One type of person I honestly admire is the one who is capable of speaking at length with an absolutely stuffy nose without at least seeming at all embarrassed about it.
Like prattling on and on with that dead sexy thick voice with their n's and m's entirely gone, not batting an eye. Perhaps even making a little self-deprecating joke about it at some point, but then just continuing, not talking any less than usual despite sounding just. so. hot!!
Make sure you sneeze on your p/assenger p/rincess to show her you care
The same cold affecting two people completely differently! A comes down with a light cold. B doesn't think to keep a distance, because A hardly looks sick anyway. A also doesn't think to keep their germs to themselves, it's just a case of the sniffles, so they go about their day, rubbing their itchy nose every so often, but with no massive spraying sneezes or coughs. Maybe A and B work closely together, and A briefly runs a finger under their nose before touching their shared computer. Yet a few days later, B is lying in bed, feeling too sick to go to work, their nose expelling something every minute, wondering how the hell this was A's cold.
i actually can’t believe how easy it is to make myself sneeze right now my god
i have a cold and i couldn’t wait to get home earlier
i was sitting outside a bar on some stairs with my friend. i had my head down on my knees because i smoked too much of a cigarette and felt super sick. this woman came and asked if we minded her standing near us because she was sneezing, but she promised it was from the alcohol. so i couldn't move my head or even open my eyes, and for the next few minutes i overheard her sneezing while her and my friend made conversation. they sounded half stifled but still long and drawn out, like she was trying to hold them back more but they were too strong
This has probably been talked about before but hear me out. We all know that getting sick in the rain is a good trope but what about someone who was already fighting something getting sicker in the rain? A little sniffle becomes a full blown cold, all because they had to travel or work in the rain.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
I think an underrated thing for me in cold fic is just… swollenness. A big, bright, red, puffy, stuffed-tight nose, so swollen with cold it makes their whole head throb. A swollen and inflamed sore throat. Tender, swollen lymph nodes for a flu. But mostly the nose: so pink-red and chapped and swollen that they can hardly breathe through it at all. Each messy sneeze that wrenches its way through those tight, inflamed passages hurts so much.
The three-tiered hitch, though… heh-heh-heh! It’s perfection. It’s the golden ratio of the sneeze world.
rhinoviruses when they overhear the owner of the nose they’re in saying that no they’re not catching a cold, they feel perfectly fine, haven’t been sick in years etc
kissing temple bc headache. kissing forehead bc fever. kissing nose bc so much snz. kissing chest bc cough. kissing lips bc voice go away. kissing neck bc sore throat. kiss to take ailing away.
A skeptic A with a cold and their (partner? roommate? friend? you pick) B saying that peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil will help with the congestion and headache and lavender oil will help them sleep
B convinces A to put some peppermint oil under their nose, but, apparently, A is terribly allergic to it
A should be furious, but they're so miserable
“Feeling rough, huh? Looks like that fever is really taking it out of you.”
why do they know that 😭😭
Bruh that thing like. Hot dude things is putting hand on the back of the headrest when backing up a car. Like that but wrenching your whole upper half to sneeze over your shoulder in the direction of the backseat as opposed to directly covering it
