A round up of random mostly dumb Bridgerton headcanons that were jotted down in my drafts but never posted:

Anthony had to give the Talk to both Colin and Gregory. Unlike Violet with the girls he was very clinical about it not a metaphor in sight. It traumatized both of them. Benedict is glad to have not been involved with any part of that.

Francesca is the favorite sibling. But you already knew that. She is also however most of the Bridgerton childrens’ favorite aunt. As Aunt Fran would bring fun Scottish gifts and sweets especially when Francesca was struggling with having a baby she indulged her neices and nephews a little extra

While Anthony did the rest of the father of the bride duties at Hyacinth’s wedding-Gregory wanted to give Hyacinth away. They both cried a little before the wedding march started. There was mutual understanding to never talk about this again

Philip thought the worst of the interrogation was over when the Bridgerton brothers finally stopped looking like they were gonna break his legs. Then he met the Duchess of Hastings. Daphne with her sweet pretty face and a baby over her shoulder left the man pale and terrified as she threatened physical and emotional pain and societal ruin if any suffering came to her younger sister

When Kate’s brothers-in-law were trying to avoid the society mothers and their daughters as well as their own mother they would ask to dance with her as it was gentlemanly to dance with your sister-in-law, she obliged in exchange for baby Anthony stories she could hold over her husband. When Colin had no more stories to trade he offered her his stolen key to Anthony’s office

Penelope likes to take just as many opportunities to call Colin her husband as he likes to call her his wife. The Bridgerton family just endearingly roll their eyes. “We get it you’re married and sickingly in love. Colin now will you please stop staring at your wife and hit the ball!!”

Philip knows every Bridgerton secret. Not by will, people are just constantly telling him stuff. (Eloise says it’s because of his face when she realizes he had even found out about baby Sterling before she did) He would actually like them to stop. They won’t.

Michael has left every Bridgerton woman a tiny bit flustered at least once. Yes even Violet-he offered to bring her tea and winked when she noted he got her tea order right. Violet giggled ackwardly and Benedict groaned “not you too mother”

Simon sent a bottle of his best and oldest alcohol to Anthony when Amelia’s first season started. He finally got it.

Hyacinth had to be talked down no less than 37 times by Gareth to not slip a frog in Lucy’s chair the first time they visited.

Sophie and Eloise are very close. A little too close for Benedict’s comfort and he suddenly feels bad about all the times he told Kate stories about Anthony.

Modern Bridgerton Headcanons

Benedict

Dresses very simply— for work, usually a collared shirt and a pair of slacks; outside of work, a t-shirt or collared shirt and jeans; sometimes adds a sweater or sweatshirt depending on the weather

Took a while to figure out exactly what he wanted to do with his life

Does not have a serious relationship until Sophie and he’s head over heels for her within a day of officially meeting her

Had a friends with benefits type thing (definitely had no interest in an actual relationship with each other) with Geneive Delacroix during grad school when he was getting his master’s in art education and she was studying fashion

Benedict somehow managed to keep the art part of his degree a secret until he finally got his master’s degree.

The family definitely had no idea about his art or how talented he is at it for a long time. He had a lot of anxiety related to showing people his art and for the longest time, he felt nauseous and/or threw up at the thought.

Ironically, he doesn’t have the same issue with photography and often ends up the designated photographer at family events if a professional wasn’t hired.

Got into an argument with a 13-year-old Eloise about his career choice when he started applying to graduate schools

The quietest Bridgerton brother— enjoys a good party or celebration, but prefers doing things with people that actually know his name (Benedict, or even Ben works) and are interested in more than the Bridgerton name

Sophie

Dresses very simply, in whatever is cheapest, but when she gets into the relationship with Benedict, her style stays simple but her clothes are nicer

Her father was a wealthy CEO and her mother was an executive assistant. Her mother died in childbirth and then three years later, her grandmother passed away after leaving her with her father. (He had a DNA test done and then never acknowledged the fact that she was, in fact, his daughter.)

Her father died when she was 14 and Araminta began to dictate her life with an iron grip.

She had her first kiss at seventeen because Rosamund paid a boy to surprise kiss her. She doesn’t kiss anyone else until Benedict.

Her single most prized possession is the stuffed dog that she’s had for as long as she can remember.

She’s about three years younger than Benedict.

Sophie read every single book assigned for English class, and that included reading the books that Rosamund, a year older, was assigned too.

