Honey Swamp has been elusive to me because while she has amazing curls, finding a doll that didn't have glue head discolouration or damaged/cut hair. I actually bought a few Honey Swamp dolls but the damage done from the glue head or hair was a lot for me to deal with.

I finally found a Honey Swamp doll that only had slight glue seepage and barely any yellowing around her face, so I deglued her by soaking her in Cif cream cleanser and water for several days to dry out the glue, and gently washed her hair, being careful not to damage her hair any further.

For her curls, I soaked it in conditioner and spent several hours genmtly detangling the curls with my fingers, using sections to define the curls a bit more.

I decided to copy her hairstyle from the Frights Camera Action movie which had two sections of hair pulled forward to frame her face and hide thje slight halo of yellowing in her hairline.

I'm really happy how this restoration turned out since I do really love Honey Swamp's design, but tracking down a loose one has been an effort.

One of the things I genuinely miss about Monster High is the fact you'd get a group of 4 or so new characters every so often, and the spread of different aesthetics and personalities always felt so exciting. It's part of the reason why I don't feel so hyped with collector G1, because I collect MH for its expansive set of brand new concepts and looks instead of getting more than one of each and every character.

Getting Honey Swamp has finally made me so happy to round out my Frights Camera Action doll group since I really like how they do feel like a last hurrah of Signature doll looks from Mattel that added new characters. I do feel like afterwards, unless there was a very specific or theme heavy line, we wouldn't see any new signature look dolls...
