh, spill the tea sis." kohaku suddenly says with a straight face as both her hands flopped down.
you, gen, and yuzuriha turned to her with a cringed face. "when the hell did you learn that?" you asked with exasperation.
she shrugs, "i overheard the three sisters saying it."
"please don't ever say that again, kohaku."
"i regret saying it."
gen shook his hands, "anyways, just admit the feelings you have, y/n."
"i don't want to. i'll never admit them."
he rose a brow at that, "and why is that?"
"because these feelings are illogical," you let out in a pained voice, "the amount of times he ranted to me about the multiple love confessions he get per week: 'romance is illogical', 'relationships are a waste of time', and then more i can't think of! i also get those love confessions, but i haven't told senku about any of them. i feel bad for those people to confess their feelings only to end up heartbroken. it makes me think that what if that happens to me? i'm afraid of what will happen to us if he finds out how..." you smiled as you placed a hand over your chest, "my heart have always belonged to him."
senku had to process what he just heard from you. is this the rehearsal? he thought the play is an action one which is why kohaku is there; to teach fighting techniques.
"what do you even see in senku?" kohaku asks with a deadpanned look.
you put your hands on top of your cheeks with a lovesick expression, "he's such a tsundere!~"
'oh no...'
"he acts like he doesn't care about you, but he deeply does. he makes you feel appreciated, and wanted. that stupid hair of his is the only thing he can pull off, and those cocky smirks of his! ah~ he's so smart too, and every time he nerds out on anything science, it's just so cute! then if there's something i don't know, he doesn't belittle me about it, but teaches me instead. don't even get me started on the experiments! his hands, and arms make me so distracted that i don't even know what to do anymore. oh my gosh! that one time when he rolled up his lab coat sleeves—i can't ahsbdshjdfsm." then you started type spamming in real life.
gen held in a laugh, "wow, you're down bad." then he smirks, "and kinky. bet you do it thinking of him, huh?"
you gasped, "offended!" you exclaimed as you placed a hand on your chest. "doing that while thinking of someone feels like i'm violating them, so no thanks."
a bead of sweat rolled down senku's forehead, 'alright, let's stop this before things get out of hand, and i hear something far too much.' but before he could do something...
"okay!" yuzuriha exclaimed, a bit red in the face. "please don't talk about those things, just what else do you like about senku, y/n?" she says stirring back the conversation to about senku.
"oh sorry," you sheepishly muttered, "he works so damn hard on his dream. ever since he was little, he already knew what he wanted to do. to become a scientist, and get on the moon. it's just so motivational to see how hard he works on anything science, to learn each thing properly. i swear if the world turns to stone, he'd be the savior of it." you let out a slight chuckle from your joke, "but seriously though, seeing him work so hard makes me want to work hard too. he really does bring the best out of me."
"y/n!"
the three of you turned to senku who is casually walking into the backstage.
"senku!"
you shouted in panic which almost caused you to slip.
"speak of the devil." kohaku says with a sly smile.
"how coincidental~" gen smiles deviously, almost like he knew that the scientist have been eavesdropping.
yuzuriha stood up, "alright, your dress is okay!" then she looped her arms around gen's and kohaku's arm, "we'll get going now! gen needs to prepare, kohaku needs to teach the action team, and i still need to check on the others. bye!" then dashed off.
you, and senku waved off to the retreating trio. he turned to you expecting you to be at least a bit red, but your face held nothing but a neutral expression. as expected, you aren't the ace of the drama club for nothing, but he's pretty sure that you're internally panicking right now.
'DID HE HEAR EVERYTHING? I'M SO EMBARRASSED! I WANNA DIE!'
you cleared your throat, "i didn't expect to see you senku, what's up?"
"am i not allowed to visit you?" he asked with a smirk making you swallow. then he trailed down your dress, "are you a princess for this one? thought it was action."
you smoothen down your dress as you looked at it, "oh yes, and it is. i'm not the lead this time, just a princess." then something unexpected happened.
senku bowed his head, and took you hand while doing so. then he softly place his lip on top of your hand.
your ear turned red, "w-what?"
then he raised his head a bit to make eye contact with you, "i have to greet you properly, right princess?" he says with a sly smirk on his face.
your entire face then turned red.
