Sensitivity Readers Needed!
I'm looking for a least two paid sensitivity readers for an original manuscript. The manuscript is YA speculative fiction finished at 87,000 words. I’m looking for:
At least one sensitivity reader for a Muslim Pakistani-American teenage girl who wears a hijab
One sensitivity reader for a Black teenage boy
Manuscript Summary: Seventeen, anxious, and chronically depressed, Jere Aquino just wants to make it to graduation. But his life (and the world) are turned upside down when unnatural earthquakes rock the planet—bringing magical forces into everyone’s lives and imbuing some people with powers. Now, Jere has to find the energy to get out of bed, help his best friend, Amina, with her new abilities, and keep both of them alive.
Content warnings: this story deals with mental health issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and suicidal ideation. For a more complete list of content warnings, please contact me.
If you're interested, please send me an email at [email protected] by June 19th with your rates, estimated turnaround time, any prior experience or relevant life experiences, and which sensitivity reader role you're interested in filling. Thank you!
“Understand,” he says. “I am here (Tau Ceti) forty-six years.” “Forty-six years?!” I gasp. “Earth years?!” “I am here forty-six Earth years, yes.”

it is impossible to watch a movie. every night i think i want to watch a movie. no movie gets watched. because it's not possible
and yet they keep making movies with the hopes that one day humanity will discover a way to watch them. it's so inspiring
I'm rereading heated rivalry the book and book Shane is so competitive that when they first hook up and Ilya swallows when Shane doesn't, Shane feels like Ilya beat him at gay blow jobs. #hashtagmyshane
Hehe, Brushbug. New episode of the anime tomorrow! Shirahama posted these to her twitter today.
both of them are me
All it means when people say “you’re speaking from a place of privilege” is that you’re likely to underestimate how bad the problem is by default because you are never personally exposed to that problem. It’s not a moral judgement of how difficult your life is.
^^^^^^ read it. say it out loud. keep repeating it until you understand.

are you okay i noticed you reblogging "a raven with a damaged wing. it can still fly with ease" again
i agree so much about making your blorbos pathetic but i do fear that many take this to mean 'make them more traditionally feminine/submissive' which genuinely hurts my soul. make your blorbos pathetic in interesting character-oriented ways. understand their neuroses and turn the dials up to eleven. juxtapose the parts of life they handle extremely well with the parts of their lives that make them eat shit. make them angry. make them cold. make them pave their own way to hell while building walls preventing them from seeing any other way. please i'm begging you no more pathetic as an euphemism for bottoming im gonna mclose it.
maybe orpheus always looks back because his very effort to reverse death means that he can't look forward. if he could look forward, he could accept eurydice's death, grieve, and keep moving in life. his refusal to accept her death is looking back. his going down to the underworld, asking hades and persephone for her life, trying to lead her out... it's all 'looking back'. he does nothing for the entire story except look back. orpheus! looks! back! it's his entire thing! the story ends the same way it begins: orpheus looked back.
I love non-sexual intimacy.
Like let me sit your lap with your hands on my waist while I talk your ear off about something stupid that I just feel like telling you about. Let me play with your hands. Let me run my nails along your muscles to relax you. Lay your head in my lap while I scratch your head so you can fall asleep. Let’s cuddle while we watch tv at night in a dim lounge room with only the soft light of a lamp. Let me brush your hair and play with it. Let me literally just exist in your space.
