I’VE FINALLY FINISHED THIS OMFG—//collapses This is a Rick and Morty animatic of the Oogie Boogie Song (from The Nightmare Before Christmas) that I have been working on for ¾ months, ever since I began doodling Evil Morty as a Tim Burton villain. So much blood, sweat and tears went into this, but I loved every second of it! 

So, basically, this is a scenario where Evil Morty has captured Rick C137 and the video shows the events that unfold afterwards. 

This was purely a passion project, so I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I loved making it.

One of my favorite Easter eggs in Rick and Morty is this replicated iconic outfit of Freddie Mercury on Miles Knightly! The episode this was in happened to premiere on the anniversary of his death. I’m not sure if that was just a coincidence or not, but anyways enjoy!

I think Rick has been taking Morty on adventures since he was tiny - just showing up randomly and whisking him away. For one thing, there’s photographic evidence. But also, have you noticed that Summer almost always refers to Rick as “Grandpa Rick,” while Morty never does?

Kind of weird, right?

It’s almost as if Morty has know Rick for a long time out of context, while Summer was introduced to him, “Summer, this is your Grandpa Rick.”

So I think Morty always has this imaginary friend growing up, and the whole family brushed him off or shamed him for being too old for that shit. And suddenly Rick shows up on the doorstep and Morty is all, “Hey, Rick,” and Beth flips a lid.

Bonus points that Rick never bothered to tell Morty that they’re related. “Wait, you’re… you’re my grandpa??”

“Jeezus, Morty, is that even relevant?”