"what's gotten in you?" you asked as you tried to calm your beating heart. "why are you being so... flirty?"
senku straightened up, but is still holding you hand. "i'm afraid to say this, but my heart too belongs to you."
. . .
he noticed you said nothing, and just continued to stare at him. "y/n?" but before he could ask, you brought your face to him practically smashing your lips onto his. you wrapped your arms around his neck as he held your waist in his.
you pulled away shortly after, "i love you, but don't ever do stuff like that again."
senku lets out sigh with slightly red ears, "i- yeah, thank you."
I heavily associate this song with dr stone, kid Travis is so underrated. Enjoy ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
★彡Atomic Ever After ★彡
It was late at night, and both 15-year-olds sat on the floor—leaning against each other. Senku read over whatever he was working on at the moment, while Nine softly sang her favorite song.
•If I leave, if I disappear
I’ll be with you
‘Cause the end is near•
She smiled, glancing at Senku.
“This song reminds me of us, y’know,” she said, pausing it and handing him the other side of her headphones.
“Heh, seems a bit dramatic, don’t you think?” Senku replied, setting the book down.
He needed a break anyway, he figured. Nine pressed play again and sighed softly.
•I swear that NASA couldn’t hold us
Girl, you’re so atomic, you turn me into dust
You might infect me, ‘cause you’re contagious.
No need to panic, there’s nowhere to run•
She rested her chin on Senku’s shoulder, completely mesmerized by him. She felt grateful to know him—to be close to him like this, so casually.
Senku felt the same. He was glad she was there. At least he didn’t have to face everything alone.
He turned to look at her, taking all of her in—her nose, her eyes, her short hair.
He sighed inwardly.
I feel like some lovesick moron, he thought.
•You send me to the moon and stars
You got me off the ground
I blame it all on gravity
‘Cause you got me upside down•
They locked eyes. Neither of them looked away, not once.
But the intensity made Nine smile and laugh slightly—making Senku smile, too.
“You’re staring,” she whispered.
Senku leaned his head back against the wall, eyes still on her.
“Can’t help it. You’re literally singing science metaphors to me. You’re like… a walking serotonin anomaly.”
Nine snorted, covering her mouth.
“That’s the dumbest way you’ve ever said I look cute.”
•Bombs away, bombs away
I’m infected, need a hazmat
Girl, you know, I’m addicted to your laughter
Mushroom clouds and foreign gas mask
You could be my atomic ever after… ever•
Nine scooted closer, eyes flickering between his and his lips. Senku mirrored her, leaning in until their noses touched—closing the distance.
It was so innocent and sweet. Nine felt calm—it just felt right. She was glad it was him she shared this moment with.
As they pulled away, she noticed her cheeks felt warm.
She was blushing.
“Made you blush, huh?” Senku smirked.
She rolled her eyes. “Ha, as if you can talk.” She tugged gently on his ear, revealing the red tips.

3723 years later…
Both of them were now 18.
After a full year of work—thanks to everyone’s help—they finally finished the Perseus. Nine wandered the ship, checking over everything, quietly humming the tune of her favorite song.
She found Senku on the deck, leaning against the railing, his eyes on the moonlit village below.
“Still your favorite song after all these years?” she asked, stepping up beside him.
He didn’t look at her, but she could see the answer in the way his mouth curved slightly.
She gave him a look that said you know why.
He huffed a quiet laugh through his nose.
“Of course.”
There was a pause. The wind shifted gently, rustling the trees. The Perseus creaked under their feet.
“You know,” she said, voice soft, “in a weird way… that song sort of came true.”
Senku finally turned toward her, brow raised. “You mean the part about contamination and mushroom clouds?”
She rolled her eyes, nudging him with her shoulder.
“I meant the ever after part, dumbass.”
He chuckled—quiet, genuine, more to himself this time.
“Yeah,” he said. “It did.”
Nine leaned in a little, like it was second nature now.
Senku met her halfway—just a soft kiss, unspoken and easy, like finishing a sentence they’d been writing for years.
They stood there for a while longer, neither of them needing to fill the quiet.
And somewhere in the back of her mind, the chorus played again—
Synopsis: Nine forces Senku to rest when he’s sick, proving that even the Kingdom of Science pauses for her.
