I’d just like to point out that the purpose of the gifset was to show that this isn’t about sexual tension at all. Instead, it’s about why she threatened Zuko’s life.

She saw Zuko as a threat to Aang’s life. No matter what you ship, the simple fact is that Katara is very protective of Aang, and after seeing how easily Zuko betrayed her in the crystal catacombs, she couldn’t let it happen again. And she’d be willing to take his life if he forced her to it.

Katara doesn’t take betrayal- or any form of harm to the people she loves- lightly. Also displayed by her hatred for Yon Rha.

So there you go, context for why Katara was furious. No sexual frustration, just anger.

I saw a tag that says zuko doesn’t understand why katara was mad.

And I’d like to tell everyone that is false. Zuko was expecting a harsh reception before he came to apologize especially after burning toph which is why he’s practices his apology initially and why he is so distraught about how hard it is for him to be good.

What Zuko doesn’t understand how to do is to reconcile an issue. The first time zuko ever apologizes his father burns and banishes him. By the time he apologizes to the gaang he thinks/hopes a sincere apology will be enough, but it’s not. And katara is STILL the last to forgive him (understandably). What zuko doesnt understand is what else he needs to do to earn Katara’s forgiveness which is the whole plot of the southern raiders episode. And its also why katara is there supporting zuko when it’s time for him to apologize to Iroh. Because zuko is still scared he doesn’t understand/ hasn’t done enough to earn Iroh’s forgiveness.

You know how 1st world feminists get told that they don’t need feminism? They’re told that they should be glad they’re not “really oppressed” like the women in 3rd world countries. That things could always be worse.

You know what my mother tells me? She says I don’t need feminism because I should be glad I’m born in an urban city of Pakistan. She says, at least I wasn’t born in a rural area where girls are married off to men twice their age. That things could always be worse.

And our house maid, Shabana, who was married to her uncle at 15 and, at 18, has 2 children, she doesn’t even know what feminism is. She was told by her father that she should be glad her husband doesn’t beat her and hasn’t thrown tehzaab (acid) at her. That things could always be worse.
