"i cant be the only one to feel this way" and it's the most common ice cold take about rise there is lmao. (no hate, its just... one of the most common thoughts i see circulated and its one i disagree with, so...)
anyways youre entitled to your opinion but i disagree -
Rise Raph is different, sure, but he still has his anger (see episodes like shell in a cell, the pizza puffs one, etc) and being a softy is nothing new to Raph across ALL iterations. I love all Raphs and rise is no exception to that <3
i see where you're coming from but saying hes not characterized "correctly" is just blatantly wrong when they're characters that exist in a canonical multiverse where people can be different across iterations. like, i understand rise leo criticism way more than raph, since they changed a lot more of his crucial personality types than they did with Raph.
even though the focus of my post was about Raph, I also think there's stark issues with Leo and Mikey also. I might be biased because Raph has been my favorite character since 2012 (when I was 12 years old myself) but I heavily disliked the weird leadership position Raph had for all of season 1. I think I would've enjoyed it better if Raph was the one who was mucking around and not doing things properly and Leo being the leader. I understand all over the sites was building up to Leo taking on his mantle of being the leader; but still.
simply put, I just don't like the way Raph (specifically) was characterized , and that's just my preference. but if I had to get into all my critiques about it, all the characters needed more room to grow , so I agree, that the fact that the series got canceled was a net negative.
Mikey was a lot like traditional Mikey, I would've loved to see how things effected him more into becoming the peepaw we see in the movie, and as for Donnie, lads still as annoying as ever ;; this time his the tech he makes makes up for it.
