Today was supposed to be an average day with her exploring the oceans as per usual, and hopefully find some pretty shells, coral pieces, or rocks to use as decoration. She loved to make jewelry pieces out of what she found on her adventures- and this time, she found herself in quite the predicament.

She saw a pretty shell and before she knew it, she got caught in a net with other fish. No matter how she tugged on the net, it wouldn't budge. Her nails and teeth weren't making much progress through the net either...

The mermaid couldn't understand what any of the humans were saying, but she did know that she was captured in a net by the humans. From what she knew, humans would catch fish in these nets and eat them... she certainly wouldn't be tasty! Probably!

She watched as some of the humans had scattered, and soon another human- probably their leader had come to witness their catch of the day. There was no way of hiding her nature, her tail was too big and the fins on her body made it all too obvious that she was not like them. The new human seemed to be trying to talk to her, but she couldn't understand.

Mimicking an action of biting her arm and grimacing, she was trying to say [I'm not tasty]. Please don't eat her, humans! She has so much to live for!

From her reaction, the mermaid doesn't seem to understand what he was trying to tell her. She seemed to be frighten of him.

"Release the mermaid." he commanded his crew. "Captain, are you sure about this?" his vice captain Demona whispered in his ears. Stuna nodded his head. "Yes. It rare to see a mermaid, a live one at it. She seemed so scared of us that I don't want to her hurt."

Goku and the crew followed Stuna's command as they remove the net from the mermaid. Stuna walk toward the mermaid, he waved his hand to signaled to the mermaid that he won't hurt her before he pointed to the ocean to let the mermaid know that she was free to go.

All of a sudden, the boat began to rock violently taking Stuna by surprise.

"What the situation?" Stuna turn around checking with his crew.

"It a storm up ahead! Captain!" one of the crew replied.

Before Stuna could get a grasp of the situation, the incoming storm cause the boat to rock violently again. Stuna lose his footing and fall off from his ship into the ocean.

The last he could hear was his crew calling his name before he felt the cold icy water hitting against his body. He struggle to keep afloat on the water as the raging wave crash against him, pushing him further away from his ship and crew

Stuna didn't know how long he could struggle to keep afloat till his crew find and pick him up.

Haru looks over the diary and the bracelet in hand, trying to figure how the locking mechanism worked. She eventually found something that matched the imprint of the bracelet and fiddled around with it until the diary unlocked.

Given how the diary was full of the memories of the pirate... who was Tsuna's ancestor of sorts... it didn't feel right for her to look inside of the diary, so she hands him back the diary after she unlocked it.

"It is curious how it required the bracelet to be opened." It meant that if something ever happened to the mermaid- the pirate would never have been able to open the diary again. It made her wonder if he ever regretted making the lock that way, considering Haru knew that the end of the mermaid wasn't exactly a happy one. 'Mn? Then how did the bracelet end up in the shop if it belonged to the mermaid?'

The answer was probably to be found in the diary, considering that the damage to the bracelet was caused during the incident that separated the pirate and the mermaid forever.

Tsuna took over the diary from Haru after it was unlock. He began looking through the diary content, reading it aloud.

On xxxx. This was the first time I met her....

"Captain Stuna! come to the deck! We caught something exceptional in the net. You might want to come and take a look!" Upon hearing the word of his crew, Stuna was puzzled what could his crew have caught aside from fishes in the ocean.

He put down the pen that he was using to write a letter as he made his way out onto the deck.

Stuna stood surprised by what he saw in the net. There lies a beautiful lady with a fin. A mermaid!? He had heard of stories and legend of them. He had never believe in them until today where he saw one with his own eyes.

"Can you understand what I am saying?" he ask the mermaid wondering if she could understand what she say.

“Tsuna-san~ Happy birthday!” Haru trotted to Tsuna’s side, stopping with a small hop! After learning about some of their past lives, Haru thought about what would be an interesting gift, and she thought about the very first past lives that they came across. The Knight and the Princess, and how Tsuna got some of his memories from accidentally touching the handkerchief there. Haru could only vaguely remember what it looked like, and the handkerchief itself was pretty faded over time, but she did her best to recreate it. “Haru thought it would be comforting to have something similar, Haru added a small fish in the corner though,” because even if they knew about some of their past lives, this one was their own. A unique life that still deserved celebration!

This was the first time someone else aside from his mother who celebrated his birthday and it was a girl special to him. It made the brunette really happy

Tsuna took over the handkerchief with the fish sew in the corner. It was adorable. Haru must have spend quite some effort on it. "Thank you Haru. I would treasure it forever." a red tint colored Tsuna's cheek.

"How thoughtful. Always thinking of others." Not always but the brunet's brain signaled it a lot every time the mist user checked. "How about this, since you are becoming so fond of us, eat over."

The invitation came as a surprise for the brunette. He was afraid if Mukuro had not give up on his body and this was only a chance to do so. However, part of him felt that it was a sincere invitation. "Thanks for the invitation Mukuro. I have already eaten. You all can have the share."

"Oya? Just passing by in my domain? That is some guts for you." Could have let him pass quietly as well. Where was the fun in that?

