It is ASTOUNDING to me how often this is the answer to any RPG rules question. For any game. It makes me feel like I'm in customer service again. "Did you read the rulebook?" No. of course not.

There's A TTRPG For That Goes On Hiatus
Hello friends.
For the past 3 & 1/2 years, I've been providing weekly ttrpg recommendations for folks, and I've been happy to do so! However, I've found myself in a new stage of life recently that has dramatically reduced my free time. Ultimately, this is a good thing, but it also means that right now, I need to re-focus what little free time I have towards personal projects and time spent with friends.
I really enjoy providing recommendations for folks, and I hope to do so in the future - in fact, if everything goes as I expect, I should be flipping through my archives again in September later this year. But until then, There's A TTRPG For That will be put on a reduced posting schedule.
What this means:
I'm not accepting any recommendation requests or review requests for the duration of my hiatus.
I will be re-posting old recommendation posts for the duration of my hiatus.
I have a Library Masterpost for the curious
There are one or two things that I may still release in the next 5 months or so, either because I agreed to them before going on hiatus or because I had the time & motivation to write about something.
Thank you so much everyone for the love and appreciation that has been sent my way over the past 3 years. I hope to see y'all again in September! - Mint
Take care of yourself, Mint
hi we’re a24 and we loved the ytp you posted when you were 15. do you want to direct the multimillion dollar adaptation of your opus, simpsons gone purple?
Calling Kane Parsons' Backrooms an 'adaptation of a 4chan post' is so wildly insane given that the movie has virtually nothing to do with the original post whatsoever other than it serving as vague inspiration. Like atleast half of the negative reviews it gets is because it isn't the 'real backrooms' that the internet made up and that Kane is sticking to his story and his vision and not adding in 'Level 666: the spooky level!' Or some lame shit some random wiki cooked up
They did not turn a 4chan post into a movie, they turned a hugely popular internet webseries into a movie and it did crazy at the box office
Its also very much arthouse, not only is it subversive as a film, taking an internet web series and turning into a full scale production, but it also subverted the industry by giving a 20 year old a theatrical release (something that filmbros are still refusing that he actually did, and are insisting that theres a real, older, proper director behind the scenes because no way a 20 year old could direct a movie, apparently)
Like i get it, its the internet people are going to be reductive to the point of absurdism but this is just wrong 😭😭 you're acting like James Wan was scrolling 4chan, saw a post, and took it to Blumhouse, this was a multi-year endeavour backed by precedent, and is an insanely impressive movie from a production POV, with a hugely talented individual manning it from day 1 with a clear vision and story he wants to tell.

its 2026 i cannot handle any more fucking "author A obviously ripped off author B" discourse by people Who Have Only Seen the work of author B and admit themselves that they have no further knowledge of the literary landscape they are moving in. like.
It's been just over a year since Deltarune chapters 3 & 4 released! I did the 3D work, which mostly means Tenna 📺 I figured it's been long enough to share some "behind the scenes" stuff, starting with a look at the Maya file for his static poses...
I'd individually render the poses to get that early 3D shine ✨ Here's some of them at their original resolutions! I would work from text descriptions from Toby, and sometimes there'd be a Paint sketch to help out. Gigi drew the concept that I modeled from and some poses too!
I had a lot of fun pushing myself to match the dynamic poses Toby had in mind for Tenna - making him so crazy and expressive was something I couldn't have done without his prompts. He'd draw the faces on afterward too, which really brought Tenna to life!
