Long time no see! The bard in my campaign made these lovely scrolls of songs her lovely half nymph might create. They are so beautiful!! #dnd #bard #badass #creativethinking #hellyeah #asourfathers
Campaign setting for “As Our Fathers” where the players play grand or great grand kids of those former characters. Everyone is so excited!!
This map is a close up of the region they are in. They can make notes and add in places all they want. Much of this campaign is light combat and lots of theater of the mind. Here they can doodle and note take.
Stage two of my dracolich. Really happy with the progress so far.
The players have no idea what they are up against. They thought this mini was for their last game. They are going to be pleased and horrified.
It will be great.
I’m making five villages around the main city for my home game. This is one I finished today. Two more to go and then writing background! Excitement!
Finished it! Day 7 too! I’m really pleased with it too! #inktober2018 #inktober #finalfantasy #kumo #kiri #dragon https://www.instagram.com/p/Bop32y8h8zo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=zvxypfxauo71
A grand project I used as practice. Almost lost it, but it all came back and turned out great. I’m so happy with this!
So, we had our final character building party. And since I love trying new things out, I came up with this.
What this is can be a little complicated, so let me give you the just. In red are all the gods of my world. Next three sections show how I, the dm, see the gods. The remaining page is how the players told me they see the gods. Most are very different from how I see them.
This is now how their world sees these gods. My players are, in a very real way, shaping my world, or at least how it’s seen. I had them create holidays based on the last game as well. I have never seen more invested players. We are so very excited about opening this next book!
It has happened. After near four years of playing this game, Catching the Light (take two) has come to an end. So many new and different things where done. It ended up being so beautiful.
One thing I ended up planning for near two years ago was getting a player to become the final boss. The player didn’t know it till about three months ago, where we planed the battle together. His character turned into the monster on the right. I used my undead dragon as the mini. I played his familiar and made sure he didn’t kill the party. It could not have been better. Though we had some real close calls to insanity.
Their characters changed the world, for the better. It’s amazing. And in it I think we all learned something really great, like a good 80s cartoon ender.
Next game will be in the works. Their character’s great grand children will be the main characters. I’m so excited!!
Btw, the mini on the dragon’s head is Garret. They flew him on the monster of madness’s head where he broke open his skull. It was beautiful.
I was able to get a large, laminated map of my world for my players to write on. It came to mind when I realized they aren’t great note takers, so having something they can interact with might help. The close ups are the three main areas the characters have done most of the game at. The locations are the most well known areas to them. I’ll let them fill in the rest. I might make smaller maps of some places so they can make more detailed notes. Thoughts?
A commission I did for a friend that sets at my dnd table on Wednesday nights. I’m familiar with the half elf. My skills with skin tone has lved up and I’m excited!
Catching the Light take three just wrapped up. They fought and won when challenged by a dimi god of pestilence of body and mind. Her powers turned on her to make her more powerful, but destroying her remaining humanity. They kicked ass. This is the first campaign I have run and finished. We have been chipping away at this for two and a half years. It’s been great. Really amazing. One of my players got me this awesome first campaign finished cake! Honestly, I have had the best players a DM could ask for, even before the cake. It’s been epic. Next, they play the dissidents of their characters or NPCs they have collected with the world they have helped build.
Character sheet for my newest character based off of Kevin from Welcome to Night Vale. Just a super nice lady with an obsession with teeth. What’s wrong with that? Look at that smile.

My broken heart...
They beat the lich!!! Only took three tries.
Ways to get your player’s heart pumping: make the legend of a feared monster worse then they thought. Or at least feel that way. This is my intro of Utral, the mythic kraken, to my players. “Satisfy my waters or die in them. Be quick. I am hungry.” Said a voice like that of cracking thunder in your mind. You hear Eros crying from the deck over the howling winds. “Guys! Utral is here!” When you scramble to top deck, you see one of the long, tentacle arms wrap around the mast and others creeped over the side of the ship in silent threat. You must act fast.
When the sun is plucked from the sky and darkness swallows her, look to the unlit lighthouse at world’s edge. There Sorrow holds her, and she holds him, consoling each other after their long, unrightful imprisonment; reunited at last. -Charneile on Carbuncle and Sard
This beautiful thing came today (thanks to a gift card I got a while back). This might take me a while to paint, but that also gives me the time I need to plan. He needs a story. He needs heroes to hate him. He needs to be felled (again?) my those heroes! ... Unless he does them in. It’ll be great!