Tsuna gulped. "I came to pass some food to Chrome. I had ask my mum to make enough for all of you." he had initially hope that Mukuro wouldn't see him. Guess that plan failed

"Where are you going?"

Tsuna froze when he heard Mukuro's voice. He had wanted to leave quietly. There goes his plan. "Ah... I am just passing by don't mind me Mukuro." he rubbed the back of his head nervously

Haru studied Tsuna's reactions curiously, wondering what kind of memories he'd see, but it seemed like he didn't see anything? She quietly looks over at the shopkeep who only smiles in response, knowingly. The shopkeep wasn't surprised by this reaction at all, considering Tsuna had reacted similarly before in other lives.

This life, one of many, wasn't the first time Tsuna had tried to protect Haru in one way or another, so the reaction didn't come off as a surprise. That reaction was quite telling for Haru though, but given his reaction, she opted to not question him about it-this time.

Whatever it was that he saw, it must not have been something he could easily want to admit. "Right, we came here for a journal. Is it the item Tsuna-san had in a past life?" Haru reminded the shopkeep, who nodded his head and rummaged around to find it.

"Would you like to see it? It does require the bracelet if you wish to unlock it to read the contents." Of course, Tsuna wouldn't need to read the contents to receive memories, but sometimes, it was nice to be able to read through memories. Haru was curious about what memories Tsuna would get, because the broken memories she received-- were concerning. From what she gathered, the mermaid was betrayed and sold off. There had to be a misunderstanding?

Tsuna glance at the diary that the shop keeper had bought up. This was something that once belong to his past life. Tsuna was curious of the content in the diary though he could probably see images of his past life. The memories were incomplete, perhaps the diary could give him more answer.

Tsuna nodded as he glanced towards Haru. "Let unlock the diary and read the content." he brace himself whatever he might learn from reading the diary.

He took a deep breathe waiting for Haru to unlock the diary with the bracelet.

"Hm... I think I'll try this one." Calcifer plucked up the one he'd been eying, the one with shrimp laying across the rice.

First he held it to his nose to smell, and then he shoved the entire thing in his mouth.

"Mmh! Mm mmm!!"

Someone's enjoying the sushi!

Tsuna beamed as he saw Calcifer enjoying the sushi.

"I'll ask my mum to prepare more next time." afterall food are most delicious when enjoy with a friend. "Try this too." Tsuna offered the tuna sushi. "This one is delicious as well and one of my favorite."

"Yes, you were a vampire in one of your past lives." The shop keep smiles, revealing a pair of sharp canines in their mouth, "I am a vampire, one who was changed by your grace."

That would explain why the shopkeep seemed friendly with Tsuna, because he was the reincarnation of the vampire's master.

At the next question, the shopkeep gives a meaningful glance over at Haru. "An unfortunate circumstance resulted in my master being captured by the church and perishing. His partner found death not long afterwards as well, but I'm not knowledgeable on how she actually died, I apologize."

It would be hard for a vampire to get much information out of the church, their enemy. There was no way for them to know how the human woman died, and perhaps they'd never know.

If that were the case, then there was no way of knowing what the item the woman had that held her memories was. Haru felt a bit at a loss, but then remembered the vampire before them. They surely had to be alive for a really long time, right? "As his faithful suborindate, does that mean you possess the item full of the vampire's memories?"

"I do, it was a ring he cherished greatly. I can provide it now if you're ready for it..." The shopkeep says, looking at Tsuna, trying to study his reactions.

Tsuna listen as the vampire talk about his master. He must have been so loyal to his past self as a vampire.

Tsuna glance at the ring that was held out by the vampire. Perhaps, the memories of his past held some key to what had been going on. He glanced at the vampire with a determined expression as he nodded his head as he reach his hand out to take the ring.

Tsuna saw an image of a vampire sitting in a chair as he glanced at the ring in his hand which was a family heirloom. "I couldn't tell her the truth. It better this way for her to hate me. If she knew about this curse. It will kill her..."

Tsuna was brought back to reality to see the shop keeper in front of him.

"Ah... I didn't see anything this time." he lied as he rubbed the back of his head wondering what are those memories that he saw.

Tsuna knew that was no point explaining, his innocence was ruin no one would believe he doesn't have any of those. Well maybe game magazine he wouldn't want his mum seeing.

Haru is a energetic, kind and earnest girl who always tries her best in whatever she doe. Seeing that side of her always motivates me to try my best.

That energetic side of her always filled me up with energy as well.

Calcifer is someone who doesn't act and say what they feel within. I know he just a playful person who doesn't have any malicious intention.

I always enjoy spending time with him and consider him my friend. Perhaps we can spend more time hanging out together at the place.

Chuckles. It was good to see everyone again. Just no different, like they were as close as ever. "Hey, Tsuna. Thanks for that. It's just a sigh of relief. Just a laugh. Is everything going alright over here?" Even if he was boss still patted his shoulder.

"You know Gokudera-kun and Oni-san, still the usual bickering. It was so noisy and chaotic when you are not around to stop their bickering. Lambo and everyone the same as always." Tsuna chuckled.

"Gokudera-kun out on a mission right now. Perhaps when he back we can hang out like back in the days. Perhaps a drink or two?"
