Esta mexicana de 28 años ha sido reconocida por incorporar el idioma hablado por 1,6 millones de personas al traductor del buscador

Gabriela Salas es una científica mexicana de 28 años, originaria de Puerto del Caballo, Hidalgo, un pequeño pueblo de 20 habitantes. Su historia no solo es un ejemplo de dedicación y esfuerzo, también es la muestra de la importancia del derecho a la educación para las mujeres y su necesidad de formarse en carreras científicas. “Es importante que las niñas estudien para que sigan aprendiendo, sigan luchando y sean más libres”, comenta desde Madrid, donde ahora está estudiando una maestría en Ciencia de Datos por la Universidad Politécnica. Hace dos años, Salas fue reconocida a nivel nacional por incorporar el idioma náhuatl, hablado por 1,6 millones de personas en México, al traductor de Google.

La joven científica reivindica la importancia de incluir las lenguas indígenas dentro de las herramientas digitales, un hito que puede cambiar el futuro de las culturas originarias, condenadas a desaparecer a medida que mueren sus hablantes. En su pueblo, por ejemplo, ya solo quedan dos hablantes de náhuatl. Ella y su madre. “Con esta tecnología podemos rescatar nuestra historia”, responde. “Hay un montón de compendios, poemas y recetas de medicina ancestral que existen en otras lenguas y que no conocemos”, agrega. Esas recetas son las que aprendió de sus abuelas y su madre, heredadas de generación en generación de manera oral.

Good news! I have the solution.

PORTALS CAN’T MOVE.

If you place a portal on a surface, and then that surface moves, the portal immediately closes. A good example of this is one of the last test chambers in the first game. There is a surface that, upon a button press, is tilted upwards at an angle. If you place a portal there and THEN hit the button, the portal disappears.

The ONE, SINGULAR EXCEPTION to this has been in Portal 2 when you are deactivating the neurotoxin generator. But it is fair to assume in all other cases a portal would not be allowed to move.

I will grant you that it may just be the limitations of it Being a Video Game. But there is no more concrete evidence to suggest they could move in reality than there is to suggest they couldn’t.
