yall infantilised the living fuck out of this idiot, harassed everyone in proximity to the show, claimed there was some organised campaign to “sideline” him, how excluding him from a graphic was racist, a journalist saying they thought connor and francois should be considered for emmys was racist.
everything is fucking racist and a hate crime against hudson but now that its been discovered that he was using racist slurs, making derogatory jokes about bottoming, walking around with a fucking SWASTIKA on his forehead and “aids” written on his neck, all of a sudden its crickets?
the man cosplays as a black woman, wears grills, uses aave and blaccent, uses a combination slur against black and chinese people on his finsta and yall have nothing to say? some of these fans knew about this since december 2025 and hid it?
come on i thought yall were social justice warriors who deeply care about racism and homophobia.
also he was over 18 years old in these pictures. a fucking adult in 2018 and onwards so spare me the excuses that the poor lamb didn’t know, he was being childish. hes just fucking racist.

once again lol this show is handling the whole santos-langdon conflict with too much nuance for anyone on the internet to know how to process it
santos doesn’t have to accept langdons apology at all but asking him to go through a humiliation ritual of gathering the whole ER and telling them what he did feels more like projection of her own feelings. he humiliated her in front of other residents while in active addiction/withdrawal? now she’s going to ask him to do the same to “atone for his sins”. like im sorry but wanting an addict to go to jail feels a bit like cop behaviour lol
also langdon isn’t in denial his apology to louie showed that hes aware he committed a crime
like everyone in the hospital already knows why langdon was gone, and im pretty sure the hospital would’ve conducted some kind of investigation into a senior resident entering an addiction program. i would assume protocol would have them checking prescription history
both robby and santos are treating langdon the same exact way. robby because he doesn’t know how to process losing his protégé and the fact that langdon actually humbled himself, got help and actually came back. and santos because shes got very clear abuse related trauma and mental health issues. they’re both reacting the same way and parts of it does feel like projection.
whitaker knows what langdon did cuz he was the one calling in the opioids for louie, garcia knows cuz of her situationship with santos and being the first person santos told after langdon was sent home, dana and samira are aware and mckay is an addict herself and offers her support to him. which imo everyone else there is reacting in a normal semi detached way except robby and santos
and santos saying langdon came back from rehab and went back to being the golden boy when thats obviously false, and her telling garcia she feels like a pariah because she “snitched” on langdon and then being told shes a pariah because of her attitude and her wanting him to humiliate himself to make it up to her, like these aren’t rational responses and she’s clearly dealing with her own shit and not to forget we know that her best friend took her own life and shes dealt with sexual abuse as a child
santos is right in that langdon should have dealt with the repercussions of stealing drugs and she’s also wrong in some ways cuz addiction is a disease and there has never been good outcomes to drug related charges. rehabilitation is the way to go not prison. robby knew that too and its why langdons in a 5 year program.
theres no right or wrong here. santos has a lot of unprocessed trauma and langdons been through the wringer and trying to find his bearings too.
rewatched the episode and santos is pissing me off lmfao girlie spent that whole procedure trying to get langdon to second guess his decisions all in front of a patient
robby making langdon second guess himself is one thing lol hes an attending but santos? my girl you dont even know enough to pull off a stunt like that especially not when you just want to put in a chest tube for the thrill of it instead of paying attention to the patient needs
both garcia and al-hashimi trying to push her in the right direction of not getting testy with langdon but she just refused to take the hint lol
i also loved seeing the difference in langdons teaching style now that hes sober compared to last season cuz even though he was right he did berate santos horribly. writers and pball have done a great job showing langdons subtle changes in personality since he got clean.
also i dont think garcia is cruel. she seems to have the same strong personality all the surgeons in the show seem to have. but with santos specifically cuz they’re hooking up, she’s got good boundaries between personal and professional.
what i have been entertained by so far is there being zero evidence that anyone in the pitt have treated santos like a snitch. shes on good terms with all the attendings, the other residents and the nurses.
if anything its mel who seems to have been left behind in some ways.
yet santos still feels like shes a pariah and imo garcia was right to call her out the way she did. she still doesn’t seem to take direction well and is visibly put off by al-hashimi agreeing with langdon. like my girl he is still a senior resident, he still does have things he can teach you and no you do not know better than him or your attendings proposed treatment plan for him.