★彡𝙸𝚗 𝚂𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚂𝚌𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎★彡
Senku moved a lot slower today. Nine, who had been up before the sun, didn’t really get the chance to notice until midday. She walked over to him, where he was going over blueprints for the Kingdom of Science.
“Hey, Senku, what ar—”
Nine was cut off by the look of death on Senku’s face. She reached out and pressed a hand to his forehead.
“What the fuck. Senku, you’re as hot as the sun.”
He sneezed and let out a weak chuckle. “Heh. Now’s not the time for compliments.”
She rolled her eyes. “Who let him work like this?” she muttered to herself. Then louder, “Is this important, or just a side quest?”
“Nothing in the Kingdom of Science is a side ques—”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, not that important.” She grabbed his hand. “Then you’re resting until you’re better. Come on.”
Everyone watched in disbelief as Nine—Nine—got Senku, of all people, to stop working. Everyone knew the two of them were inseparable, but no one really knew the status of their relationship. Friends? Lovers? Something in between?
Whatever it was, Gen jumped at the opportunity to find out, especially since the group had a rare free day.
He strolled over to Yuzuriha and let out a dramatic sigh. “Thought it’d never end. I don’t know who I was more worried for—him or us.”
Yuzuriha chuckled.
“Crazy how quick he listened to reason from her. We’ve been trying all morning,” Gen said, fishing for a reaction.
“Heheh, well, I can’t say I’m surprised. Nine can be very persuasive,” she said, smiling knowingly, leaving Gen disappointed.
But then he remembered something—Taiju. Sweet, honest, way-too-easy-to-crack Taiju.
“I bet you’re glad to get a break, huh, Taiju?”
Taiju grinned. “Hehe, well yeah, of course!”
Gen leaned in with a smirk. “Crazy how being sick didn’t stop him from science… but Nine did?”
Taiju laughed. “Nine’s always done that—looking after him when he’s deep in research. I think since we were kids.”
So they’re childhood friends, Gen thought, smirking.
“Hmm, wow. Didn’t think that was possible. Thought his love for science would overpower everything,” he baited.
“Mm—not his love for her, tho—AH! FORGET I SAID ANYTHING!”
Taiju panicked and walked away.

Flashback
Both are 8 years old
Nine stomped her way up the path to Senku’s house, face scrunched in a mix of cold and frustration. Her boots hit the ground hard enough to scare birds off the fence. In her hands: a crumpled paper bag of fever meds and a bottle of water she’d half-stolen from her dad’s supply.
She didn’t knock. Too mad to knock.
She shoved the door open.
There he was—on the floor, blanket slipping off one shoulder, cheeks flushed red, still scribbling math on a scrap of paper like he wasn’t on the verge of passing out.
“You’ve got to be shitting me,” she said flatly.
Senku glanced up. “Nine? You didn’t have to come—”
“Shut up.” She dropped the bag next to him. “You’ve been sick for three days and you’re still doing rocket math like your brain isn’t melting.”
“I can still function at about sixty percent,” he said like that somehow made sense.
“You’re functioning at zero. Negative zero.”
“That’s not a real number.”
She just stared at him. No sass. No joke. Just silence.
That’s when Senku realized—this was different.
“Take the meds, drink the water, and go to bed,” she said. “Or don’t. I don’t care anymore.”
“Wait, Nine—”
“I said I don’t care. You never listen. So why should I waste my breath?”
She turned and walked out, slamming the door.
⸻
Later That Night
Senku sat in a nest of tissues and notes, blanket pulled up to his chin. The bag still sat untouched.
He kept staring at the door.
It didn’t open.
Later, his dad called from work.
“Hey, got a message from Nine,” Byakuya said, chuckling. “Said you’re sick and being a stubborn dumbass.”
Senku didn’t reply.
“She even told me to check on you. You really pissed her off, huh?”
Still nothing.
Byakuya’s voice softened. “…She’s not mad, you know. She’s worried. You scared her.”
That landed heavier than Senku expected.
⸻
The Next Day
She still didn’t show up.
Senku, tired and still miserable, grabbed the old walkie-talkie they used as kids and hit the button.
“…Nine?”
Static.
“…Okay. You were right. I should’ve listened. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
