50% of the show was built on abe and joan trying to confess and be a couple and i cant stress enough how much i love that the fandom does not care in the fucking slightest. everyone ignores just it, none of the attempted """moments""" are talked about because no one likes them. its the main conflict, and we KNOW how its about to end, and everyone just refuses, its beautiful They tried to make it a big dramatic moment that topher loves joan and is actively black mailing (sorry, "white leveraging") abe to not confess. and the ENTIRE fandom turned around and said "no we like abe x topher more", so hard, that the moment was immediately headcanoned by everyone as "topher is too shy to admit his feelings to abe" its to the point where my boyfriend, who still hasnt seen season 2, ships them purely due to fandom content on tiktok

its so sureal, everyone KNOWS that joan and abe will be a couple, but NO ONE WANTS IT, and will resist by any means necassary to stop the most mid ship from coming on top