it also does seem like a self fulfilling prophecy situation where santos is carrying a lot of guilt for what she did so shes pushed people away before they treat her like a snitch. but her attitude towards the other pittlings hasn’t changed much. im enjoying whatever this is and im going to enjoy the inevitable santos langdon scene where he has to apologise to her.
its amusing that both santos and langdon were right about each other and are 2 sides of the same coin. she was right that he was using and he was right that shes too inexperienced to be that cocky
you know the fandom is truly a lost cause when fans nitpick wording and ignore an obvious joint statement.
the intention was to address every single bit of shit the cast has dealt with and it truly isn’t a competition for who has it worse or whether they “deserve” to be upset by it or not.
hudson shouldn’t have to deal with racist hate and being called a “cross breed” or a queerbaiter the same way françois shouldn’t have to deal with a flood of comments calling him a pedophile and a groomer for allegedly dating an adult, his ex boyfriend shouldn’t be getting comments insulting the man hes on good terms with. connor shouldn’t have to deal with his sister and best friend getting comments encouraging connor to remain closeted and saying connor gets “passed around” by older men like a “toy” after getting outed by his ex.
homophobia and racism are serious issues on a societal level, they’re intersectional too along with misogyny. and acting like hudson is the only person who is allowed to feel hurt here completely negates the fact that calling queer men groomers and pedophiles is a conservative christian nationalist tactic thats been around for centuries and is being revived by the current administration. bans on drag queens, trans athletes etc. are all done based on those accusations. those same names are being hurled at françois now under the guise of concern for his age, so yes including “ageist” in that statement was necessary. every word of that statement was needed.
ultimately no one in the cast are the villains different sections of this fan base have made them out to be. and they care more about each other than any of these deranged fans claim to care about them individually. the françois that saw a racist troll in his comment section against hudson and made a statement immediately is the same man who, months ago, defended connor and hudson against jordan firstman and co pushing them to come out. hes never co-signed a racist hate train against his own friend.
hudson also is the man who genuinely cares about his friends and the harassment they’re receiving in his name and is more than willing to address it in the hopes that himself and everyone he cares about can be left alone in peace.
ksenia is a gem of a woman for addressing the covert misogyny she and other female cast members have received as is harrison brown regarding transphobic hate. like i said its a shame this cast have individually and together borne the brunt of the internets insanity and the one good thing that comes out of this is a display of the fact that they are a unit and truly adore each other.
the big issue amongst hudson/hudcon stans was françois doesn’t address the racism and when he does that, individually responding to comments telling fans to fuck off you nitpick, claim its not good enough or that you just dont care.
you cant behave like this and then act offended when people call yall kpop boymoms token stanning the asian guy, calling everyone who dislikes hudson (often because of his fans) klan members and then proving it was never actually about the racism hudson faces, which is very real. but yall acting like scorned fujos completely cheapens and downplays what he deals with

its a little amusing to see all these very young and new fans of the hughes brothers upset at seeing them laugh and gargle trumps nuts in that video mocking the womens team. and expecting them to turn down the invite to the white house too 😭
yall need to catch on that these men are very wealthy and very unprincipled lol politics is beneath them because it doesn’t affect them. they just dont care. they’re all just charmed that the PRESIDENT is talking to THEM.
dont attach yourself to displays of “woke” behaviour from them cuz yes the hughes brothers can talk about inclusion in hockey, can talk about caring about pride nights, can celebrate their mothers legacy and involvement in the womens team and then turn around feel audibly giddy about daddy trump sending them a jet to come meet him, can absolutely go shave their entire bodies to get cozy with a pedo president and his little sidekick, can casually go and celebrate with the womens team they just laughed at.
these men have no principles ‼️ austons the first latino captain to win a gold medal? his mother was also celebrating with christina marleau about voting for trump this past election. boldy can play for minnesota and still be tone deaf about the politics and ICE killings in the state and celebrate that he hung out with the director of the fbi. i saw someone upset that brock faber (?) isn’t their “woke king” anymore LIKE SNAP OUTKABDJDHDH
like please 😭 snap out of the identity politics. these men are not consistent with their opinions and dont care to be either. they have a surface level enjoyment with everything and get ready to see these men grinning from ear to ear tomorrow at that dinner with the president.
