Allura in S2
I recently started re-watching Voltron Legendary Defender im by the ending of S2 and i couldn't help myself from remembering back then when the series was still ongoing, how bad part of the fandom spoke and thought about Allura. Specifically when she resented Keith for being Half Galra.
The fandom was very unfair to her through the series but this S2 and S8 are the ones i remember the fandom being really bad to her.
Anyway, I feel that her reaction was valid. She was physically and mentally frozen for 10,000 years. The last thing she remembered was the Galra empire attacking her planet to get the lions and she wakes up to find her planet and people destroyed. I don't remember if we have an official age for her. I searched but nothing came up (and i don't trust wiki as it can be edited by anyone) and i don't remember if in the books theres an age for her. But im assuming she is within 16 to 18 years old.
I think she got all that hate because Keith is one of the favorite characters in the series. Anyway she did understood later (a few episodes after they found Keith is galra) that it's not really Keith's fault and this happened after they had more contact with the Blades.
We can make a comparation between her and Coran's reaction. He is already an fully grown altean, he didn't fault Keith or anything. Yes, he and Allura have different personalities however the fact that he understandood and didn't resented Keith compered to Allura, after experiencing the same as her. (Even if they had different positions with the altean heriarchy) speaks about how immature was Allura by the time it happened. She is young girl who lost her entire planet to the people who she thought was their friend. since she was born the galra were "friends" or at least in amicable terms with the alteans.
And don't get me started on S8 with her dying. I really didn't like that ending for her, however what i liked was Klance nlr being Canon and not because i disliked it. But the fandom was really bad to the point of attacking the voice actors!! I remember Josh Keaton's (who was really active within the fandom) family received desth treats. Honestly that was mess up and i felt like not making Klance canon was a good way to not reward the fandom with that kind of behavior. (Even if it probably was not intended ti happen because we all knew Lance liked Allura since S1)
So yeah i was just thinking about it. Not really trying to make sense here. Just sharing my thoughts.
Anyway i don't accept Allura slandering in this household.