She did most of Rosamund’s school work actually. Posy would sometimes help, when Araminta and Rosamund were out and she was surprisingly good at history.

Loves to read and would often tuck a book (usually from the library) into her bag for break times

In those two years between first meeting Benedict and officially meeting him, she had no less than two jobs at any given time. They included everything from a secretary to a waitress to a bartender to working in retail.

So I was rewatching episode 8 of Bridgerton (as one does), and for the first time I noticed that CVD is credited as the writer.

And I’m no longer surprised by the fact that episode 8 is filled to the brim with clever references to future characters and romances.

Starting from Kathony (ft. Anthony being delusional):

And as we know, there are tons of Philoise foreshadowing throughout the entire episode. Starting from Phillip receiving the most book accurate introduction ever, with an abundance of flowers (I’m patiently waiting for a parallel shot of Eloise arriving at Romney Hall and looking up at Phillip’s ancestral home in a few seasons):

and continuing with Eloise and Phillip wearing the same exact color scheme and basically dancing around each other for the entire episode:

I NEED a book series about the next generation Bridgertons growing up , like imagine:

• Anthony, Benedict and Colin literally losing their minds over finding their daughters the perfect match, if you thought they was protective over their sisters imagine how they would be over their daughters/nieces

• Uncle Benedict and Auntie Sophie being the favourite family members to stay with - you get very spoiled

•Every niece wants a husband that looks at them the way Uncle Colin looks at Aunt Penelope

• Aunt Eloise is always at your service when you want to prank your parents/siblings/cousins

•As the nephews got older they liked to go to Uncle Michael for womanly advice

•Uncle Anthony is the first person to go to when is trouble, that man can fix anything

•Aunt Daphne and Uncle Simon throw the best parties every year, it’s the favourtie social event of the season

•You never mess with Aunt Hyacinth, she can freeze you with a glare

•Aunt Francesca is the best at giving advice, she always keeps a level head and always keeps your secrets

•The entire family gathers together at Aubrey Hall for Christmas and a few summer games of Pall Mall. Everyone is scared of Aunt Kate during the game- she’s very competitive (especially if Uncle Anthony is playing)

•Uncle Colin likes to turn up just before it’s bedtime, get the children excited with sweets, create noise, a huge mess and then leaves with a mischevious grin at his siblings

• Grandma Violet spends an equal amount of time at the homes of each child and their family- she’s never ever lonely

•The children love it when Aunt Francesca and Uncle Michael visit- they always bring Scottish sweeties and biscuits

• Although Uncle Philip is quiet- he knows everything that’s going on in the family, he’s a good listener

• There’s a competition between Uncle Gregory and Uncle Gareth of who can think of the naughtiest joke (But Aunt Eloise eventually won)

•Aunt Kate’s dog Newton is treated with supreme respect- he’s the goodest of good boys after all

•Uncle Colin will only share his biscuits if you can successfully tackle them from him

• One of the nieces found a box full of Lady Whistledowns, sharing them with her cousins they loved listening to their families love stories- none of them could quite believe it when they discovered Whistledown was Aunt Penelope!!

•Although Oliver and Amanda aren’t blood related- none of the cousins ever treat them with anything less then love and affection

• The nephews (and some nieces) were taught how to shoot by Aunt Eloise, something the Bridgerton brothers refuse to discuss

• Uncle Simon will always help his nephews make up an excuse to leave a party - he remembers how scary those mamas on the prowl for a son in law can be

• It’s every man for himself when trying to choose a Pall Mall mallet- everyone’s after the Mallet of Death

•It’s not considered a successful family game of charades if there hasn’t been a massive argument, followed by someone storming out the room

• Aunt Daphne is always overly affectionate, but all the cousins secretly love the attention she gives

•You can turn up to any of your Auntie/Uncles house with no notice at any time of the day or night and always be welcome to stay for however long you want

• Uncle Benedict burst out crying when he sees one of his nieces sketches of him with ‘the best uncle’ scribbled at the top. He tells anyone who will listen that she will have work in the National Gallery

• Nothing better then Christmas at Aubrey Hall, it’s a very noisy dinner but the entire family gather outside for a snow ball fight

•It’s not uncommon to catch a tear in Grandma Violets eye, she will alway say nothing is wrong but really she is wishing Edmund was there to see how happy her children and grandchildren are