yeah this is nico keenan, argentine field hockey player and olympian, who announced his engagement to the dutch politician rob jetten recently.
watching hr and having a lot in common with scott and kip.
the amount of loathing skip has been on the receiving end of has grated on me a lot since the episode came out. but like nevermind people are allowed to dislike a trope or a storyline and feel like they want more of shane and ilya. (even though imo having rewatched it, the six episodes work together very well).
what did piss me off is seeing takes about how episode 3 panders to straight people, particularly straight men, because the sex isn’t as explicit or the trope is like a het romcom and that kip is a kept woman, staying home and cooking for her man, like a majority of the blonde nhl wags are, so of course men who watch the show love that episode.
maybe im not wording this right but i dont like the implications of these takes. im not saying people aren’t allowed to dislike episode 3 but the reason behind it is what im looking at. cuz skips storyline is a lot more realistic than people want to acknowledge 🤷🏽 and there are queer people who see themselves in the peaks and troughs of their arc
idk just seeing that experience diminished as pandering to straights and giving them something “palatable” bothers me a lot. because neither scott nor kip were jerking off on demand before mouthing at the others crotch on all fours.
and it also established the stakes of shane and ilyas relationship too like the anxiety, weight and burden of sneaking around and keeping secrets and potentially never coming out, beyond the thrill and great sex and chemistry, always ends badly. scott was always meant to be a cautionary tale and i dont think episode 5 would’ve hit as hard or felt as good and rewarding without the story being told the way it is.
guillermo del torro’s depiction of father-son relationships in both pinnochio and frankenstein are interesting.
while gepetto creates pinocchio out of grief for the son he lost, the creatures entire existence is just collateral damage in victors quest to cheat death. one feels like a story rooted in love about an imperfect father and an imperfect son and the other is a son paying the price for his fathers crimes.
victor makes the creature out of grief for his mother and to stick it to his abusive father and his failure to save her life. the proprietary feeling he had over his mother and the need to “share” her with his own father and her husband victor has romantic feelings for a woman that looks exactly like his mother, tortures the creature for receiving care and understanding from her that he feels like hes deserving of and cannot bear to “share” her with the creature thats technically his son. (not to mention his penchant for drinking milk. freud would’ve had a field day with this mf).
it reads like a role reversal. where victor has become his father and elizabeth is stepping into the shoes of victors mother only that the emotional bond isn’t with victor, its with the creature instead and he cant stand that.
the creature forgives his father and embraces his humanity by accepting life but the fact doesn’t change that victor doomed the creature to eternity alone and being perceived as a monster. victor would rather perpetuate the cycle of grief by killing elizabeth and inflicting the pain of losing the understanding and almost (maternal) love that she had, on the creature.
not only did victor refuse to see the creatures humanity, he also denies him companionship because the man doesn’t understand the concept of friendship. he can only see the creature through a lens of disgust and perversion, as “death begetting death” and not a “someone” capable of experiencing loneliness.
can i just say how much i absolutely LOVE inner cameron? he's like the SASSIEST little shit ever! the voice of conscience that keeps the good and bad scale in him balanced. the only voice that keeps him stay true to himself, remind him who he is, and not to stray away too far from his path or betray himself.
inner cam never wrong. like liam oh once said, inner cam is the true cam 💅✨ 💖
and i love this so much bc cam is just constantly so conflicted inside just like sullivan. they're truly two sides of the same coin. cam and sullivan.
i would LOVE to see inner sullivan too. no i NEED to see inner sullivan! i bet he would be even more INSANE bc we've only seen him acting out his inner thoughts and feelings without seeing actual inner sullivan and it was already THIS aggressive imagine how insane inner sullivan would be! what their conversations would be like! i'd pay money to see that!
godddd i need a whole series about sullivan! so much materials! the potential is unlimited! i wanna dive deep into his mind! his past! his childhood, when he first enlisted on 18, his boot camp days, his recon days, how he met W, i wanna see him scuba dive and parachute! i wanna know everything! 😩
I have never felt so perplexed about a ship as I do about Sullivan and Cope
Let me explain myself...
