Listen - what’s happening right now is despicable. Police murdered George Floyd in broad daylight, recorded on camera and they continue to hide behind their system and remain fully protected. I’m filled with rage and grief because of the injustice and the inequality of the vile, cruel system that has been set in place - and I cannot even begin to fathom how those who knew and were close to the victims of these crimes feel. This is not okay. I know that it’s been said before and it’s an obvious thing to see - after all, innocent people are being slaughtered over something they cannot control. Over something that is human and something that is them. This needs to change. You might think it’s something uncomfortable to talk about, but it needs to be said. And people need to listen.

I’m white, I’m young - hell, this is a blog for a series marketed towards kids - but I’m on here because I know more people will be able to see this. You need to speak up. And if you are white I’m begging you to use the privilege that you have to make a fucking change. Speak up about this because the people it affects are getting killed for talking about it. They are treated like subhuman for protesting for equality. 

White privilege exists: use it for something powerful. If you stay silent, you are part of the problem.
