no it is not! I wish the same but I guess it’s all about boobs...I crossplayed once with my girlfriend together she did a beautiful girl cosplay and guess what even If you could defenitly see we belong together they only took pics of her because right I had no boobies that day..

Hi Nina!!! I really wanna cosplay Asuna from SAO, but so does my friend and she'll most likely get to before I do since she has more money and time to cosplay than I do. I have the same problem with a few other characters as well. So, do you think it's okay to cosplay a character a friend has already done/wants to do as well? Thanks so much for your time, you're an amazing cosplayer and I hope I can be as talented as you one day ^_^ <3

Absolutely! Just because your friend cosplays a character doesn’t mean that character is off-limits to you. That’d be silly!

For example, both Courtney and I have cosplayed Princess Tutu. Just because Courtney had done a Tutu cosplay a few years before me didn’t mean I couldn’t do so too. We both interpreted aspects of her design differently and made our own versions of the character.

Seeing how different people interpret the same character is one of the coolest parts of cosplay! Your Asuna cosplay will be very different than your friend’s interpretation. Maybe she’ll use a different fabric, or you’ll style your wigs differently, or you may even do different outfits of hers. Maybe even suggest that you two work on your costumes together to stay motivated!

No one owns or gets to “call dibs” on a character. That’s not how cosplay works. It’s totally fine for both of you to cosplay Asuna. It isn’t a competition to see who’s “better” – it’s an opportunity for you and your friend to bond over your intense, mutual love for this character. And that is awesome!

We can’t put it into words how much we love HoriMiya! It is really our story. Everytime we read it it’s a game of: OMG that is so you and the other way round xD we love it because they are just a normal couple with kissing, cuddling and sex with nothing weird about it, just how it should be! it is just perfect. And last year we already did a cosplay out of it and this year will follow some more!