You have the two most main out of main characters of a show, who are deliberately written to interact with one another in a pretty significant manner, as well as pretty darn often, in basically every single episode. The viewers feel naturally drawn to those interactions because they always offer something intriguing, revealing, character-building, or simply notably push the plot forward, thanks to the fascinating dynamics between them.
Fandoms always tend to ship such characters, especially if they seem to be polar opposites of each other in the current timeline, and even if they both don't happen to be canonically gay, making the romance between them actually conceivable.
I feel like it is impossible to watch Boots, as someone chronically active in all sorts of fandoms and with a brain rotten by countless fanfictions read, and never experience the moment when you would feel the inexplicable need to ship Sullivan and Cope, because there certainly are scenes that offer downright immaculate material for such imaginations. I mean, the current state of the show's tag on AO3 very much speaks for that.
However, when you actually finish watching the show and earn the whole (or at least somewhat solid) picture of the characters and their complicated relationships, you realise just how many BUTs there are in the Sullivan and Cope ship.
There is the entire notion of Sullivan essentially seeing his younger self in Cope from the very first moment they crossed paths (I will never not find the scene in the barracks in Episode One, when they first met and Sullivan's gaydar broke down the second he caught the faintest smell of Cope, hilarious), and trying to protect him and mentor him in rather unorthodox manners that not always seem well-meant and have the intended effect.
When you look at their interactions through this lens (I genuinely recommend watching the show again), then they suddenly no longer appear as straightforwardly romantic as you first believed, no matter how intimate they may still be in essence, because Sullivan is too self-loathing, broken mess of a man to be a narcissist who would actually be capable of falling in love with someone who reminds him of himself to such an extent.
And then, there is the whole bombshell of Cope actually being a minor the whole time, not freshly eighteen as he himself had naively believed till the very end of the season, and I am suddenly stripped even further of the urge to ship the two of them because Sullivan is supposed to be like 28, if I am not mistaken, and that is just downright wrong on so many moral levels.
Truly, if there was anyone out of the recruits, with whom Sullivan would actually be willing to start something, I feel like it would be Slovacek, because they are both equally messed-up, yet in different ways that would clash together in the truly enemies-to-lovers manner. Not to mention the evident reality that Sullivan is clearly not even remotely into twinks (no offence, Cope). The fact that there is already a considerable number of people who are of the opinion that Cope and Slovacek need to hook up in future, only confirms this belief, if we go into unpacking it with the "Cope is just a younger version of Sullivan" mentality.
finished watching boots. and i have a lot of thoughts i need to put into words about the show, i’ll start with sullivan though.
i’ve been rotating sullivan in my head like a microwave for like 2 days now. imo, he’s easily one of the best portrayals of repression and how masculinity and queerness butt heads especially in a hyper-masculine environment like the military.
clocking cameron the second he laid eyes on him lmao talk about a gaydar. his approach with mentoring/toughening cameron up was interesting, he seemed like a plain self-hating closet case when he directly says its his mission to take the weeds out , “if there are no f_____s in my platoon then why are you still here?”. then the moment by the trash cans felt like him realising his method had backfired a bit since cope felt like he didn’t belong. the encouragement to not “let some asshole run him out” and to claim his place revealed his intentions. some levity at the shooting range with how happy he was about camerons attempts. and how satisfied he was when jones gets his shit rocked during hand to hand combat.
i’m still curious about how much the “every man for himself” mindset impacts sullivan and if he saw cameron using ray and jones as crutches and thats why he kept trying to isolate him almost and fight for himself like he’d need to learn to do.
also gives a small window into what sullivans own experience as an 18 year old in boot camp must’ve felt like and what he was absorbing about how he should be since he evidently sees himself in cameron. the tidbit about being underweight and wanting to come back tougher to enlist only to have his recruiter cheat the system to fulfil his quota. his idealism on what the marines stand for and needing to make things right in the end shattering a bit 😮💨
and then wilkinson. i hate hate that i could perfectly explain every single thing sullivan did, right from maitra cornering him about the rumours and the optics of him spending time with wilkinson and then to him running away. not realising that his attempt at holding off maitras suspicions directly led to his lover being investigated and arrested.
