yelling at internet strangers that something is a "cope" in order to frantically distance yourself from the shared human experience of finding rationalisations for deeply painful things is, in fact, a cope

Bc of the sorrow
nothing makes me feel more millennial than people describing radiohead as "incel themed".... alienation music is actually for women and queers if anything
men b like wow I’ve never met a girl who liked music before..
You obviously know nothing about men if this is what you think they say
Men will see a mouse and eat it
No they won’t because why would anyone eat a mouse that’s stupid not all men are bad and not all men are stupid you may have had a bad experience with a man but not all men are bad granted there bad men but instantly accusing all men as bad is immature I’m dating a man and he is nowhere near stupid and I know for a fact that he won’t eat a mouse and in pretty sure I could name at least five other men that won’t do something as immature as that and saying that a man will see a mouse and eat it won’t get you a anywhere with a man if anything it will drive them away.
A man will see a mouse and be like is anyone else gonna eat this and not wait for an answer
fantastic noobs and where to pwn them
Finally saw dune. Brave film. They incorporated bagpipes into the soundtrack and fuck if you don't see an actual bagpiper on screen in front of sexy sexy oscar isaac. They could have pretended the bagpipes were nondiagetic but no. They were like "guess what. The majestic instrument originating from the scottish highlands exist in this universe. And hes gonna play his little song" marvel could never. If they showed a bagpiper on screen he would be laughed at. Humiliated. Dare I say, "quipped at". And then they would have made a joke about how spiderman played the bagpipes in marching band.
I just discovered a band I'd never heard of by finding two of their albums in a mysterious plastic bag in an abandoned school building. Finally, I'm at the start of a fantasy novel
To make things even weirder they're called Vampire Weekend and they appear to be some kind of weird One Direction knock off from 2008? If forced to describe their music I'd say maybe soft rock, but honestly I have no idea. They're kinda good though??
you guys CAN NOT tell me Vampire Weekend was actually popular this is so embarrassing I'm going to take the high dive off a cliff

“Do you sometimes at earliest waking observe yourself struggling towards a pronoun? Do you fleetingly, as if from a great distance, strain to recall who it is that breathes and turns? Do you ever wish to quit the daily comedy of transforming into the I-speaker without abandoning the wilderness of sensing? The sensation isn’t morbid; it is ultimately disinterested. For me it’s a familiar moment, boring and persistent and disappointing. Again one arrives at the threshold of this particular, straitening I. With a tiny wincing flourish one enters the wearisome contract, sets foot to planks. Daily the humiliation is almost forgotten, until it blooms again with the next waking.”
—Lisa Robertson, The Baudelaire Fractal
so no one talks about how the united states has twitter accounts for its embassies around the world. only a matter of time before they “20 tips on how to occupy a third world country and slay like a boss (1/21)”
when simone de beauvoir said “i’m reliving it, neutralizing it, and transforming it into an inoffensive past that i can keep in my heart without either disowning it or suffering from it. that’s not easy. it’s at once painful and poetic.”

Leslie Feinberg on trans exclusion in feminist spaces.
“We’re in danger of losing what the entire second wave of feminism, what the entire second wave of women’s liberation was built on, and that was ‘Biology is not destiny’. ‘One is not born a woman,’ Simone de Beauvoir said, ‘one becomes one’. Now there’s some place where transsexual women and other women intersect. Biological determinism has been used for centuries as a weapon against women, in order to justify a second-class and oppressed status. How on Earth, then, are you going to pick up the weapon of biological determinism and use it to liberate yourself? It’s a reactionary tool.”
From TransSisters: The Journal of Transsexual Feminism, issue 7, volume 1. 1995.
“I used to have a lot of questions about what it meant to be desirable, to be feminine, to be smart, to be successful. All of those things where women have, more so than men, a cheat sheet: “Well, this is what works for most people.” And you’re like, “Okay, but I don’t fit in this one. This didn’t work out for me.” Even just realizing I was bisexual was a huge thing for me. I was like, “Wait, I don’t have to dress any certain way to attract a certain type of person.” I just have to be the way that I’m comfortable, and you end up drawing the right soul.”