finding out that maitra was the one who reported him based off of what sullivan told him during the wedding and all of it being after he leaves guam. so he goes back to parris island and just loses his shit. the guilt and his mess of emotions had me laying flat on the floor. it felt suffocating and him being unable to accept fajardos help just screams guilt, wilkinson didn’t have any help so does he deserve it? its all his fault anyway.
sullivans definitely an alcoholic or heading down that path quick. and the fact that he hears about aarons arrest and then drunkenly telling the recruits their ine true love will always be their responsibility as marines lowkey killed me. then the bar fight, the moment of hesitation before he swings the glass and how fast fajardo caught on that he’d rather face dishonourable discharge and jail time for attempted murder than have it anywhere on his military record that he’s gay. just kill me it’d hurt less.
what a gorgeous man. what a mess of internalised homophobia and guilt. what a bleak ending for him and the cycle continues with cameron.
once again. addiction is an actual disease, you cannot expect addicts to behave in a way that you deem “appropriate”, they will say hurtful shit and do everything humanly possible to deflect and avoid. him yelling at robby, i loved seeing that kind of desperation to avoid.
this show isn’t like rue in euphoria levels of addiction and ruin. langdon hasn’t hit rock bottom that way and i doubt he will. as much as id have liked to see more of his storyline in the finale, im liking that we didn’t get it cuz thats actually what his character is going through.
cuz fuck knows how long hes been stealing from the hospital. all he knows is over the course of one shift, his entire life has blown up. he doesn’t believe he has an issue, but we also know being a doctor is more important than anything else and therefore he will go into treatment somewhat grudgingly and come to a different conclusion himself.
he hasn’t even been home yet and hes pretty much out of work now. how does he tell his wife? how does he feel about himself? idk i think the finale ended with the perfect amount of suspense and lack of clarity cuz the character itself doesn’t know.
what im not liking about the way watchers are talking about langdon is the lack of compassion
the clip that aired of him lashing out at robbie has taken a very “kick him out with the trash” tone that i hate. he got caught mere hours ago and his entire life’s about to get blown up yall expect him to be rational and just leave when he hasn’t even processed shit yet? and with the kind of personality he has too? be fr
maybe its solely a twitter thing or whatever but the utter lack of nuance in some very popular takes is annoying the living fuck out of me. the speed at which discourse turned into perfect child of god santos vs stinky junkie white man langdon is surprising.
and i love both of those characters because yes actually santos does have problems with authority, whether its past trauma or her personality itself, her level of abrasiveness and individualism isn’t actually good for an environment like a emergency room in a hospital and her being a resident who’s still learning.
and maybe no dont advocate for her to risk killing another patient just cuz you like a complex woc character? in that regard langdon was right in his assessment of her.
now coming to langdon, he absolutely should not be having this kind of beef with santos and robby calling him out for it was great. but its not that hard to see that he’s like an older version of santos, more accomplished and self assured but he’s just like her and he doesn’t know what to do when hes looking in a mirror his entire shift.
langdon is also a very high functioning addict and his behaviour and life outside of being a doctor is suffering due to his addiction. whether its being reactive with coworkers or impulsive at home and somewhat neglectful of his marriage, its a very good depiction of a certain type of substance abuse that often flies under the radar, the kind where people have a trouble with pain management and have a high tolerance to drugs and who dont show obvious signs.
yall praise the show for being realistic but dont clock the amount of compassion that it depicts towards people struggling with mental illness, even with one of their own, mckay being 9 years sober.
i did NOT like robby blaming whats going on with david entirely on mckay like your ass was comfortable telling his mother about manosphere podcasts but somehow didn’t make the connection that those same incels are capable of and do often have violent tendencies towards others? like mckay was absolutely correct in her reaction while robby did fuck all trying to coddle a high schooler with a list of girls he wanted to kill.
he’s not wrong that involving police does make it harder to break through with certain patients but he also was freaking out alerting authorities that david might be the shooter and then was so relieved when he wasn’t and the blame wouldn’t come on him the guy in charge for not taking action.
that asshole kids misogyny was on full display with the way he was cussing at mckay but not robby or his mother.
